Trap-assisted charge recombination is one of the primary limitationsof restricting the performance of organic solar cells. However, effectivelyreducing the presence of traps in the photoactive layer remains ***, wide bandgap polymer donor PTzBI-dF is demonstrated as an effectivemodulator for enhancing the crystallinity of the bulk heterojunction active layerscomposed of D18 derivatives blended with Y6, leading to dense and orderedmolecular packings, and thus, improves photoluminescence quenching *** a result, the photovoltaic devices exhibit reduced trap-assisted charge recombinationlosses, achieving an optimized power conversion efficiency of over 19%.Besides the efficiency enhancement, the devices comprised of PTzBI-dF as athird component simultaneously attain decreased current leakage, improved chargecarrier mobilities, and suppressed bimolecular charge recombination, leading toreduced energy losses. The advanced crystalline structures induced by PTzBI-dFand its characteristics, such as well-aligned energy level, and complementaryabsorption spectra, are ascribed to the promising performance *** findings suggest that donor phase engineering is a feasible approach to tuning the molecular packings in the active layer, providingguidelines for designing effective morphology modulators for high-performance organic solar cells.

Status and prospects for symmetric organic redox flow batteries

As environmental concerns from fossil fuel consumption intensify, large-scale energy storage becomes imperative for the integration of renewable sources like wind, hydro, and solar with the electrical *** flow batteries, particularly those employing organic molecules, are positioned as a key technology for this purpose. This review explores the growing field of symmetric organic redox flow batteries(ORFBs) within this context. Unlike traditional asymmetric designs based on unique active materials for each electrode, symmetric ORFBs involve a single bipolar species for both electrodes. This review highlights the benefits of a symmetric design, and categorizes five distinct classes of organic bipolar molecules used in both aqueous and non-aqueous solvents. By providing a comprehensive overview of their cell cycling and performance characteristics, the strengths and weaknesses of the diverse categories of bipolar molecules are highlighted for both solvent systems, as are opportunities for future development. This should guide new research directions and advance the development of practical symmetric ORFBs.

Study on adhesively-bonded surface of tapered double cantilever specimen made of aluminum foam affected with shear force

Aluminum foam is widely used in diverse areas to minimize the weight and maximize the absorption of shock energy in lightweight structures and various *** presents a number of advantages,such as low density,incombustibility,non-rigidity,excellent energy absorptivity,sound absorptivity and low heat *** aluminum foam with an air cell structure was placed under the TDcB Mode II tensile load by using Landmark equipment manufactured by MTS to examine the shear failure *** angle of the tapered adhesively-bonded surfaces of specimens was designated as a variable,and three models were developed with the inclined angles differing from one another at 6°,8° and 10°.The specimens with the inclined angles of 6°,8° and 10° have the maximum reaction forces of 168 N,194 N when the forced displacements are 6,5 and 4.2 mm *** are three specimens with the inclined angles of 10°,8° and 6° in the order of maximum reaction *** the analysis result,the maximum equivalent stresses of 0.813 MPa and 0.895 MPa happened when the forced displacements of 6 mm and 5 mm proceeded at the models of 6° and 8°,respectively.A simulation was carried out on the basis of finite element method and the experimental *** results of the experiment and the simulation analysis are shown not different from each other ***,only a simulation could be confirmed to be performed in substitution of an experiment,which is costly and time-consuming in order to determine the shearing properties of materials made of aluminum foam with artificial data.

Mechanically durable transparent electrodes are essential for achieving long-term stability in flexible optoelectronic ***,they are crucial for applications in the fields of energy,display,healthcare,and soft *** meshes represent a promising alternative to traditional,brittle,metal oxide conductors due to their high electrical conductivity,optical transparency,and enhanced mechanical *** this paper,we present a simple method for fabricating an ultra-transparent conducting metal oxide mesh electrode using selfcracking-assisted *** this method,we produced an electrode with ultra-transparency(97.39%),high conductance(Rs=21.24Ωsq^(−1)),elevated work function(5.16 eV),and good mechanical *** also evaluated the effectiveness of the fabricated electrodes by integrating them into organic photovoltaics,organic light-emitting diodes,and flexible transparent memristor devices for neuromorphic computing,resulting in exceptional device *** addition,the unique porous structure of the vanadium-doped indium zinc oxide mesh electrodes provided excellent flexibility,rendering them a promising option for application in flexible optoelectronics.

