The curing behavior of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A （DGEBA） with different phosphorus containing diamidediimide-tetraamines （DADITAs） was studied by DSC. Eight DADITAs of varying structures were synthesized by reacting 1 mole of pyromellitic anhydride （PMDA）/3,3＇-benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride （BTDA）/1,4,5,8-naphthalene tetraearboxylic dianhydride （NTDA）/4,4＇-oxydiphthalic anhydride （ODPA） with 2 mole of L-tryptophan （T） in a mixture of acetic acid and pyridine （3：2 V/V） followed by activaton with thionyl chloride and then condensation with excess of phosphorus containing triamines tris（3-aminophenyl） phosphine （TAP） and tris（3-aminophenyl） phosphine oxide （TAPO）. DADITAs obtained by reacting PMDA/BTDA/NTDA/ODPA with L-tryptophan followed by condensation with TAP/TAPO were designated as PTAP, PTAPO, BTAP, BTAPO, NTAP, NTAPO, OTAP and OTAPO respectively. The structural characterization of synthesized DADITAs was done by FTIR, ~H-NMR, I3C-NMR, 31p-NMR spectroscopic techniques and elemental analysis. Thermal stability of the isothermally cured epoxy was investigated using dynamic thermogravimetry analysis. The glass transition temperature （Tg） was highest in DGEBA cured using PTAP. All epoxy thermosets exhibited excellent flame retardancy, moderate changes in Tg and thermal stability. Due to presence of phosphorus in curing agents, all epoxy resin systems met the UL-94 V-0 classification and the limiting oxygen index （LOI） reached up to 38.5, probably because of the nitrogen-phosphorus synergistic effect.

Diabetes has become a major concern nowadays and its complications are affecting various organs of a diabetic patient. Therefore, a multi-dimensional technique including all parameters is required to detect the cause, its proper diagnostic procedure and its prevention. In this present work, a technique has been introduced that seeks to build an implementation for the intelligence system based on neural networks. Moreover, it has been described that how the proposed technique can be used to determine the membership together with the non-membership functions in the intuitionistic environment. The dataset has been obtained from Pima Indians Diabetes Database (PIDD). In this work, a complete diagnostic procedure of diabetes has been introduced with seven layered structural frameworks of an Intuitionistic Neuro Sugeno Fuzzy System (INSFS). The first layer is the input, in which six factors have been taken as an input variable. Subsequently, a neural network framework has been developed by constructing IFN for all the six input variables, and then this input has been fuzzified by using triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. In this work, we have introduced a novel optimization technique for the parameters involved in the INSFS. Moreover, an inference system has also been framed for the neural network known as INFS. The results have also been given in the form of tables, which describe each concluding factor.

Evaluating spatial and elevation-wise daytime/nighttime LST trends across the Indus River Basin

Land surface temperature(LST)is a crucial parameter for understanding the Earth's surface energy balance,which provides insights into climate dynamics and local environmental ***,the present study aims to evaluate the spatial and elevation-wise trends in the daytime,nighttime,and mean LST across the Indus River Basin(IRB)using MODIS 8-day product for the period between 2002 and *** elevation,cloud cover,and land cover type data are used for explaining the emerging LST *** Theil slope estimator and MannKendall significance test were used for estimating the seasonal and annual LST *** findings show warming in mean daytime(0.020-0.024℃/yr)(except winter and post-monsoon),nighttime(0.013-0.049℃/yr),and mean(0.001-0.042℃/yr)LST in all the seasons(highest in monsoon).The annual mean nighttime LST(0.025℃/yr)is rising significantly faster than the mean daytime LST(0.0016℃/yr),showing the presence of a“nighttime warming effect”,which possibly increases human discomfort,particularly during the warm pre-monsoon and humid monsoon ***-dependent warming(EDW)is predominant in mean daytime LST in two elevation zones,namely(i)0-3 km and(ii)above 4 km,in all seasons,except in *** contrast,EDW in mean nighttime LST is observed up to 3 km and above 6 km in the basin in all the seasons,excluding *** warming trend in LST may be attributed to rising atmospheric moisture,cloud cover,declining snow cover,and changes in land cover to non-vegetated ***,further investigations will involve exploring the underlying factors contributing to the observed anomalies in nighttime LST,considering variables such as regional energy balance and atmospheric *** research contributes to an understanding of the thermal dynamics in the mountain basin,aiding in climate studies,land management,and the development of effective adaptation strategies in the IRB.

