BACKGROUND Various reconstruction options have been introduced to treat decubitus ulcers.A combined flap that takes advantage of the fasciocutaneous and muscle flaps has been proven to be effective in reconstructing decubitus ulcers in previous ***,no studies have measured combined flap *** is the first study to demonstrate the superiority of the combined flap by measuring its thickness using enhanced abdominopelvic computed tomography(APCT).AIM To evaluate combined flap modality as a useful reconstruction option for decubitus ulcers using measurements obtained through *** Fifteen patients with paraplegia who underwent combined flap surgery for reconstruction of decubitus ulcers between March 2020 and December 2021 were *** defects in the skin and muscle components were reconstructed *** inner gluteus muscle flap was split and manipulated to obliterate dead *** outer fasciocutaneous flap was transposed to cover the muscle flap and opening of the decubitus ***,we performed enhanced APCT at 3 wk and 6 mo postoperatively to measure the flap *** The mean flap thickness was 32.85±8.89 mm at 3 wk postoperatively and 29.27±8.22 mm at 6 mo *** flap thickness was maintained without any major complications such as contour deformities or *** Although there was a significant decrease in flap thickness as measured by APCT,the combined flap provided sufficient padding and maintained its thickness even at 6 mo after reconstruction,suggesting that the combined flap modality may be a useful reconstruction option for patients with paraplegic decubitus ulcers.

BACKGROUND The nasal bone,being the most protruding bone in the center of the facial bones,is particularly susceptible to *** bone fractures can often result in secondary deformation and dysfunction of the nose,including septal *** on functional or intra-nasal complications have been rarely reported after nasal bone fracture *** To evaluate the severity of nasal obstruction and its improvement following nasal bone fracture reduction using inferior *** We conducted a retrospective review of data from 50 patients with symptomatic nasal obstruction between January to December *** patients underwent preoperative Computed tomography evaluation,and symptom changes and nasal cavity volume were analyzed using a visual analog scale and acoustic rhinometry before and after *** reduction and out-fracture of both inferior turbinates performed by the same *** outcomes were assessed by comparing changes in the nasal airway volume measured using acoustic rhinometry before and after *** minimal cross-sectional area(MCA)was also analyzed based on the Stranc *** Before reduction,the mean MCA for all cases was 0.59±0.06 cm^(2),which represented an 11%decrease compared to the average size of a Korean adult(0.65±0.03 cm^(2)).The MCA for frontal impact was 0.60±0.02 cm^(2) and for lateral impact,it was 0.58±0.03 cm^(2).After reduction via inferior turbinoplasty,the MCA improved to 0.64±0.04 cm^(2).CONCLUSION This study suggests that turbinoplasty is helpful in addressing nasal ***-fracture of the inferior turbinate is an effective and durable technique that can be easily performed to enlarge the nasal airway with minimal morbidity.

Doped two-dimensional(2D)materials hold significant promise for advancing many technologies,such as microelectronics,optoelectronics,and energy ***,n-type 2D oxidized Si nanosheets,namely n-type siloxene(n-SX),are employed as Li-ion battery *** thermal evaporation of sodium hypophosphite at 275℃,P atoms are effectively incorporated into siloxene(SX)without compromising its 2D layered morphology and unique Kautsky-type crystal ***,selective nucleophilic substitution occurs,with only Si atoms being replaced by P atoms in the O_(3)≡Si-H *** resulting n-SX possesses two delocalized electrons arising from the presence of two electron donor types:(i)P atoms residing in Si sites and(ii)H *** doping concentrations are varied by controlling the amount of precursors or their mean free *** at 2000 mA g^(-1),the n-SX electrode with the optimized doping concentration(6.7×10^(19) atoms cm^(-3))delivers a capacity of 594 mAh g^(-1) with a 73%capacity retention after 500 *** improvements originate from the enhanced kinetics of charge transport processes,including electronic conduction,charge transfer,and solid-state *** approach proposed herein offers an unprecedented route for engineering SX anodes to boost Li-ion storage.

(Hf,Zr)O_(2)offers considerable potential for next-generation semiconductor devices owing to its nonvolatile spontaneous polarization at the ***,scaling this material to sub-5 nm thickness poses several challenges,including the formation of an interfacial layer and high trap *** particular,a low-k SiO_(2)interfacial layer is naturally formed when(Hf,Zr)O_(2)films are directly grown on a Si substrate,leading to high depolarization fields and rapid reduction of the remanent *** address these issues,we conducted a study to significantly improve ferroelectricity and switching endurance of(Hf,Zr)O_(2)films with sub-5 nm thicknesses by inserting a TiO_(2)interfacial *** deposition of a Ti film prior to Hf_(0.5)Zr_(0.5)O_(2)film deposition resulted in a high-k TiO_(2)interfacial layer and prevented the direct contact of Hf_(0.5)Zr_(0.5)O_(2)with *** findings show that the high-k TiO_(2)interfacial layer can reduce the SiO_(2)/Si interface trap density and the depolarization field,resulting in a switchable polarization of 60.2μC/cm^(2)for a 5 nm thick Hf_(0.5)Zr_(0.5)O_(2)***,we propose that inserting a high-k TiO_(2)interfacial layer between the Hf_(0.5)Zr_(0.5)O_(2)film and the Si substrate may offer a promising solution to enhancing the ferroelectricity and reliability of(Hf,Zr)O_(2)grown on the Si substrate and can pave the way for next-generation semiconductor devices with improved performance.

Objective:To examine the inhibitory effect of Hydrangea serrata extract against hepatocellular carcinoma HepG2 cells and its underlying ***:The effects of Hydrangea serrata extract on growth inhibition of tumor cells and spheroids were assessed using MTT and 3D culture *** real-time PCR and Western blot analyses were employed to investigate the changes in mRNA and protein expression levels of molecules related to cell cycle and ***:Hydrangea serrata extract effectively inhibited the growth of both tumor cells and *** extract also significantly upregulated p27 mRNA expression and downregulated CDK2 mRNA expression,leading to cell cycle ***,increased BAX/Bcl-2 ratio as well as caspase-9 and-3 were observed after treatment with Hydrangea serrata extract,indicating the induction of tumor cell ***:Hydrangea serrata extract has the potential to alleviate tumors by effectively modulating cell-cycle-related gene expressions and inducing apoptosis,thereby inhibiting tumor growth.
