In higher plants,the self-incompatibility mechanism is important for inhibition of self-fertilization and facilitation of *** Brassicaceae,the self-incompatibility response is mediated by allele-specific interaction of the stigma-localized S-locus receptor kinase(SRK)with the pollen coat-localized ligand(SCR/SP11).All self-incompatible Brassicaceae plants analyzed have been found to have the SRK and SCR/SP11 genes in the S-locus *** Arabidopsis thaliana is self-compatible,transformation with functional SRK-SCR genes from self-incompatible Arabidopsis species confers the self-incompatibility phenotype to *** allele-specific interaction between SRK and SCR activates the downstream signaling cascade of *** two-hybrid analysis with a kinase domain of SRK as bait and genetic analysis suggested several candidate components of self-incompatibility signaling in ***,*** genes orthologous to the identified genes for Brassica self-incompatibility signaling were evaluated by using a self-incompatible transgenic *** plant and these orthologous genes were found not to be involved in self-incompatibility signaling in the transgenic *** this review,we describe common and different aspects of S-locus genomic regions and self-incompatibility signaling between Brassica and Arabidopsis.

This study aims to identify medicinal plants traditionally used to treat diseases by local people living in Güce district,north-eastern *** study was carried out between 2018 and 2021 using a two-part semi-structured,open-ended questionnaire with 165 local *** were analysed using use-report,frequency of citation,and informant consensus *** identified 128 vascular medicinal plant taxa belonging to 54 families and 106 *** most common plant taxa belong to Rosaceae(16 taxa/12.5%),Asteraceae(12 taxa/9.4%),and Lamiaceae(9 taxa/7%)*** most frequently used preparation method reported was decoction(39.8%);the most commonly utilized plant parts were leaves(40.3%).Statistical analysis reveals that women in Güce district(df?163,p?0.043sess the most traditional *** highest frequency of citation(61)and use report(92)were recorded for Tilia rubra ***,and the highest informant consensus factors were cited for respiratory system disorders(0.86),digestive system disorders(0.73),and skin disorders(0.71).This study reported nine plant taxa as medicinal plants for the first time,and documented a total of 293 new therapeutic ***,the study indicates that the transfer of traditional knowledge to future generations is limited(F?3.355,p?0.020).Action should be taken as soon as possible to preserve existing traditional knowledge and to ensure its transfer to future generations.

Four kinds of polythiophenes have been doped with CH3SO3H in CHCl3 under air,oxygen,and nitrogen. In the doping of two types of poly(3-hexylthiophene)s,P3HexTh(Zn/Ni)and P3HexTh(Fe)with different contents of a head-to-tail unit,the p-doping occurs at a similar *** reaction between poly(3-dodecylthiophene),P3DodTh,and the acid takes place more rapidly.P3OBuTh with a butoxy substituent undergoes more facile p-doping and receives photochemical reaction with CHCl3,and this reaction obeys a pseudo-first-order rate law with a rate constant kobs of 1.42×10-5s-1at room tempera- ture.

Al-Cu-Fe thin films were prepared by laser induced arc (laser-arc) method from a single source-Al63Cu25Fe12 alloy, which was proved to consist of quasicrystalline phase together with approximant phase. The composition of the deposited films meets the requirement for formation of icosahedral symmetry phase. Quasicrystalline phase was obtained after annealing the amorphous as-deposit film samples. The optical properties of the samples were investigated. Thin film samples of Al, Cu and Fe deposited under the same condition were employed for comparison. The results showed specific reflective properties of Al-Cu-Fe quasicrystal thin film in some wavelength range. The optical conductivity of the films exhibited a negative peak, centered about 440 nm in range of 190to 800 nm. The Al-Cu-Fe quasicrystal thin films could absorb almost all the ray in the wavelength range from 420nm to 450 nm. The ratio of absorption was greater than 99%.

A 53-year-old man with a history of blood transfusion at the age of 20 was admitted to our hospital because of liver dysfunction. He had bronchial asthma when he was 18 years old, which naturally resolved within 2 years. However, his bronchial asthma recurred at the age of 45 and was treated with oral theophylline. He was diagnosed as having chronic hepatitis C based on the histological and clinical findings, and then interferon (IFN) therapy was administered. The frequency of bronchial asthma attack was gradually decreasing after IFN therapy with marked improvement of hypereosinophilia. He achieved sustained viral response (SVR) and his bronchial asthma did not worsen even after the cessation of IFN. Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and IFN therapy were considered in the remission of asthma in this case. HCV infection could be the cause of bronchial asthma, especially in patients with late appearance of asthma.

A study on the effect of the solar ultra-violet radiation on the human skin fibroblast cells revealed that the production of matrix metalloproteinase-2 was inhibited by the radiation.A CO2 incubator connected by optical fibers to a reflector telescope for collecting the solar light was built at Syowa station by the 49th Japanese Antarctica Research *** direction of the telescope was continuously controlled by a sun-tracker to follow the movement of the Sun *** intensity of the collected light was monitored by a portable spectrophotometer housed *** human skin fibroblast cells were incubated in the CO2 chamber to investigate the effect of the solar radiation at Syowa station and were compared with those reference experiments at a laboratory in *** results showed cell damage by strong UV *** production of matrix metalloproteinase-2 was prompted by the moderate UV-B,but was inhibited by the strong UV-B radiation,as studied under laboratory conditions in *** effect of strong solar radiation at Syowa station involving the radiation of UV-B region was estimated to be of the same extent of the radiation caused by an artificial UV-B light with the intensity more than 50 mJ/cm2.
