Plants exploit phenotypic plasticity to adapt their growth and development to prevailing environmental *** of light and temperature signals is aided by the circadian system,which provides a temporal *** plasticity provides a selective and competitive advantage in nature but is obstructive during large-scale,intensive agricultural practices since economically important traits(including vegetative growth and flowering time)can vary widely depending on local environmental *** prevents accurate prediction of harvesting times and produces a variable *** this study,we sought to restrict phenotypic plasticity and circadian regulation by manipulating signaling systems that govern plants'responses to environmental *** modeling of plant growth and develop-ment predicted reduced plant responses to changing environments when circadian and light signaling pathways were *** tested this prediction by utilizing a constitutively active allele of the plant photoreceptor phytochrome B,along with disruption of the circadian systemvia mutation of *** found that these manipulations produced plants that are less responsive to light and temper-ature cues and thus fail to anticipate *** engineered plants have uniform vegetative growth and flowering time,demonstrating how phenotypic plasticity can be limited while maintaining plant *** has significant implications for future agriculture in both open fields and controlled environments.

Microbubbles acting as lenses are interesting for optical and photonic applications such as volumetric displays,optical resonators,integration of photonic components onto chips,high-resolution spectroscopy,lithography,and ***,stable,rationally designed,and uniform microbubbles on substrates such as silicon chips are challenging because of the random nature of microbubble *** describe the fabrication of elastic microbubbles with a precise control of volume and curvature based on femtosecond laser irradiated graphene *** demonstrate that the graphene microbubbles possess a near-perfect curvature that allows them to function as reflective microlenses for focusing broadband white light into an ultrahigh aspect ratio diffraction-limited photonic jet without chromatic *** results provide a pathway for integration of graphene microbubbles as lenses for nanophotonic components for miniaturized lab-on-a-chip devices along with applications in high-resolution spectroscopy and imaging.

Telehealth was defined as the use of information, computers and telecommunication technologies to provide health related services when health professionals and patients are separated by a distance This new medical model involves video-conference, transmission of images, e-health portals, remote monitoring of vital signs, and continuing medical education as a whole to help patients to improve health care. It should consist of three parts, including the patient client, the specialist and the connector （platform and intemet）.

O-glycosylation of the nuclear pore complex(NPC)by O-linked N-acetylglucosamine(O-GlcNAc)is conserved within *** nucleoporins(Nups)comprising the NPC are constitutively O-GlcNAcylated,but the functional role of this modification remains *** loss ofO-GlcNAc,induced by either inhibition ofO-GlcNAc transferase(OGT)or deletion of the gene encoding OGT,leads to decreased cellular levels of a number of natively O-GlcNAcylated *** of O-GlcNAc enables increased ubiquitination of these Nups and their increased proteasomal *** decreased half-life of these deglycosylated Nups manifests in their gradual loss from the NPC and a downstream malfunction of the nuclear pore selective permeability barrier in both dividing and post-mitotic *** findings define a critical role of O-GlcNAc modification of the NPC in maintaining its composition and the function of the selectivity *** results implicate NPC glycosylation as a regulator of NPC function and reveal the role of conserved glycosylation of the NPC among metazoans.
