Objectives: This study aims to describe birth weight and its variations concerning maternal characteristics as well as to standardize birth weight curves for Qatari and expatriate’s newborn population born in the state of Qatar. Methods: PEARL-Peristat registry is a National maternal-neonatal observation epidemiologic database project where both maternal and neonatal cohort data are collected to evaluate specified outcomes for a population defined by a disease, conditions, or exposures. Results: Out of 50,535 singleton deliveries, only 44,178 live-born infants were included in this study. The LBW rate has remained constant since 2011 and was reported as 2.4% in males and 3.5% in females. The average total LBW was 3%. The reactions of N-(O-hydoxyphenyl)-N'-phenylthiourea (L) derived from with Cu+, Cu2+, Co2+ and Co3+ chloride and/or iodide afford new metal complexes. The isolated complexes were synthesized by two different techniques (chemical and tribochemical methods). Two complexes were synthesized by the direct chemical reactions of N-(O-hydoxyphenyl)-N'-phenylthiourea (L) with MCl2·XH2O (M = Co2+ and Cu2+;X = 6 in case of Co2+ and X = 2 in case of Cu2+) in absolute EtOH. The general formulae of the two complexes derived by the chemical method are [Cu(L)2(EtOH)2]Cl2 and [Co(L)2Cl2]Cl. These complexes were used to synthesize another two complexes using tribochemical reaction by grinding the previous chloride complexes with excess KI in agate mortar in the solid state. The isolated complexes have the general formulae, [Cu(L)I·H2O]·1/2H2O and [Co(L)I3(Et- OH)]·3EtOH. The results indicate the substitution of the chloride by iodide ions during grinding and extraction of the complexes by solvents. The IR spectra of the complexes suggest that L acts in a bidentate manner towards the metal ions. Moreover, the results of electronic spectra and magnetic measurements for the chloride complexes suggest distorted-octahedral structure for Cu2+ and low-spin octahedral structures around the CoII and Cu2+ ions, respectively. On the other hand the data suggest that the iodide complexes have square-planer and low-spin for the Cu+ and Co3+ ions, respectively. The results of mass spectra confirm the formulae proposed for the isolated complexes. The mechanisms of reduction of CuII and oxidation of CoII for the metal complexes were elucidated.

The reaction of L (MAD) with Cu2+ and Co2+ chlorides affords new metal complexes. The isolated solid complexes were synthesized by two different techniques i.e., chemical and tribochemical methods. Four new complexes were synthesized by direct chemical reactions of MCl2 (M = Co2+ and Cu2+) with MAD in absolute EtOH. The isolated solid complexes were used as starting compounds to synthesize another four new complexes using tribochemical technique by grinding the previous complexes in the solid state with excess KI in agate mortar. The results of the isolated complexes indicate the substitution of the chloride by iodide ions during grinding and extraction of the complexes by a mixture of solvents (EtOH + MeOH). also, the results suggest that no reduction of Cu2+ or oxidation of Co2+ complexes is observed. The IR spectra of the complexes suggest that L acts in a bidentate manner. Moreover, the results of electronic spectra and magnetic measurements for the chloride and iodide complexes suggest distorted-octahedral and/or tetrahedral for Cu2+ and high-spin octahedral and/or tetrahedral structures around the Co2+ ion, respectively.

Background:Candida species are the fourth most common etiological agents of late-onset infection in the neonatal intensive care unit(NICU)and are responsible for considerable morbidity and ***:From November 2023 to February 2024,we investigated the association of mycotic pneumonia with septicemia in 60 neonates,and their roles of mycotic pneumonia in the morbidity and mortality of neonates in two NICUs in the al-Ramadi Teaching Hospital for Maternity and ***:all infants in this study had been diagnosed with septicemia and treated with empirical antimicrobial *** early morning nasogastric tube(NG-tube)was used to collect swallowed sputum by suction for culture and sensitivity ***:The average white blood count for the neonates was 8547±5884.5 cells/mm^(2).The mean C-reactive protein was 39.3±26 mg/l,the mean serum albumin was 2.9±0.2 g/dl and the positive bacterial blood culture was 28(46.7%).9(15%)neonates died during the study *** NG-tube culture identified fungal growth in all *** these,49(81.6%)were identified as Candida albicans,6(10%)as Candida tropicalis,and 5(8.3%)as Cryptococcus *** bacterial culture results from the NG-tube samples identified 13(21.6%)patients with gram-positive bacteria and 47(78.3%)with gram-negative ***:We found a prevalence of Candida *** neonates in addition to microbial oxygen tube contamination,indicating a biosafety breach in the neonatal *** infection requires global attention as a probable cause of respiratory failure in neonatal septicemia.