The Role of cyclic Nucleotide-Gated Ion channels in Plant Immunity

Since the first plant cyclic nucleotide-gated ion channel （cNGc）, HvcBT1, was identified as a calmodulin bind- ing protein, more than a decade has passed and a substantial amount of work has been done to understand the molecular nature and function of these channel proteins. Based on electrophysiological and heterologous expression analyses, plant cNGcs function as non-selective cation channels and, so far, their biological roles have been reported in defense responses, development, and ion homeostasis. Forward genetic approaches identified four AtcNGcs （AtcNGc2, 4, 11, and 12） to be involved in plant immunity, as null mutants for AtcNGc2, 4, 11, and 12 as well as a gain-of- function mutant for AtcNGc11 and 12 exhibited alterations in defense responses. Since ion flux changes have been reported as one of the early events upon pathogen recognition and also are an essential component for the activation of defense responses, the involvement of cNGcs in these ion flux changes has been suggested. However, the recent detailed characterization of null mutants suggested a more complex involvement of this channel family. In this review, we focus on the discoveries and character- ization of these cNGc mutants and discuss possible roles of cNGcs as components in plant immunity.

Machine learning empowers efficient design of ternary organic solar cells with PM6 donor

Organic solar cells(OScs) hold great potential as a photovoltaic technology for practical ***, the traditional experimental trial-and-error method for designing and engineering OScs can be complex, expensive, and time-consuming. Machine learning(ML) techniques enable the proficient extraction of information from datasets, allowing the development of realistic models that are capable of predicting the efficacy of materials with commendable accuracy. The PM6 donor has great potential for high-performance OScs. However, it is crucial for the rational design of a ternary blend to accurately forecast the power conversion efficiency(PcE) of ternary OScs(TOScs) based on a PM6 ***, we collected the device parameters of PM6-based TOScs and evaluated the feature importance of their molecule descriptors to develop predictive models. In this study, we used five different ML algorithms for analysis and prediction. For the analysis, the classification and regression tree provided different rules, heuristics, and patterns from the heterogeneous dataset. The random forest algorithm outperforms other prediction ML algorithms in predicting the output performance of PM6-based TOScs. Finally, we validated the ML outcomes by fabricating PM6-based TOScs. Our study presents a rapid strategy for assessing a high PcE while elucidating the substantial influence of diverse descriptors.

Electrochemical characteristics of phosphorus doped Si-c composite for anode active material of lithium secondary batteries

Phosphorus doped silicon-carbon composite particles were synthesized through a Dc arc plasma ***(SiH4) and methane(cH4) were introduced into the reaction chamber as the precursor of silicon and carbon,***(PH3) was used as a phosphorus dopant *** of synthesized particles were carried out by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffractometry(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and bulk resistivity *** properties were investigated by cyclic test and electrochemical voltage spectroscopy(EVS).In the experimental range,phosphorus doped silicon-carbon composite electrode exhibits enhanced cycle performance than intrinsic silicon and phosphorus doped *** can be explained that incorporation of carbon into silicon acts as a buffer matrix and phosphorus doping plays an important role to enhance the conductivity of the electrode,which leads to the improvement of the cycle performance of the cell.

carbon Dioxide concentration and Flux in an Urban Residential Area in Seoul,Korea

The carbon dioxide （cO2） concentrations and fluxes measured at a height of 17.5 m above the ground by a sonic anemometer and an open-path gas analyzer at an urban residential site in Seoul, Korea from February 2011 to January 2012 were analyzed. The annual mean cO2 concentration was found to be 750 mg m-3, with a maximum monthly mean concentration of 827 mg m-3 in January and a minimum value of 679 mg m-3 in August. Meanwhile, the annual mean cO2 flux was found to be 0.45 mg m-2 s-1, with a maximum monthly mean flux of 0.91 mg m-2 s-1 in January and a minimum value of 0.19 mg m-2 s-1 in June. The hourly mean cO2 concentration was found to show a significant diurnal variation; a maximum at 0700-0900 LST and a minimum at 1400-1600 LST, with a large diurnal range in winter and a small one in summer, mainly caused by diurnal changes in mixing height, cO2 flux, and surface complexity. The hourly mean cO2 flux was also found to show a significant diurnal variation, but it showed two maxima at 0700-0900 LST and 2100-2400 LST, and two minima at 1100-1500 LST and 0300-0500 LST, mainly caused by a diurnal pattern in cO2 emissions and sinks from road traffic, domestic heating and cooking by liquefied natural gas use, and the different horizontal distribution of cO2 sources and sinks near the site. Differential advection with respect to wind direction was also found to be a cause of diurnal variations in both the cO2 concentration and flux.
