Low-field-induced spin-glass behavior and controllable anisotropy in nanoparticle assemblies at a liquid-air interface

Stacking nanoscale-building blocks into onedimensional(1D)assemblies with collective physical properties is a frontier in designing ***,the formation of 1D arrays using weak magnetic fields and an in-depth understanding of their magnetic properties remain ***,low-dimensional assemblies of iron oxide nanocubes with a disordered arrangement are fabricated at the diethylene-glycol/air interface in the presence of assembly fields(0/1/3/5/30/50 mT).Ring-shaped assemblies gradually transform as the assembly field increases from 0 to 50 mT,first to a porous network consisting of elongated assemblies and then to an aligned array of filaments,in which the aligned filaments are formed when the assembly field is≥3 mT and duration t>14 ***-glass characteristics and static(dynamic)anisotropy factors~2(3)are achieved by tuning the strength of the assembly *** the presence of a relatively weak assembly field,the interplay between dipolar interactions and disorder with respect to magnetic easy axis alignment leads to spin-glass *** alignment of the magnetic easy axes and the strength of the dipolar interactions increase with increasing assembly field,resulting in the disappearance of spin-glass characteristics and enhancement of the magnetic *** study presents a strategy for obtaining magnetic assemblies with spin-glass behavior and controllable anisotropy while shedding light on the magnetic interactions of low-dimensional assemblies.

Nitrogen-based fertilizers differentially affect protist community composition in paddy field soils

Protists are one of the most diverse and dominant microbial groups and they play critical roles in the soil *** nitrogen fertilizers have a profound impact on protist communities,still less is known about how different nitrogen fertilizer types affect protist community composition in different soil *** we investigated the effects of six inorganic nitrogen fertilizers(urea,ammonium nitrate,ammonium sulfate,potassium nitrate,ammonium chloride,and diammonium hydrogen phosphate)and an organic fertilizer(a mixture of rice husk and cow manure)on protist community composition in three paddy field soils using a high-throughput sequencing *** effect of the fertilizers on the functional groups of protists,namely consumers(predators and decomposers),photoautotrophs,and parasites(plant pathogens and animal parasites)was also *** results showed that nitrogen fertilizers had distinctive effects on the beta diversity of the protists,while we also observed that the same fertilizer had slightly different effects depending on the soil *** and Rhizaria were the most affected protist taxonomical groups,while predatory protists were the main functional groups that were affected by nitrogen *** forest analysis showed that most of the fertilizer-affected protists were predators,among which Cercozoa was the most affected *** conclusion,our results provide important insights into the impact of nitrogen fertilizers on soil protist communities.

Heat and mass transfer of a circular-shaped porous moist object inside a two-dimensional triangle cavity is investigated by using finite element *** porous object is considered to be a moist food sample,located in the middle of the cavity with inlet and outlet ports with different configurations of inlet/outlet *** drying performance is numerically assessed for different values of Reynolds numbers(between 50 and 250),dry air inlet temperature(between 40 and 80℃)and different locations of the *** is observed that changing the port locations has significant impacts on the flow recirculaitons inside the triangular chamber while convective drying performance is highly *** moisture content reduces with longer time and for higher Reynolds number(Re)*** P4 where inlet and outlet ports are in the middle of the walls provides the most effective configuration in terms of convective drying performance while the worst case is seen for P1 case where inlet and outlet are closer to the corners of the *** is a 192% difference between the moisture reduction of these two cases at Re=250,T=80℃ and t=120 min.