Watershed rangelands in Northern Afghanistan provide various ecosystem services that support the local people's livelihoods,but they are now highly degraded essentially due to the continuous high grazing pressure and recurrent *** of shrub establishment method enhanced by water harvesting techniques to rehabilitate degraded rangelands have not been well *** main goal of this study was to evaluate the impact of direct seeding and transplanting of seedlings in combination with semi-circular bunds on growth,yield,and survival rate of four shrub species(Atriplex halimus,Atriplex nummularia,Atriplex lentiformis,andMaireana brevifolia)under semi-arid conditions of Sayyad village,Khulm *** rate(%),plant height,width,and plant length(cm)and plant cover(%)were measured for each plant over five occasions.A non-destructive reference unit was used to estimate biomass *** results showed that growth attributes and biomass production of shrubs were consistently greater in the transplanting compared to direct *** average,the plant length,width,height,volume,cover,and biomass production of transplanted shrubs were greater than direct-seeded shrubs by 24.3%,8.6%,8.7%,121.5%,13.8% and 34.1%,*** production of transplanted seedlings was the highest for ***(1313.5 g DM/plant)and ***(800 g DM/plant).There was a strong correlation between plant biomass production and plant volume(R^(2)_(Plant volume)=0.88)for the shrub ***,indicating that plant volume is a key variable for assessing biomass production for this ***,the survival rate of *** was 100% in both planting methods,suggesting that based on better survival this halophytic plant has great potential when restoring degraded ***,on the basis of better growth rates,yield,and survival,transplanting *** *** may enhance shrub establishment and contribute to the rehabilitation of slop

The segmentation of head and neck(H&N)tumors in dual Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomogra-phy(PET/CT)imaging is a critical task in medical imaging,providing essential information for diagnosis,treatment planning,and outcome *** by the need for more accurate and robust segmentation methods,this study addresses key research gaps in the application of deep learning techniques to multimodal medical ***,it investigates the limitations of existing 2D and 3D models in capturing complex tumor structures and proposes an innovative 2.5D UNet Transformer model as a *** primary research questions guiding this study are:(1)How can the integration of convolutional neural networks(CNNs)and transformer networks enhance segmentation accuracy in dual PET/CT imaging?(2)What are the comparative advantages of 2D,2.5D,and 3D model configurations in this context?To answer these questions,we aimed to develop and evaluate advanced deep-learning models that leverage the strengths of both CNNs and *** proposed methodology involved a comprehensive preprocessing pipeline,including normalization,contrast enhancement,and resampling,followed by segmentation using 2D,2.5D,and 3D UNet Transformer *** models were trained and tested on three diverse datasets:HeckTor2022,AutoPET2023,and *** was assessed using metrics such as Dice Similarity Coefficient,Jaccard Index,Average Surface Distance(ASD),and Relative Absolute Volume Difference(RAVD).The findings demonstrate that the 2.5D UNet Transformer model consistently outperformed the 2D and 3D models across most metrics,achieving the highest Dice and Jaccard values,indicating superior segmentation *** instance,on the HeckTor2022 dataset,the 2.5D model achieved a Dice score of 81.777 and a Jaccard index of 0.705,surpassing other model *** 3D model showed strong boundary delineation performance but exhibited variability across datasets,while the

