Encrypted Cyberattack Detection System over Encrypted IoT Traffic Based onStatistical Intelligence

In the early days of IoT’s introduction, it was challenging to introduce encryption communication due to the lackof performance of each component, such as computing resources like CPUs and batteries, to encrypt and decryptdata. Because IoT is applied and utilized in many important fields, a cyberattack on IoT can result in astronomicalfinancial and human casualties. For this reason, the application of encrypted communication to IoT has beenrequired, and the application of encrypted communication to IoT has become possible due to improvements inthe computing performance of IoT devices and the development of lightweight cryptography. The applicationof encrypted communication in IoT has made it possible to use encrypted communication channels to launchcyberattacks. The approach of extracting evidence of an attack based on the primary information of a networkpacket is no longer valid because critical information, such as the payload in a network packet, is encrypted byencrypted communication. For this reason, technology that can detect cyberattacks over encrypted network trafficoccurring in IoT environments is required. Therefore, this research proposes an encrypted cyberattack detectionsystem for the IoT (ECDS-IoT) that derives valid features for cyberattack detection from the cryptographic networktraffic generated in the IoT environment and performs cyberattack detection based on the derived features. ECDS-IoT identifies identifiable information from encrypted traffic collected in IoT environments and extracts statistics-based features through statistical analysis of identifiable information. ECDS-IoT understands information aboutnormal data by learning only statistical features extracted from normal data. ECDS-IoT detects cyberattacks basedonly on the normal data information it has trained. Survival analysis following early surgical success in intermittent exotropia surgery

AIM:To assess the consecutive recurrence following early success of intermittent exotropia surgery and to determine the clinical factors that affect the ***:One hundred and thirty-five patients who underwent intermittent exotropia surgery and experienced early surgical success[≤5 prism diopters(PD)esophoria(E)to≤10 PD exophoria(X)on the postoperative sixth month]were enrolled in this *** consecutive survival on the postoperative first year,second year and third year and at the last visit of fourth year or more,and the factors that might affect their survival,were *** final surgical outcomes after the postoperative fourth year were also investigated by dividing the patients into the success group(≤5 PD E to≤10 PD X)and the failure group(>5 PD esodeviation or>10 PD exodeviation)RESULTS:The survival rates from the Kaplan-Meier analysis were 97.78%,92.89%,83.70%and 50.49%on the postoperative first,second and third years and fourth year or more,*** of the clinical factors was determined to have affected the *** amount of the exodrift was largest(2.29 PD)between the first year and the second year,and smallest(1.47 PD)between the fourth year and the last ***-three patients had their final visit after the postoperative fourth year,and 29 of them were in the failure *** patients in the failure group had an intermittent exotropia(IXT)ofset consecutive *** exodeviation on the postoperative sixth month was smaller in the success group than in the failure group(2.81 PD vs 5.86 PD,P=0.012).The reoperation rate for recurrent IXT was 3.7%.CONCLUSION:The survival rate steadily decreases with the exodrift,but the amount of the exodrift decreases with long-term *** final outcomes demonstrate favorable results via surgic

Analysis of piezoelectric ceramic multilayer actuators based on an electro-mechanical coupled meshless method

This paper presents an efficient meshless method for analyzing cracked piezoelectric structures subjected to mechanical and electrical loading. In this method, an element free Galerkin （EFG） formulation, an enriched basic function and some special shape functions that contain discontinuous derivatives are employed. Based on the moving least squares （MLS） interpolation approach, the EFG method is one of the promising methods for dealing with problems involving progressive crack growth. Since the method is meshless and no element connectivity data are needed, the burdensome remeshing procedure required in the conventional finite element method （FEM） is avoided. The numerical results show that the proposed method can yield an accurate near-tip stress field in an infinite piezoelectric plate containing an interior hole. In another example studying a ceramic multilayer actuator, the proposed model was found to be accurate in the simulation of stress and electric field concentrations arround the abrupt end of an internal electrode.

Characteristics of damaged layer in micro-machining of copper material

The study on damaged layer is necessary for improving the machinability in micro-machining because the damaged layer affects the micro mold life and micro machine parts. This study examined the ultra-precision micro-machining characteristics, such as cutting speed, feed rate and cutting depth, of a micro-damaged layer produced by an ultra-high speed air turbine spindle. The micro cutting force, surface roughness and plastic deformation layer were investigated according to the machining conditions. The damaged layer was measured using optical microscope on samples prepared through metallographic techniques. The scale of the damaged layer depends on the cutting process parameters, particularly, the feed per tooth and axial depth of the cut. According to the experimental results, the depth of the damaged layer is increased by increasing the feed per tooth and cutting depth, also the damaged layer occurs less in down-milling compared with up-milling during the micro-machining operation.

Dielectrophoretic assembly of semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotube transistor

A novel burning technique for making a semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes （SWNTs） transistor assembled by the dielectrophoretic force was suggested. The fabrication process consisted of two steps. First, to align and attach a bundle of SWNTs between the source and drain, the alternating （AC） voltage was applied to the electrodes. When a bundle of SWNTs was connected between two electrodes, some of metallic nanotubes and semi-conducing nanotubes existed together. The second step is to burn the metallic SWNTS by applying the voltage between two electrodes. With increasing the voltage, more current flowed through the metallic SWNTs, thus, the metallic SWNTs burnt earlier than the semiconducting one. This technique enables to obtain only semi-conducting SWNTs connection in the transistor. Through the 1--V characteristic graph, the moment of metallic SWNTs burning and the characteristic of semi-conducing nanotubes were verified.

Formation of interfacial brittle phases sigma phase and IMC in hybrid titanium-to-stainless steel joint

The microstructures of the brazed joints for commercially pure Ti and stainless steel were investigated by the applications of various filler alloys including Ag-, Ti-, Zr- and Ni-based alloys. Generally, the dissimilar joints between Ti and stainless steel were dominated by the Ti-based intermetallic compounds （IMCs）, e.g. （Ti, Zr）2（Fe, Ni）, TiFe, TiCu, and Ti2（Fe, Ni）, due to a significant dissolution of Ti from the base metal. The （Fe-Cr） cr phase was also observed near the stainless steel due to a segregation of Cr into the interface region. This research demonstrates empirically that the brittleness of the Ti and stainless steel joint can not be avoided only by applying single braze alloy or single insert metal, and thus an introduction of additional suitable interlayer between the filler alloy and the base metal is necessary to prevent the brittleness of the joint.