采用有限元方法研究了圆形多孔湿介质在二维三角形腔内的传热传质问题。所研究的多孔介质是一个潮湿的食品样品，位于配置不同位置的进口和出口的腔体的中间。对不同雷诺数(Re 50～250)、干风入口温度(40～80℃)和不同端口位置的对流干燥性能进行了数值模拟评价。结果表明，改变孔位对三角腔内的再循环有显著影响，对流干燥性能受到较大影响。随着时间的延长和雷诺数的增加，含水率减少。进口和出口端口位于壁面中间的P4情况具有最好的干燥性能，最差的情况是进口和出口更靠近腔室的角落P1情况。在Re=250、T=80℃、t=120 min时，两种材料的减湿量相差192%。

BACKGROUND We planned this study considering that complications of deep neck infections can be seriously life *** To raise awareness that introthoracic complications and necrotizing fasciitis are causes of serious mortality and *** This study was carried out with the participation of 188 patients who were treated at Mersin University Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at January 1,*** the patient files were retrospectively examined,16 of 188 patients(8.5%)were included in the study because they were observed to have necrotizing fasciitis and/or intrathoracic *** There were a total of 16 patients in this study,9 males(56.25%)and 7 females(43.75%).All patients were adults(>18 years)and the mean age was 50.37 years±15.37 *** patients had a mean age of 40.42 years±13.38 years,whereas for male patients was 58.11 years±12.44 *** Patients with necrotizing fasciitis and/or intrathoracic complications require more complicated and serious surgeries,intensive care unit monitoring,and mechanical ventilator *** rates of morbidity and mortality should be expected in Bal KK et *** neck infections mortal complications WJCC https://*** 6384 October 26,2024 Volume 12 Issue 30 these patients who are hospitalized for longer periods of time.

Field reconnaissance of the 2007 Niigata-Chuetsu Oki earthquake

As part of the 2007 Tri-Center Field Mission to Japan, a reconnaissance team comprised of fourteen graduate students and three faculty members from three U.S. earthquake engineering research centers, namely, Multidisciplinary Center for Earthquake Engineering Research （MCEER）, Mid-America Earthquake Center （MAE）, and Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center （PEER）, undertook a reconnaissance visit to the affected area shortly after the 2007 Niigata- Chuetsu Oki earthquake. This mission provided an opportunity to review the nature of the earthquake damage that occurred, as well as to assess the significance of the damage from an educational perspective. This paper reports on the seismological characteristics of the earthquake, preliminary findings of geotechnical and structural damage, and the causes of the observed failures or collapses. In addition, economic and socio-economic considerations and experiences to enhance earthquake resilience are presented.

SOM approach for clustering customers using credit card transactions

Universal usability evaluation by using an integrated fuzzy multi criteria decision making approach

Comparative 2-year outcomes of conventional and accelerated corneal collagen crosslinking in progressive keratoconus

AIM:To compare the safety and efficacy of conventional versus accelerated(9 mW/cm^2)corneal collagen crosslinking(CXL)in progressive keratoconus at the 2-year ***:In this prospective study,consecutive progressive keratoconus patients were randomized to receive either conventional CXL(CCXL)or accelerated CXL(ACXL;using hydroxypropyl methylcellulose-assisted riboflavin imbibition for 10 min at 9 mW/cm^2).Visual,refractive,keratometric,topographic,and aberrometric outcomes and stromal demarcation line depth(DLD)measurements were compared at the end of a 2-year ***:Thirty-two eyes from 32 patients in the CCXL and 27 eyes from 27 patients in the ACXL groups completed 2-year *** 2y post-CXL,both uncorrected and corrected visual acuities improved significantly in both *** improvements in keratometric readings,flattening rate(flattening of the maximum keratometry more than 1 D),3 topographic indices,and vertical coma were significantly better in the CCXL group compared to the ACXL group(P<0.05).The DLD as measured by anterior segment optical coherence tomography or in vivo confocal microscopy was better detectable and significantly deeper in the CCXL group compared to the ACXL *** deeper DLD was found to be significantly correlated with improvements in the mean keratometry *** was noted in 11.1%of eyes in the ACXL group,whereas progression was not observed in any patient eye in the CCXL ***:In this prospective randomized study,ACXL is less effective in halting the progression of keratoconus at a 2-year follow-up compared to CCXL.

A comparative analysis of text representation, classification and clustering methods over real project proposals
