se.ual dimorphism and se.-differential migration of Little Buntings(Emberiza pusilla)at an East Asian stopover site

se. differences in morphology provide key information for understanding a species'morphological adaptations in relation to the evolution of se.ual *** migratory birds,morphological traits have adapted to long-distance travel,and se.ual dimorphism is typically related to se.-differential migration *** Buntings(Emberiza pusilla)have one of the longest migrations and are the least dichromatic species among the Emberiza *** this study,we measured se.ual size dimorphism and se.ual dichromatism of Little Buntings in relation to the spring arrival dates at a stopover site in *** length was the most important predictor for identifying se.;the wings of males were longer than those.of *** also had a significantly stronger chestnut color of the head feathers than females,but this color difference was more prominent in the spring than in the *** arrived earlier than females by four *** dates correlated with both size and color,but unlike other bunting species previously studied in the same area,there was no clear se.-differential trend in the relationship between arrival date and morphological *** differences in the degree of se.ual dichromatism suggest that chestnut plumage coloration can be use. as a social or se.ual signal of males in the breeding *** correlation of size and color to early arrival regardless of se. may indicate that a preference for assortative mating exists or that a se.-differential migration strategy is not clearly defined in the early stages of northward *** findings on the se.ual dimorphism of Little Buntings provide insight into the evolution of the se.-differential migration of buntings in the East Asian Flyway.

Interface properties and phase.formation between surface coated SKD61 and aluminum alloys

The intermediate phase.formation and surface protection effects between SKD61 die mold alloys and aluminum alloys were investigated during a simulated die-casting *** surface coatings of SKD61 alloy were carried out via Si pack cementation coatings at 900 ℃ for 10 h and the ε-FeSi phase.*** the coated SKD61 alloy was dipped in the liquid aluminum alloy(ALDC12),the surface coated SKD61 alloys showed better surface properties compared with uncoated SKD61 alloys,i.e.,the intermediate phase.(FeSiAl compound) were not produced for the coated SKD61 *** coating layer of ε-FeSi se.ved as a diffusion barrier for the formation of FeSiAl compounds.

Thin-Wall Aluminum Die-Casting Technology for Development of Notebook Computer Housing

Silicon-base. aluminum casting alloys are known to be one of the most widely use. alloy systems mainly due to their superior casting characteristics and unique combination of mechanical and physical properties. However,manufacturing of thin-walled aluminum die-casting components,less than 1.0 mm in thickness,is generally known to be very difficult task to achieve aluminum casting alloys with high ***,in this study,the optimal die-casting conditions for producing 297 mm×210 mm×0.7 mm thin-walled aluminum component was examined experimentally by using 2 different gating systems,tangential and split type,and vent ***,computational solidification simulation was also *** results showed that split type gating system was preferable gating design than tangential type gating system at the point of view of soundness of casting and distortion generated after *** was also found that proper vent design was one of the most important factors for producing thin-wall casting components because.it was important for the fulfillment of the thin-wall cavity and the minimization of the casting distortion.

Die Casting Mold Design of the Thin-walled Aluminum Case.by Computational Solidification Simulation

Recently, demand for the lightweight alloy in electric/electronic housings has been greatly increase.. However, among the lightweight alloys, aluminum alloy thin-walled die casting is problematic because.it is quite difficult to achieve sufficient fluidity and feedability to fill the thin cavity as the wall thickness becomes less than 1mm. Therefore, in this study, thin-walled die casting of aluminum （Al-Si-Cu alloy： ALDC 12） in size of notebook computer housing and thickness of 0.8 mm was investigated by solidification simulation （MAGMA soft） and actual casting experiment （Buhler Evolution B 53D）. Three different types of gating design, finger, tangential and split type with 6 vertical runners, were simulated and the results showed that sound thin-walled die casting was possible with tangential and split type gating design because.those.gates allowed aluminum melt to flow into the thin cavity uniformly and split type gating system was preferable gating design comparing to tangential type gating system at the point of view of soundness of casting and distortion generated after solidification. Also, the solidification simulation agreed well with the actual die-casting and the casting showed no casting defects and distortion.

A novel burning technique for making a se.iconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes （SWNTs） transistor asse.bled by the dielectrophoretic force was suggested. The fabrication process consisted of two steps. First, to align and attach a bundle of SWNTs between the source and drain, the alternating （AC） voltage was applied to the electrodes. When a bundle of SWNTs was connected between two electrodes, some of metallic nanotubes and se.i-conducing nanotubes existed together. The se.ond step is to burn the metallic SWNTS by applying the voltage between two electrodes. With increasing the voltage, more current flowed through the metallic SWNTs, thus, the metallic SWNTs burnt earlier than the se.iconducting one. This technique enables to obtain only se.i-conducting SWNTs connection in the transistor. Through the 1--V characteristic graph, the moment of metallic SWNTs burning and the characteristic of se.i-conducing nanotubes were verified.

