AIM:To investigate the clinicopathologic features of patients with extra-gastrointestinal stromal tumors(EGISTs)in South ***:A total of 51 patients with an EGIST were *** clinicopathologic features,including sex,age,location,tumor size,histology,mitotic rate,immunohistochemical features,genetic status and survival data,were ***:The median age was 55 years(range:29-80years),and male:female ratio was 1:*** most common site was in the mesentery(n=15)followed by the retroperitoneum(n=13)and omentum(n=8).The median tumor size was 9.0 cm(range:2.6-30.0cm)and the median mitotic rate was 5.0/50HPF.(1/50-185/50).KIT was analyzed in 16,which revealed 10cases with wild-type KIT and 6 cases with an exon *** 51 patients,31 patients had undergone surgery,and 10 had unresectable disease and had taken palliative imatinib,which resulted in 22.7 mo of progression-free *** the patients who had undergone surgery,18 did not take adjuvant imatinib,and 8 of these were categorized as"high risk"according to the risk ***,the relapse-free survival was not different(P=0.157)between two ***:Because the biologic behaviors of GISTs differ according to the location of the tumor,a more stratified strategy is required for managing EGISTs including incorporation of molecular features.

运用同样的样品采集和测试方法比较分析了我国的长江和黄河以及韩国的Keum和Yeongsan江的常量元素地球化学特征。韩国河流沉积物中Ca及碳酸盐含量显著低于长江和黄河,而其他元素含量则在二者之间;黄河沉积物以总无机碳(TIC)、Na和Ca含量高为特征,而长江沉积物则显著富集Ti和P。Keum和Yeongsan江沉积物中P、Ca、Fe和Mg在酸溶相中比例可达30%～66%,而K、Al和Ti则富集在残渣相中。韩国河流沉积物极低的Ca含量同流域缺乏碳酸盐源岩密切相关,其沉积物主要由侏罗-晚白垩纪的花岗岩经过中等程度的化学风化而成。虽然Ca在中韩河流沉积物之间含量差异显著,但必须谨慎运用全钙含量来识别海区物源。而沉积物中非碳酸盐态钙(Ca)及相应的K/Ca和Al/Ca比更适合用来示踪黄河及Keum和Yeongsan江沉积物;Ti则可以用来区分长江与其他河流沉积物。

Dual Channel SIS Receiver of Trao Telescope

We have developed the dual channel receiver with 100GHz and 150GHz band, which is used to make the simultaneous observation with two bands. The SIS mixers are used in both bands. The constructed dewar for receiver has the performance with the vacuum of 10 -8 Torr and the temperature of 4 2K. The receiver noise temperature is 50K (DSB) for 100GHz band and 80K (DSB) for 150GHz band ,respectively. In order to achieve the simultaneous observations, the quasioptical system is precisely designed, and also evaluated by the measurement in the laboratory. We have observed the various sources using this receiver since October 1998. The relative pointing offset between two bands is 3″.

Heterotic patterns in rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) using exotic germplasm for Chinese semi-winter hybrid breeding

Chinese semi-winter rapeseed,genetically differing from winter and spring rapeseed,has been considered to possess strong potential as parent in winter and spring rapeseed hybrid breeding programs. However,no detailed researches have been documented whether winter and spring rapeseed lines have potential for Chinese semiwinter rapeseed hybrid breeding. The objectives of this study are to estimate the potential of winter and spring rapeseed for semi-winter rapeseed hybrid breeding,and to investigate the association of general combining ability(GCA) with adaptation of parental lines by combining with the data in our previous studies. Four winter and four spring male sterile lines were crossed with 14 Chinese semi-winter rapeseed lines to develop 112 hybrids,which were evaluated together with their parents for seed yield under three environments in China. The exotic parental lines were not adapted to local environment as demonstrated by late flowering,low seed weight and poor seed yield per se. However,the hybrids,especially derived from winter rapeseed exhibited strong heterosis for seed yield,indicating that winter rapeseed germplasm has a great potential for rapeseed hybrid breeding in China. Our data suggested a strong association of GCA with their adaptation ability of parental lines,since high to middle correlations were found for local parental lines and low correlations for exotic parental lines under spring,winter and semi-winter eco-growth environments. The hybrid breeding program using exotic germplasm in rapeseed was discussed.

