Empirical comparison of the effects of other party's vehicle type on motorcyclists' injury severity

This research explores the various factors influencing the severity of injuries motorcyclists sustain across different collision scenarios. The study considers the types of vehicles involved, including motorcycle(MC), cars, pickup trucks, vans, and trucks. The study is grounded in an analysis of road crashes in Thailand from 2016 to 2019. Recognizing the unique characteristics inherent in each collision type, the study categorizes crashes into six distinct models for a comprehensive analysis. Each model is constructed using the random parameter logit with unobserved heterogeneity in means. Notably, all models incorporate random parameters, with the exception of the MC vs. truck model. Despite some consistent factors across most models, there are noteworthy variations in parameters when comparing different vehicle types. In the context of single-motorcycle crashes,speed limit violation emerges as a critical factor. For the MC vs. MC model, crashes happening from midnight to early morning are significant. The presence of a passenger(pillion) is a key determinant in the MC vs. car model. Meanwhile, in the MC vs. pickup truck model, crashes occurring under poor light conditions from midnight to early morning are of particular importance. The MC vs. van model notably highlights the involvement of male riders. Lastly, the MC vs. truck model draws attention to crashes happening on weekends. By creating specific crash models for diverse vehicle types, this study enhances our understanding of motorcycle crashes. The findings provide valuable insights to inform the development of policies, the design of safety campaigns, the creation of training programs, and the evaluation of road safety.

IrO2-TiO2 thin films were prepared by atomic layer deposition using Ir（EtCp）（COD） and titanium isopropoxide （TTIP）. The resistivity of IrO2-TiO2 thin films can be easily controlled from 1 500 to 356.7 μΩ·cm by the IrO2 intermixing ratio from 0.55 to 0.78 in the IrO2-TiO2 thin films. The low temperature coefficient of resistance（TCR） values can be obtained by adopting IrO2-TiO2 composite thin films. Moreover, the change in the resistivity of IrO2-TiO2 thin films was below 10% even after O2 annealing process at 600 ℃. The step stress test results show that IrO2-TiO2 films have better characteristics than conventional TaN08 heater resistor. Therefore, IrO2-TiO2 composite thin films can be used as a heater resistor material in thermal inkjet printhead.

This study summarized the procedure for the seasonal predictions of tropical cyclones(TCs)over the western North Pacific(WNP),which is currently operating at the Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA),Republic of *** methodology was briefly described,and its prediction accuracy was *** predictions were produced by synthesizing spatiotemporal evolutions of various climate factors such as El Ni no–Southern Oscillation(ENSO),monsoon activity,and Madden–Julian Oscillation(MJO),using four models:a statistical,a dynamical,and two statistical–dynamical *** KMA forecaster predicted the number of TCs over the WNP based on the results of the four models and season to season climate *** seasonal prediction of TCs is announced through the press twice a year,for the summer on May and fall on *** present results showed low accuracy during the period 2014–*** advance forecast skill,a set of recommendations are suggested.

非物质文化遗产(以下简称“非遗”)是中华优秀传统文化重要组成部分,其传播更是国家法律法规层面业已承认并予以支持的保护和传承措施之一,特别是在现今媒介环境中,非遗的新媒体传播既是不可逆转的时代趋势,又是国家、社会和学界不得不着手的社会课题。该文从非遗研究的宏观视角出发,以时序划分非遗传播不同研究阶段并予以归纳分析,继而聚焦于非遗新媒体传播,分析当下“出圈”的非遗短视频的研究现状,以整体呈现非遗传播的研究进展、局限与未来发展方向,为中国非遗保护、传承提供一些传播层面的参考与借鉴。当下,非遗新媒体传播研究虽取得相关成绩,但是其研究仍需进一步深化,特别是在理论与实践的结合、跨学科视角的推进、传播效果的经验分析以及国际传播等方面。
