Effect of Different Levels of Nitrogen and Phosphorus on the Phenology and Yield of Maize Varieties

An experiment was conducted at Malakabad (Gadera) Dargai Malak and KPK to study the effect of different levels of nitrogen and phosphorus on the yield of maize varieties in randomize complete block design with split plot arrangement. Different fertilization treatments (0:0, 100:0, 100:50, 100:100, 150:0, 150:50, 150:100, 150:150 N:P kg·ha-1) were assigned to main plot while, maize varieties (Azam, Jalal and local) were kept in sub-plots. Data regarding emergence m-2, days to emergence, days to tasseling, days to silking, number of cobs plant-1, plant height, grains cob-1, 1000-grain weight and grain yield were recorded. Emergence m-2, days to emergence, days to tasseling, days to silking, plant ha-1 at harvest were not significantly affected by different levels of nitrogen and phosphorus while number of cob plant-1, thousand grains weight, plant height, grains cob-1 and grain yield were significantly affected. Maximum grain yield (5356 kg·ha-1) was recorded in Jalal variety, when it was fertilized with 150:100 N:P kg·ha-1. Of the factors included in this study, maize cultivars and NP fertilization treatments were dominant in determining grain yield as well as its related components, suggesting that cultivar selection and optimum fertilization are effective strategies to improve grain yield. However, multiplication and multi-year studies are required to test these results using different cultivars under varying edaphic and climatic conditions.

Rational design of highly active catalysts for breaking hydrogen-oxygen bonds is of great significance in energy chemical reactions involving ***,an efficient strategy for the artificial atom(RuPd)established by d-orbital coupling and adjusted by oxygen vacancy(V_(O))is verified for water *** an experimental verification,the turnover frequency of RuPd-TiO_(2)-VO(RuPdTVO)catalyst in ammonia borane hydrolysis reaches up to 2750 min^(−1)(26,190 min−1 based on metal dispersion)in the absence of alkali,exceeding the highest active catalysts(Rh-based catalysts).The d-orbital coupling effect between Ru and Pd simulates the outer electronic structure of *** transfer from V_(O) to(RuPd)constructs an electron-rich state of active sites that further enhances the ability of the artificial atom to dissociate *** work provides an effective electronic regulation strategy from V_(O) and artificial atom constructed by d-orbital coupling effect for efficient water dissociation.

Effect of Power and Nitrogen Content on the Deposition of CrN Films by Using Pulsed DC Magnetron Sputtering Plasma

CrN thin films are deposited on stainless steel （AISI-304） substrate using pulsed DC magnetron sputtering in a mixture of nitrogen and argon plasma. Two set of samples are prepared. The first set of sample is treated at different powers （100 W to 200 W） in a mixture of argon （95%） and nitrogen （5%）. The second set of samples is treated at different nitrogen concentrations （5% to 20%） in argon （95% to 80%） for a constant power （150 W）. X-ray diffraction （XRD） analysis exhibits the development of new phases related to different compounds. The crystallinity of CrN varies by varying the applied power and nitrogen content. Crystallite size and residual stresses of the CrN （111） plane show similar variation for the applied power and nitrogen contents. Scanning electron microscopy （SEM） analysis shows the formation of a granular surface morphology that varies with the change of powers and nitrogen content. The thickness of the film is measured using SEM cross sectional images and using atomic force microscopy （AFM） scratch analysis. The maximum film thickness （about 755 nm） is obtained for the film deposited at 5% nitrogen in 95% argon at 150 W power. For these conditions, maximum hardness is also observed.

Presentation delay in breast cancer patients and its association with sociodemographic factors in North Pakistan

Background： There is strong evidence that delayed diagnosis of breast cancer is associated with poor survival. The objectives were to determine the frequency of breast cancer patients with delayed presentation, the reasons of delay and its association with different socio-demographic variables in our ***： We interviewed 315 histologically confirmed breast cancer patients. Delay was defined as more than 3 months from appearance of symptoms to the consultation from doctor. Questions were asked from each patient which could reflect their understanding about the disease and which could be the likely reasons for their delayed ***： A total of 39.01%（n=123） of patients presented late and out of those, 40.7% wasted time using alternative medicines; 25.2% were not having enough resources; 17.1% presented late due to painless lump; 10.6% felt shyness and 6.5% presented late due to other reasons. Higher age, negative family history, 〈8 school years of education and low to middle socio-economic status were significantly associated with delayed presentation（P〈0.05）. Education and socioeconomic status were two independent variables related to the delayed presentation after adjustment for others [odds ratios（OR） of 2.26, 2.29 and 95% confidence intervals（CI） was 1.25-4.10, 1.06-4.94 respectively].Conclusions： Significant percentage of women with breast cancer in North Pakistan is experiencing presentation delay due to their misconceptions about the disease. Coordinated efforts with public health department are needed to educate the focused groups and mitigating the barriers identified in the study. Long term impact will be reduced overall burden of the disease in the region.

