Objective:To evaluate the anti-oxidani and anti-inflammatory activity of leaf extracts and fractions of Mangifera indica in in vitro ***:In vitro DPPH radical scavenging activity and lipoxygenase（LOX） inhibition assays were used to evaluate the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory activities *** extract（MEMI）,successive water extract （SWMI） and ethyl acetate fraction（EMEMI）,n-butanol fraction（BMEMI） and water soluble fraction （WMEMI） of methanolic extract were evaluated along with respective reference standards. Results:In in ritro DPPH radical scavenging activity,the MEMI,EMEMI and BMEMI have offered significant antioxidant activity with IC50 values of 13.***.3.55 and 14.19μig/mL *** acid,a reference standard showed significant antioxidant activity with IC? value of 1.88 and found to be more potent compared to all the extracts and *** m vitro LOX inhibition assay,the MEMI,EMEMI and BMEMI have showed significant inhibition of LOX enzyme activity with IC50 values of 96.***.63.21 and 107.44μg/mL ***,reference drug Indometlhacin also offered significant inhibtion against LOX enzyme activity with IC50 of ***,MEMI was found to more potent than SWMI and among the fractions EMEMI was found to possess more potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ***:These findings suggest that the MEMI and *** possess potent anti-oxidani and anti-inflammatory activities in in vitro conditions.

目的　探讨睫状神经营养因子 (CNTF)在面神经切断后的免疫定位及转化生长因子 β(TGF_β)及人重组骨形成蛋白 2 (rhBMP_2 )对其的调控作用。方法　选取面神经切断后不同时期的面神经核组织切片 ,通过免疫组化染色和图像分析对比不同时期面神经核中CNTF的浓度变化。结果　面神经切断后 ,术后 1dCNTF就开始表达并逐渐增加 ,分别于术后 1周和 1月面神经核运动元中CNTF的含量达到最大。此后逐渐下降。rhBMP_2对CNTF的表达无明显作用 ,而TGF_β能促进神经再生过程中CNTF的表达。结论　内源性CNTF在神经再生过程中对神经轴突的延伸也具有一定的促进作用。

Anabolic steroid-induced cardiomyopathy underlying acute liver failure in a young bodybuilder

Heart failure may lead to subclinical circulatory disturbances and remain an unrecognized cause of ischemic liver injury. We present the case of a previously healthy 40-year-old bodybuilder, referred to our Intensive-Care Unit of Hepatology for treatment of severe acute liver failure, with the suspicion of toxic hepatitis associated with anabolic steroid abuse. Despite the absence of symptoms and signs of congestive heart failure at admission, an anabolic steroid-induced dilated cardiomyopathy with a large thrombus in both ventricles was found to be the underlying cause of the liver injury. Treatment for the initially unrecognized heart failure rapidly restored liver function to normal. To our knowledge, this is the f irst reported case of severe acute liver failure due to an unrecognized anabolic steroid-induced cardiomyopathy. Awareness of this unique presentation will allow for prompt treatment of this potentially fatal cause of liver failure.

Background: Disability is an underestimated issue in public health, with road crashes as leading cause. In Africa, motorcyclists disproportionately bear the burden of road crash injuries, including disability. To contribute to decision-making for disability prevention, this study aims to determine the prevalence and factors associated with disability at 12 months among motorcyclists involved in road crashes in Benin. Methods: This is a prospective, cross-sectional, analytical study based on 12-month follow-up data from a cohort of road crash victims set up in five hospitals in Benin. Data were collected from November 2020 to January 2021. Sample used for this analysis size was 297 motorcyclists. Disability was assessed using the Washington Group on Disabilities Statistics question set. Logistic regression analysis was used to identify risk factors for disability in victims 12 months after the crash. Results: The prevalence of disability was 12.5% 95% CI (9.2 - 16.7). Disability occurrence was associated with being over 45 years old (OR = 3.1;95% CI = 1.5 - 6.6), severity of initial injury (OR = 3.3;95% CI = 1.5 - 7.3) and hospitalisation of the victim (OR = 6.9;95% CI = 2.0 - 24). Conclusion: Age over 45 years, severity of initial injuries and hospitalisation of the victim were risk factors for the occurrence of disability among motorcyclists who were victims of road crashes in Benin. User awareness, law enforcement, holistic and early management of road crash victims could contribute to reducing the prevalence of disability among victims in Benin.