Lewis blood genotypes of peptic ulcer and gastric cancer patients in Taiwan

AIM: The Lewis b (Leb) antigen has been implicated as a possible binding site for attachment of Helicobacter pylori (H pylori)to gastric mucosa. However, studies both supporting and denying this association have been reported in the literature. Differences in secretor (se)genotype have been suggested as a possible reason for previous discrepancies. Therefore, we investigated the relationship between Le and se genotypes and H pylori infection rates in people with peptic ulcer or gastric ***: Peripheral blood samples were obtained from 347 patients with endoscopic evidence of peptic ulcer disease (235 cases of duodenal ulcer, 62 of gastric ulcer,and 50 of combined duodenal ulcer/gastric ulcer) and 51patients with gastric cancer on endoscopy. Peripheral blood specimens from 101 unrelated normal volunteers were used as controls. Lewis phenotype was determined using an antibody method, whereas Le and se genotypes were determined by DNA amplification and restriction enzyme analysis. Gastric or duodenal biopsies taken from patients with endoscopic evidence of peptic ulcer or gastric cancer were cultured for H pylori. Isolates were identified as H pylori by morphology and production of urease and catalase. The H pylori infection status was also evaluated by rapid urease test (CLO test), and urea breath test (13C-UBT). Results of studies were analyzed by chi-square test (taken as significant).RESULTS: H pyloriwas isolated from 83.7% (303/347)of patients with peptic ulcer disease. Statistical analysis did not show any significant difference in Lewis phenotype or genotype between patients with and without H pylori infection. AIM: By using comparative genomic hybridization, gain of 3q was found in 45-86% cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (EC-SCC). Chromosome 3q25.3-qter is the minimal common region with several oncogenes found within this region. However, amplification patterns of these genes in EC-SCC have never been reported. The possible association of copy number changes of these genes with pathologic characteristics is still not ***: Real-time quantitative PCR (Q-PCR) was performed to analyze the copy number changes of 13candidate genes within this region in 60 primary tumors of EC-SCC, and possible association of copy number changes with pathologic characteristics was analyzed by statistics. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) study was also performed on another set of 111 primary tumors of EC-SCC to verify the association between TP63 expression change and lymph node metastasis ***: The average copy numbers (±se) per haploid genome of individual genes in 60 samples were (from centromere to telomere): SSR3:4.19 (±0.69); CCNL1:5.24 (±0.67); SvC4L1: 2.01 (±0.16); EVI1: 2.02 (±0.12);hTERC: 5.28 (±0.54); SKIL: 2.71 (±0.14); EIF5A2: 1.95(±0.12); ECT2:9.18 (±1.68); PIK3CA: 8.13 (±1.17);EIF4G1:1.07 (±0.05); SST: 3.07 (±0.25); TP63: 2.51(±0.22); TFRC: 2.42 (±0.19). Four clusters of amplification were found: SSR3 and CCLN1 at 3q25.31; hTERC andSKIL at 3q26.2; ECT2 and PIK3CA at 3q26.31-q26.32; and SST, TP63 and TFRC at 3q27.3-q29. Patients with lymph node metastasis had significantly lower copy number of TP63 in the primary tumor than those without lymph node metastasis. IHC study on tissue arrays also showed that patients with lymph node metastasis have significantly lower TP63 staining score in the primary tumor than those without lymph node ***: This study showed that different amplification patterns were seen among different genes within 3q25.3-qter in EC-SCC, and several novel candidate oncogenes(SSR3, SMC4L1, ECT2, and SST) were identified. 本文应用原子吸收检测技术对３２例胃癌患者的血清、胃癌组织、红细胞、白细胞和血小板锌、铜、硒的含量进行检测，与胃炎组比较，结果：胃癌组血清锌含量降低（Ｐ＜０．０１），而血清铜含量和血清Ｃｕ／Ｚｎ比值升高（Ｐ＜０．０１），血清硒含量降低（Ｐ＜０．０１）；白细胞锌含量降低（Ｐ＜０．０１），白细胞铜无显著变化；红细胞、血小板锌、铜、硒含无显著变化；胃癌组织中锌、硒含量增加（Ｐ＜０．０５），而铜含量无显著变化；锌、铜、硒及血清Ｃｕ／Ｚｎ比值与胃癌细胞分化程度以及有无肿转移无相关性。测定胃癌患者血清、组织、白细胞锌、铜、硒含量，可以估价体内这些元素的总体状态，为观察病情、估计预后提供依据。