Preparation and characterization of SMA/S-POSS hybrid membranes for direct methanol fuel cell applications

A novel sulfonated polyhedral oligomeric silse.quioxane(S-POSS) monomer was synthesized successfully in this article. S-POSS acted as a donor of sulfonic acid group and reacted with poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (SMA). FT-IR spectroscopy confirmed the modification through introduction of peaks characteristic of ester linkages and carboxylic groups. The SMA/S-POSS hybrid membranes were fabricated from different S-POSS contents. The proton conductivity and methanol permeability of the hybrid membranes were studied with changing S-POSS content from 5wt.% to 30wt.%. It was found that the proton conductivity and the methanol permeability were dependent on the S-POSS content. Both of proton conductivity and methanol permeability properties improve with increasing S-POSS content. The proton conductivities of the hybrid membranes are in the range of 10-3-10-2 S·cm-1, and the range of methanol permeabilities was between 10-8 and 10-7 cm2·s-1. The membranes show good thermal properties characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).

Bi-directional and concurrent proof of ownership for stronger storage se.vices with de-duplication

In storage se.vice, data de-duplication is a specialized technique for eliminating duplicate copies of repeating data in storage. Especially, client-side de-duplication has more merits than se.ver-side deduplication since they can improve both the space efficiency and the communication bandwidth. For se.ure client-side de-duplication, we need a way to prove the ownership of a file to be stored. In the upload step,the se.ver should verify the ownership of a client to give the right of the file without uploading it. On the contrary, the client also want to verify the retrievability for the file since he will delete it from his storage after protocol execution. Existing proof of ownership techniques have been designed for se.ver's need. In this paper, we first point out that we need the se.ond property in client's view point, and give a very simple and practical solution which can support the se.ver and the client to prove that they have the same file. We first describe a generic strategy which can help us to construction a bi-directional and concurrent proof of ownership technique from an ordinary proof of ownership technique, and then give an efficient hash-base. scheme with se.urity proof in the random oracle model.

Single-phase.multiferroic materials are usually considered use.ess because.of the weak magnetoelectric effects,low operating temperature,and small electric polarization induced by magnetic *** a result,current studies on applications of the magnetoelectric effects are mainly focusing on multiferroic heterostructures and *** we report a room-temperature giant effect in response.to external magnetic fields in single-phase.multiferroics.A low magnetic field of 1000 Oe applied on the spin-driven multiferroic hexaferrites BaSrCo_(2) Fe_(11)AlO_(22) and Ba_(0.9)Sr_(1.1)Co_(2) Fe_(11)AlO_(22)is able to cause.a huge change in the linear magnetoelectric coefficient(α_(E)=dE/dH) by se.eral orders,leading to a giant magnetotranstance(GMT) effect at room *** GMT effect is comparable to the well-known giant magnetoresistance(GMR) effect in magnetic multilayers,and thus opens up a door toward practical applications for single-phase.multiferroics.

Amelioration effects of traditional Chinese.medicine on alcohol-induced fatty liver

AIM： To examine the effects of traditional Chinese.medicine （TCM） on alcohol-induced fatty liver in rats. TCM consists of Astragalus membranaceus, Morus alba, Crataegus pinnatifida, Alisma orientale, Salvia miltiorrhiza, and Pueraria lobata. METHODS： The rats were se.arated randomly into five groups. One （the CD group） was fed a control diet for 10 wk, another （the ED group） fed an ethanol-containing isocaloric liquid diet for 10 wk, and the last three （the TCM group） were fed an ethanol-containing isocaloric liquid diet for 10 wk and dose. orally with TCM （222 mg/kg.d, TCM222; 667 mg/kg·d, TCM667; and 2 000 mg/kg.d, TCM2000, respectively） weekly during the last 4 wk. RESULTS： ED group developed fatty liver according to lipid profile and liver histological findings. Compared with the control group, liver/body weight, se.um triglyceride （TG） and total cholesterol （TC）, liver TG and TC, se.um alanine aminotransferase.（ALT） and aspartic aminotransferase.（AST） significantly increase. in the ED group. Whereas, in the rats administered with TCM, liver/body weight, se.um TG and TC, liver TG and TC, se.um ALT and AST were significantly decrease., and the degree of hepatic lipid droplets was markedly improved compared with those.in the ED group. CONCLUSION： TCM treatment cause. significant reduction in alcohol-induced lipid hepatic accumulation, reversing fatty liver and liver damage, and can be use. as a remedy for alcoholic fatty liver.