The CeO_(2),Ce-Nb-O_(x) and Nb_(2)O_(5) catalysts were synthesized by citric acid method and the promotion effect of Nb on ceria for selective catalytic reduction(SCR)of NO with NH_(3) was *** catalytic activity measurements indicate that the mixed oxide Ce-Nb-O_(x) presents a higher SCR activity than the single oxide CeO_(2) or Nb_(2)O_(5) *** addition,the Ce-Nb-O_(x) catalyst shows high resistance towards H_(2)O and SO_(2) at 280℃.The Raman,X-ray photoelectron spectra and temperature programmed reduction with H_(2) results indicate that the incorporation of Nb provides abundant oxygen vacancies for capturing more surface adsorbed oxygen,which provides a superior redox capability and accelerates the renewal of active ***,the Fourier transform infrared spectra and temperature programmed desorption of NH_(3) results suggest that niobium pentoxide shows high surface acidity,which is partly retained in the Ce-Nb-O_(x) catalyst possessing a high content of Lewis and Br?nsted acid ***,the incorporation of Nb improves both the redox and acidic capacities of Ce-Nb-O_(x) catalyst for the SCR ***,the redox behavior is primarily taken on Ce and the acidity is well improved by Nb,so the synergistic effect should exist between Ce and *** terms of the reaction mechanism,in situ DRIFT experiments suggest that both NH_(3) on Lewis acid sites and NH_(4)^(+) on Bronsted acid sites can react with NO species,and adsorbed NO and NO_(2) species can both be reduced by NH_(3).In the SCR process,O_(2) primarily acts as the accelerant to improve the redox and acid cycles and plays an important *** work proves that the combination of redox and acidic properties of different constituents can be feasible for catalyst design to obtain a superior SCR performance.

Solid liquid extraction of copper ion (I) with 2, 9-dimethyl-1, 10-phenanthroline (neo-cuproine, DMP) into molten naphthalene followed by chloroform spectrophotometric determination has been studied experimentally. The ternary complex Cu(I)-DMP-ClO4 was extracted quantitatively into molten naphthalene in the range of pH from 5 to 6 at 85 C-. Absorbance was spectrophotometrically determined at 459 nm against the reagent blank after the solid naphthalene layer was anhydrously dissolved in chloroform. Beer's law is obeyed over a concentration range of 0.5-70 mug/mL. The molar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity are 1.0x10(4) L/(mol(.)cm) and 0.0099 mug(.)cm(2) respectively. In addition, the various conditions on determination and the interference of coexisted ions were discussed, and the method was applied to the determination of copper ion both in tea samples and cadmium sulfate reagents. The results are in good agreement with those obtained by ICP AES method.

Hepatoprotective activity of Hepax-A polyherbal formulation

Objective:To evaluate the hepatoprotective potential of Hepax,a polyherbal formulation,against three experimentally induced hepatotoxicity models in ***:Hepatoprotective activity of Hepax was studied against three experimentally induced hepatotoxicity models,namely, carbon tetrachloride(CCl_4),paracetamol and thiocetamide induced hepatotoxicity in rats. Results:Administration of hepatotoxins(CCl_4,paracetamol and thiocetamide) showed significant morphological,biochemical and histological deteriorations in the liver of experimental animals. Pretreatment with Hepax had significant protection against hepatic damage by maintaining the morphological parameters(liver weight and liver weight to organ weight ratio) within normal range and normalizing the elevated levels of biochemical parameters(SGPT,SCOT,ALP and total bilirubin),which were evidently showed in histopathological ***:The Hepax has highly significant hepatoprotective effect at 100 and 200 mg/kg,*** the liver of all the three experimental animal models.

Combining the redox properties of Co and the acid properties of Nb in a Co_(3)-Nb-O_(x)catalyst is shown to provide superior performance in the selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH_(3)(NH_(3)-SCR).Co_(3)O_(4)shows average activity,however,it exhibits a poor N_(2)***_(2)O_(5)is not active for NH_(3)-***,the mixed Co_(3)-Nb-O_(x) catalyst shows higher NO conversion and N_(2)selectivity than the single Co_(3)O_(4)and Nb_(2)O_(5)catalysts at 100–300℃.The results of temperature programmed reduction by H_(2)and X-ray photoelectron(XP)spectra indicate that the addition of Nb changes the chemical states of Co and decreases the concentration of Co^(3+) and Oa,adjusting the activity for catalytic oxidation to a moderate *** suppresses the formation of undesired N_(2)O from the over-oxidation of NH_(3).Incorporation of Co and Nb into one solid synergistically couples their redox behavior and surface acidity,ensuring the high catalytic activity and N2 selectivity in NH3-SCR.