Diabetic Retinopathy(DR)is a common complication of diabetes mellitus that causes lesions on the retina that affect *** detection of DR can lead to irreversible *** manual diagnosis process of DR retina fundus images by ophthalmologists is time consuming and ***,Classical Transfer learning models are extensively used for computer aided detection of DR;however,their maintenance costs limits detection performance ***,Quantum Transfer learning is a better option to address this problem in an optimized *** significance of Hybrid quantum transfer learning approach includes that it performs ***,our proposed methodology aims to detect DR using a hybrid quantum transfer learning *** build our model we extract the APTOS 2019 Blindness Detection dataset from Kaggle and used inception-V3 pre-trained classical neural network for feature extraction and Variational Quantum classifier for stratification and trained our model on Penny Lane default device,IBM Qiskit BasicAer device and Google Cirq Simulator *** models are built based on PyTorch machine learning *** bring about a contrast performance rate between classical and quantum *** proposed model achieves an accuracy of 93%–96%on the quantum hybrid model and 85%accuracy rate on the classical ***,quantum computing can harness quantum machine learning to do work with power and efficiency that is not possible for classical computers.

Plant extract-loaded bacterial cellulose composite membrane for potential biomedical applications

Bacterial cellulose(BC)has been extensively explored as biomaterial for various biomedical applications owing to its non-toxic nature and unique structural morphology and impressive physicochemical and mechanical ***,its high production cost and lack of antimicrobial activity have restricted its large-scale production and therapeutic ***,the current study is aimed to devise a strategy for low-cost BC production and develop its composite with bioactive materials to bless it with antimicrobial ***,5 mm thick reticulated fibrous and highly porous BC was produced by utilizing the wasted rotten tomatoes as the production *** produced bacterial cellulose waste(BCW)(i.e.,produced from wastes)was ex-situ modified with bioactive plant extract(PE)obtained from Euclea schimperi,and the bactericidal activity of the developed BCW/PE was evaluated against Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus and Gram-negative Escherichia coli through disc diffusion and colony forming unit(CFU)count *** BCW/PE composite showed high bactericidal activities against *** and produced clear inhibition zone whereas negligible activity was observed against ***,indicating its bactericidal activity mainly against the Gram-positive ***,this study illustrates that there is a huge potential for developing valuable biomaterials from food wastes and utilizing their liquid holding capabilities for value-added applications in medical and pharmaceutical fields.

This study finds out seasonal and monthly variations in Aerosol Optical Depth(AOD)over eastern and western routes of China Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC)and the relationship between AOD and meteorological parameters(i.e.,temperature,rainfall and wind speed).The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)and Multi-angle Imaging Spectroradiometer(MISR)data was used from the terra satellite for the period of *** study aims to overtake the conventional view of the purpose of using the satellite *** study takes on to the concept that validated satellite data sets rather should be used for the analysis instead of just validation specifically for our study ***,after comparing MODIS AOD with MISR AOD,only MISR AOD dataset is used for further *** results show a decreasing trend of AOD in summer season,a positive relationship between temperature and AOD during winter and spring seasons whereas a positive relationship between wind speed and AOD in winter and spring seasons over eastern and western *** analysis of MODIS AOD and MISR AOD depicts May-Aug as the peak period of aerosol concentration over central *** inter-annual analysis shows the aerosol trend remained higher during summer season however rainfall shows the washout *** route has higher standard deviation and larger values for aerosol prevalence as compared to western *** trajectory analysis using the HYSPLIT model suggests the bias of air mass trajectory caused deviation in the aerosol trend in the year 2014.

Dark Energy Models and Cosmic Acceleration with Anisotropic Universe in f(T) Gravity

This paper is devoted to studing the accelerated expansion of the universe in context of f（T） theory of gravity. For this purpose, we construct different f（T） models and investigate their cosmological behavior through equation of state parameter by using holographic, new agegraphic and their power-law entropy corrected dark energy models. We discuss the graphical behavior of this parameter versus redshif~ for particular values of constant parameters in Bianchi type I universe model. It is shown that the universe lies in different forms of dark energy, namely quintessence, phantom, and quintom corresponding to the chosen scale factors, which depend upon the constant parameters of the models.

Co-CoO_x supported onto TiO_(2) coated with carbon as a catalyst for efficient and stable hydrogen generation from ammonia borane

Ammonia borane(AB) can be catalytically hydrolyzed to provide hydrogen at room temperature due to its high potentaial for hydrogen storage. Non-precious metal heterogeneous catalysts have broad application in the field of energy catalysis. In this article, catalysts precursor is obtained from Co-Ti-resorcinol-formaldehyde resin by sol–gel method. Co/TiO_(2)@N-C(CTC) catalyst is prepared by calcining the precursor under high temperature conditions in nitrogen atmosphere. Co-CoO_x/TiO_(2)@N-C(COTC) is generated by the controllable oxidation reaction of CTC. The catalyst can effectively promote the release of hydrogen during the hydrolytic dehydrogenation of AB. High hydrogen generation at a specific rate of 5905 m L min^(-1) g_(Co)^(-1) is achieved at room temperature. The catalyst retains its 85% initial catalytic activity even for its fifth time use in AB hydrolysis. The synergistic effect among Co, Co_(3)O_(4) and TiO_(2) promotes the rate limiting step with dissociation and activation of water molecules by reducing its activation energy. The applied method in this study promotes the development of non-precious metals in catalysis for utilization in clean energy sources.