Mineral and bone disorder(MBD)in chronic kidney disease(CKD)is tightly linked to cardiovascular disease(CVD).In this study,we aimed to compare the prognostic value of nine MBD biomarkers to determine those associated best with adverse cardiovascular(CV)outcomes and *** 5217 participants of the German CKD(GCKD)study enrolled with an estimated glomerular filtration rate(eG FR)between 30–60 mL·min-1 per 1.73 m2 or overt proteinuria,serum osteoprotegerin(OPG),C-terminal fibroblast growth factor-23(FGF23),intact parathyroid hormone(iP TH),bone alkaline phosphatase(BAP),cross-linked C-telopeptide of type 1 collagen(CTX1),procollagen 1intact N-terminal propeptide(P1NP),phosphate,calcium,and 25-OH vitamin D were measured at *** with missing values among these parameters(n=971)were excluded,leaving a total of 4246 participants for *** a median follow-up of6.5 years,387 non-CV deaths,173 CV deaths,645 nonfatal major adverse CV events(MACEs)and 368 hospitalizations for congestive heart failure(CHF)were *** and FGF23 were associated with all outcomes,with the highest hazard ratios(HRs)for *** the final Cox regression model,adjusted for CV risk factors,including kidney function and all other investigated biomarkers,each standard deviation increase in OPG was associated with non-CV death(HR 1.76,95%CI:1.35–2.30),CV death(HR 2.18,95%CI:1.50–3.16),MACE(HR 1.38,95%CI:1.12–1.71)and hospitalization for CHF(HR 2.05,95%CI:1.56–2.69).Out of the nine biomarkers examined,stratification based on serum OPG best identified the CKD patients who were at the highest risk for any adverse CV outcome and mortality.

Three ethylene diurea （EDU） concentrations （0, 150 and 300 mg/L） were used to evaluate the negative impact of ozone （O3） on two cultivars of Trifoliurn repens L. cv. Vardan and Bundel grown under natural field conditions in a suburban area of Varanasi, India. Mean O3 concentrations varied from 30.3 to 46.6 μg/L during the experimental period. Higher photosynthetic pigments and ascorhic acid concentrations were noticed in both EDU-treated cultivars over non-EDU-treated ones, but a reverse trend was found for lipid peroxidation. Growth parameters and biomass also showed increments under EDU treatment of both cultivars. The ratio of variable fluorescence to maximum fluorescence increased significantly in Vardan but not in Bundel upon EDU treatment. Results revealed that EDU concentration of 300 mg/L was more effective to combat the oxidative stress as well as protecting plants from O3 injury symptoms. The test cultivar Vardan is relatively sensitive to O3, thereby can be used as a bioindicator of O3 pollution in areas having higher O3 concentrations. Results also indicated that Bundel has more efficient antioxidant defense system than Vardan and hence was more tolerant to O3 stress.

In this biographical account, I recall my scientific journey that began in 1961 when I joined as a Physics Trainee in the BARC Training School and after one year course was admitted in TIFR as a Research Associate. During 1962–1967, I worked on determination of the He^3 /He^4 ratio in cosmic rays using a gas Cerenkov counter and also used a scintillation + solid Cerenkov detector to measure flux of protons and helium nuclei in primary cosmic rays. I also developed a large area scintillation-Cerenkov detector with a spark chamber between them for measuring charge composition of primary cosmic rays. I joined the X-ray astronomy programme in 1967 initiated by Prof. B. V. Sreekantan and played a leading role in developing a balloon borne hard X-ray instrument for studying time variability and energy spectra of cosmic X-ray sources. We carried out a series of balloon experiments and studied temporal intensity variation and energy spectra of X-ray objects like Sco X-1, Cyg X-1, etc. Results on rapid intensity changes and spectra appeared in a series of publications based on which I obtained a Ph.D. degree in 1972. Immediately afterwards, I joined Prof. Gordon Garmire at Caltech as a Research Fellow (a post-doctoral position) to work with him on the low energy component of HEAO A-2 experiment. The instrument was developed and successfully realised. Working on this satellite experiment was a thrilling experience which exposed me to the technical complexities of space instruments. The HEAO-1 satellite was launched in 1978. During 1978–1979, Guenter Riegler and I, working at JPL, reported detection of intense soft X-rays from several classes of extragalactic and Galactic objects like new BL Lacs, a new AM Her binary, coronal X-rays from active stars, etc. After returning to TIFR, I developed a rocket experiment with K. In this paper,a new design method for digital infinite impulse response(IIR)filters with nearly linear-phase response is presented using fractional derivative constraints(FDCs).In the proposed method,design problem of an IIR frlter is constructed as the minimization of phase error between the desired and designed phase response of an allpass filter(APF)such that the designed lowpass filter(LPF)or highpass frlter(HPF)yields less passband(ep),and stopband errors(es)with optimal stopband attenuation(As).In order to have accurate passband(pb)response,FDCs are imposed on appropriate reference frequency,where the optimality of these FDCs are ensured by using a new greedy based sorting *** simulated results reflect the efficiency of the proposed method in term of improved passband response along with better transition ***,small reduction in^is observed within the allowable limit,when compared to noin-fractional design approach,but the designed filter remains immune to wordlength(WL)effect.