Cyberbullying,a critical concern for digital safety,necessitates effective linguistic analysis tools that can navigate the complexities of language use in online *** tackle this challenge,our study introduces a new approach employing Bidirectional Encoder Representations from the Transformers(BERT)base model(cased),originally pretrained in *** model is uniquely adapted to recognize the intricate nuances of Arabic online communication,a key aspect often overlooked in conventional cyberbullying detection *** model is an end-to-end solution that has been fine-tuned on a diverse dataset of Arabic social media(SM)tweets showing a notable increase in detection accuracy and sensitivity compared to existing *** results on a diverse Arabic dataset collected from the‘X platform’demonstrate a notable increase in detection accuracy and sensitivity compared to existing methods.E-BERT shows a substantial improvement in performance,evidenced by an accuracy of 98.45%,precision of 99.17%,recall of 99.10%,and an F1 score of 99.14%.The proposed E-BERT not only addresses a critical gap in cyberbullying detection in Arabic online forums but also sets a precedent for applying cross-lingual pretrained models in regional language applications,offering a scalable and effective framework for enhancing online safety across Arabic-speaking communities.

Scrub rangelands support livestock grazing and provide ecosystem services to their inhabitants. The present study was conducted in Chakwal, an important tract of the Pothwar Plateau,which sustains herds of small domestic and nomadic ruminants. Urbanization and uncontrolled grazing practices have reduced rangeland productivity and increased soil erosion and resulted in poor land conditions. This study assessed the influence of two years of rangeland protection on aboveground vegetation biomass and the chemical composition of plants and aimed to determine the influence of seasonal grazing on the live-weight gain of small *** the line intercept method, vegetation data from protected and unprotected plots in 2015 and 2016 were collected at two sites, Dhulli and *** cover was assessed from images using VegMeasure. Results showed that protected study sites displayed higher vegetation biomass(834 and 690 kg ha^(-1)) compared to the unprotected study site(477 and 326 kg ha^(-1)) during April and August of both years. In the seasonal grazing trial, the experimental ewes that grazed on protected rangelands showed higher live-weight gain(33–63 g day^(-1)) compared to live weight of ewes(17–21 g day^(-1)) that grazed on unprotected rangelands during the experimental period of 127 days at both sites. The results suggest that the Chakwal rangeland has tremendous potential to improve vegetation productivity but modern livestock management and seasonal grazing practices are needed to improve carrying capacity and livestock productivity.

Background: Malassezia folliculitis is an infection of the hair follicle, which commonly affects young adult, and is often misdiagnosed as truncal acne. Objectives: To shed light on different clinical, histopathological, and microbiological aspects of Malassezia folliculitis and to be compared with truncal acne. Patients and Methods: This is a descriptive comparative cross sectional, out patient based study, which was conducted at the Department of Dermatology, Basrah Teaching Hospital from October 2008 to October 2009. Total number of 113 patients with papular and/or pustular follicular skin lesions on the trunk were enrolled in this study. They were divided according to the clinical features, Wood’s light examination, direct microscopic examination, PAS stained skin biopsy and the response to a trial of antifungal drugs into two groups: group 1: patient with Malassezia folliculitis and group 2: patient with truncal acne vulgaris. Results: Group 1: They were 53(46.9%) out of a total 113, 33(62.3%) males and 20(37.7%) females, their ages ranged from 19 - 40 years. Group 2 consisted of 60(53.1%) patients, 25(41.6%) males and 35(58.4%) females, whose ages ranged from 14 - 29 years. The ages were earlier in the acne group in comparison with MF group (p Malassezia folliculitis was more common among males than females, while in truncal acne, females predominated males. The center of the back was the predominant site among MF group affecting (90.6%) of patients with sparing the face, in contrast to truncal acne where the periphery of the back was involved in (91.7%) and the face in (75%) (p 0.0001). Wood’s light examination, skin scrapping and PAS stained skin biopsies were also positive in all patients with MF in contrast to acne group where all these tests were negative. all MF patients showed marked response to a two weeks trial of antifungal while the reverse is true for the acne patients, whereas the antibiotic was the second most common leading aggravating factor in
