Recently,grea. a.tention ha. been pa.d to geopolymer concrete due to its a.va.ta.eous mecha.ica. a.d environmenta.ly friendly *** effort ha. been ma.e in experimenta. studies to a.va.ce the understa.ding of geopolymer concrete,in which compressive strength is one of the most importa.t *** fa.ilita.e engineering work on the ma.eria.,a. efficient predicting model is *** this study,three ma.hine lea.ning(ML)-ba.1}d models,na.ely deep neura. network(DNN),K-nea.est neighbors(KNN),a.d support vector ma.hines(SVM),a.e developed for foreca.ting the compressive strength of the geopolymer concrete.a.tota. of 375 experimenta. sa.ples a.e collected from the litera.ure to build a.da.a.a.1} for the development of the predicting models.a.ca.eful procedure for da.a.preprocessing is implemented,by which outliers a.e exa.ined a.d removed from the da.a.a.1} a.d input va.ia.les a.e sta.da.dized before feeding to the fitting *** sta.da.d K-fold cross-va.ida.ion a.proa.h is a.plied for eva.ua.ing the performa.ce of the models so tha. overfitting sta.us is well ma.a.ed,thus the genera.iza.ility of the models is *** effectiveness of the models is a.sessed via.sta.istica. metrics including root mea. squa.ed error(RMse),mea. a.solute error(Ma.),correla.ion coefficient(R),a.d the recently proposed performa.ce index(PI).The ba.ic mea. squa.e error(Mse)is used a. the loss function to be minimized during the model fitting *** three ML-ba.1}d models a.e successfully developed for estima.ing the compressive strength,for which good correla.ions between the predicted a.d the true va.ues a.e obta.ned for DNN,KNN,a.d *** numerica. results suggest tha. the DNN model genera.ly outperforms the other two models.
