Comparison of Estimated Cycle Split Failures from High-Resolution Controller Event and Connected Vehicle Trajectory Data

Current traffic signal split failure (SF) estimations derived from high-resolution controller event data rely on detector occupancy ratios and preset thresholds. The reliability of these techniques depends on the selected thresholds, detector lengths, and vehicle arrival patterns. Connected vehicle (CV) trajectory data can more definitively show when a vehicle split fails by evaluating the number of stops it experiences as it approaches an intersection, but it has limited market penetration. This paper compares cycle-by-cycle SF estimations from both high-resolution controller event data and CV trajectory data, and evaluates the effect of data aggregation on SF agreement between the two techniques. Results indicate that, in general, split failure events identified from CV data are likely to also be captured from high-resolution data, but split failure events identified from high-resolution data are less likely to be captured from CV data. This is due to the CV market penetration rate (MPR) of ~5% being too low to capture representative data for every controller cycle. However, data aggregation can increase the ratio in which CV data captures split failure events. For example, day-of-week data aggregation increased the percentage of split failures identified with high-resolution data that were also captured with CV data from 35% to 56%. It is recommended that aggregated CV data be used to estimate SF as it provides conservative and actionable results without the limitations of intersection and detector configuration. As the CV MPR increases, the accuracy of CV-based SF estimation will also improve.

Phytosomes(phytophospholipid complex) are dosage forms that have recently been introduced to increase the stability and therapeutic effect of herbal medicine. Currently, bioactive herbs and the phytochemicals they contain are considered to be the best remedies for chronic diseases. One promising approach to increase the efficacy of plant-based therapies is to improve the stability and bioavailability of their bio-active ingredients. Phytosomes employ phospholipids as their active ingredients, and use their amphiphilic properties to solubilize and protect herbal extracts. The unique properties of phospholipids in drug delivery and their use in herbal medicines to improve bioavailability results in significantly enhanced health benefits. The introduction of phytosome nanotechnology can alter and revolutionize the current state of drug delivery. The goal of this review is to explain the application of phytosomes, their future prospects in drug delivery, and their advantages over conventional formulations.

Application of pressure–state–response approach for developing criteria and indicators of ecological health assessment of wetlands:a multi-temporal study in Ichhamati floodplains, India

Background Tropical floodplain wetlands are among the most disturbed and intensively harvested ecosystems. Their sustainable management is often hindered due to the lack of comprehensive, coherent, and standardized assessment frameworks of wetland ecological health(WEH). In this study, a set of appropriate criteria and indicators(C&I) of WEH assessment was developed and tested on seven wetlands of River Ichhamati, eastern *** Based on the pressure–state–response(PSR) approach, evaluation indicators representing ecological, socio-economic, and institutional sustainability issues of floodplain wetland systems were either selected or formulated through literature survey and stakeholder consensus. Weights of indicators were assigned by the entropy weighting method and then used in the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution model to determine the Euclidean distances of each wetland from the positive ideal solution and negative ideal solution. Subsequently, a comprehensive wetland ecological health index(CWEHI) was constructed from these distances to portray the condition of any PSR system component in a wetland under a fivefold classification scheme, namely 'excellent health'(CWEHI ≥ 0.81), 'good health'(0.61–0.80), 'moderate health'(0.41–0.60), 'weak health'(0.21–0.40), and 'morbid'(≤ 0.20).Results The developed C&I set contains 8 criteria and 38 indicators under pressure component, 7 criteria and 49 indicators under state component, as well as 4 criteria and 18 indicators under response component. When applied in 2016 and 2022, it was found that the Panchita and Aromdanga wetlands were continuously in weak and morbid health status, while the Madhabpur wetland always showed an excellent or good status for all components. Spatially explicit estimation of soil organic carbon stock of an estuarine mangrove wetland of eastern India using elemental analysis and very-fine resolution satellite data

The major findings in this report are(ⅰ)development of nanocomposite photocatalyst working through Z-scheme charge transfer pathway across the heterojunction,(ⅱ)utilization of direct sunlight as the photo-source,and(ⅲ)prospect of ligand-hole in photocatalysis through enhanced sub-band gap absorption,The photocatalysts,namely LaNiO_(3),g-C_(3)N_(4) and LaNiO_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) nanocomposites were synthesized via facile route and were characterized for their structure,morphology,microstructure,texture,elemental mapping and surface oxidation states by using several physicochemical *** photocatalytic performance of the nanocomposite was tested through the degradation of hazardous azo dye pollutants,namely reactive black 5 and methylene blue as well as the colorless antibiotic-pollutant tetracycline hydrochloride in aqueous solution in presence of natural sunlight with excellent recycling *** 10%LaNiO_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) nanocomposite sample shows the best catalytic activity,degrading respectively 94%,98.6%and 88.1%of reactive black 5,methylene blue and tetracycline hydrochloride in60,180 and 120 *** photocatalytic activity of the nanocomposite phase is several times superior to that of the pure *** improvements of photocatalytic activity of g-C_(3)N_(4) in the nanocomposite have been rationalized through the construction of direct Z-scheme heterojunction and suppression of electron-hole pair recombination *** enhanced photo-absorption of the nanocomposite can possibly be related to sub-bandgap absorption,which is associated to the midgap state originating from ligand-hole formation or defects in the *** photodegradation process is mediated through the formation of super oxide radical(O_(2))and hole(h^(+))as the main responsible species.

An all-optical adder/subtractor （A/S） unit with the （TOAD） is proposed. The all-optical A/S unit with help of terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer a set of all-optical full-adders and optical exclusive- ORs （XORs）, can be used to perform a fast central processor unit using optical hardware components. We try to exploit the advantages of TOAD-based optical switch to design an integrated all-optical circuit which can perform binary addition and subtraction. With computer simulation results confirming the described methods, conclusions are given.
