MgTixNi （x = 0, 0.1, and 0.2） alloys were successfully prepared by mechanical alloying （MA）, and the influence of milling time on the electrochemical characteristics of the electrodes was discussed. MgTixNi alloys after 90 h milling displayed the best electrochemical performance The X-ray diffraction patterns showed that the alloy ball-milled for 90 h was amorphous with a widened diffraction peak. The charge-discharge tests indicated that these alloys had good electrochemical activation properties, and the MgTi0.2Ni alloy electrode exhibited the best cycle performance. The initial discharge capacity of the MgTi0.2Ni alloy reached up to 401.1 mAh·g^-1, and the retention rate of capacity was 3..0% after 3. cycles, much higher than that of MgNi （17.3.）. The Tafel polarization curves revealed that Ti addition could enhance the anticorrosion performance of these alloys in alkali solution, which was responsible for the ameliorated cyclic stability of these alloy electrodes.

Microwave-assisted reaction of peptide formation by amino acids with phosphate was studied. The results showed that the products were a mixture of peptides containing dipeptide, oc- tapeptides and cyclic peptides, which could be obtained in a short time. Polyphosphate was also produced synchronously by the intermolecular condensation of phosphate. The polymerization de- gree reached 99% (pyrophosphate 64%, trimetaphosphate 3.%) after 2 h at 200℃ under microwave irradiation. The intermediates of the mixed anhydrides formed by the intermolecular condensation of phosphates and glycin were determined by ESI-MS. Peptides were also produced by the reaction of amino acids with trimetaphosphate in aqueous solution. The conversion degree of valine reached 46.5% even at room temperature. The cyclic process of peptide formation and phosphate polymeri- zation, regeneration and utilization in amino acids-phosphate system under microwave irradiation was detected and proved. Peptides could be continually formed only by inputting energy into this system. The above recycle may be the most possible process for primitive peptide formation in the origin of life.

Cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and chronopotentiometry were used toinvestigate the electrochemical behaviors of Bi(III) in Bi(NO_3._3.LiClO_4-DMSO (dimethylsulfoxide)system on Pt and Cu electrodes. Experimental results indicated that the electroreducation of Bi(III)to Bi(0) was irreversible on Pt and Cu electrodes. The diffusion coefficient and electron transfercoefficient of Bi(III) in 0.01 mol.L^(-1) Bi(NO_3._3.0.l mol.L^(-1) LiClO_4-DMSO system at 3.3.Kwere 1.75 X 10^(-6) cm^2.s^1 and 0.147 respectively.

Samaria-doped ceria Ce0.8Sm0.2O2-δ(SDC) and SmFe0.7Cu0.3.xNixO3.have been synthesized by the sol-gel method and characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The electrochemical synthesis of ammonia was investigated at atmospheric pressure and low temperature,using the SFCN materials as the cathode,a Nafion membrane as the electrolyte,nickel-doped SDC(Ni-SDC) as the anode and silver-platinum paste as the current *** was synthesized from 25 to 100℃ when the SFCN materials were used as cathode,with SmFe0.7Cu0.1Ni0.2O3.giving the highest rates of ammonia *** maximum rate of evolution of ammonia was 1.13.× 10-8 mol·cm-2·s-1 at 80℃,and the current efficiency reached as high as 90.4%.

Undecatungstocobaltoruthenic polyoxometallic acid H7[Ru（H2O）CoW11O3.] 22H2O was synthesized by the stepwise acidification and the stepwise addition of solutions of the component elements as well as the ion ex changing-cooling method. The optimal proportion of the component compound and the pH of the synthesis reaction were given. The product was characterized by means of inductively coupled plasma（ICP）, IR, UV and thermal analy sis. The IR and UV results indicate that H7[Ru（H2O）CoW11O3.] 22H2O possesses the Keggin structure. The results of AC impedance measurement show that its proton conductivity is 2.3.×10-3.S/cm at room temperature（295 K） and a relative humidity of 75%.

This paper presents a new chiral separation technology:two-phase(O/W)recognition chiral *** behavior of alpha-cyclohexyl-mandelic acid enantiomers was studied in the extraction system with D(L)-isobutyl tartrate in 1,2-dichloroethane organic phase and beta-CD derivatives in aqueous phase,and the influence of the kind and concentration of extractant and pH on extraction performance was *** experimental results indicate that two-phase(O/W)recognition chiral extraction is of strong chiral separation ***-^-CD,HE-beta-CD and Me-beta-CD have higher recognition ability for S-CHMA than that for R-CHMA,among which HP-beta-CD has the strongest ability;whereas,D-isobutyl tartrate has reversed recognition ability for *** the extraction system containing HP-beta-CD and D-isobutyl tartrate,e.e.% of S-CHMA in aqueous phase reached 27.6% by one stage extraction,and the distribution ratio for R-CHMA(k_R)and for S-CHMA(k_S)and separation factor(alpha)are 2.44,0.89 and 2.49,***,pH and concentration of extractant have great effects on chiral separation ***-phase(O/W)recognition chiral extraction has great significance for preparative separation of racemic compounds.

A series of nanostructured iron compounds including cubic Fe3.4 and orthorhombic FeOOH were synthesized via a facile low temperature (in the range of 60-100℃) solution method. In the whole process, the interaction between FeCl2·4H2O and methenamine (C6H12N4) was carried out through a reflux device under different reaction conditions such as temperature, solvent, and duration. The samples were detected by XRD, TEM, SAED, physical property measurement system, and Mssbauer spectroscopy, separately. The experiments showed that magnetic mixture nanoparticles had flake and rod morphologies, and cubic Fe3.4 took on grain nanostructure. Magnetism measurements indicated that the saturated magnetization of the as-obtained magnetic mixture was lower than that of the cubic magnetite. Mssbauer spectroscopy testified the sample consisting of cubic magnetite rather than γ-Fe2O3. In addition, a possible growth mechanism of cubic magnetic nanoparticles under different conditions was discussed.
