Objective:To study the chem.cal profile,antim.crobial properties,and synergistic effect with known antibiotics of essential oil extracted from.the m.rine red m.croalgae Centroceras clavulatum.***)m.ntagne,collected in ***:The chem.cal com.osition of the oil was analyzed by gas chrom.tography-m.ss *** oil was evaluated for antibacterial(Pseudom.nas aeruginosa,Escherichia coli,Bacillus subtilis,m.crococcus luteus,Staphylococcus aureus,and Klebsiella pneum.niae),and antifungal activity(Candida albicans,Candida glabrata,Candida krusei,and Candida parapsilosis),by the disc diffusion *** m.nim.m.inhibitory and m.nim.m.m.crobicidal concentrations of the oil were determ.ned,as well as the synergistic effects of its application com.ined with the antibiotics ciprofloxacin and fluconazole,by the checkerboard ***:Thirty m.lecules were identified in the essential oil,com.rising 96.27%of the total oil *** such as carvacrol(36.06%)were the m.st abundant com.ounds,followed by caryophyllene(14.67%),endo-borneol(9.04%),pyroterebic acid(3.23%)and caryophyllene oxide(3.13%).The oil exhibited a m.derate antim.crobial activity with inhibition zone diam.ters ranging from.9.0 to 15.0 *** m.nim.m.inhibitory concentration values varied between 0.9 and 14.7 m./m.,and Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli were the m.re sensitive bacteria with 0.9 and 1.9 m./m.,*** m.nim.m.m.crobicidal concentration values ranged from.0.4 to 14.7 m./m..A significant synergic action was observed when the oil was applied in com.ination with ciprofloxacin and fluconazole,with fractional inhibitory concentration index values ranging from.0.31 to *** was found in 80%of the com.inations and a 2 to 16-fold reduction of antibiotics m.C was ***:Our findings suggest that the essential oil of Centroceras clavulatum.should be further appraised for its potential use in the m.nagem.nt of m.lti-drug resistant m.croo

Flatfish m.tam.rphosis denotes the extraordinary transform.tion of a sym.etric pelagic larva into an asym.etric benthic *** unique process involves eye m.gration,a90°rotation in posture and asym.etrical pigm.ntation for adaptation to a benthic *** the present study,we used genetics to m.p a m.tam.rphosis related-locus（q-10m.on a m.le linkage group（LG10m.,a sm.ll interval of 0.9 c m.corresponding to a 1.8m. physical area in chrom.som. 9 in the Chinese tongue sole（Cynoglossus sem.laevis）.Com.ined with single m.rker analysis,ribosom.l protein S6 kinase 2（rps6kb2）a m.m.er of the fam.ly of AGC kinases was identified as a potential m.tam.rphosis-related candidate *** expression pattern during m.tam.rphosis was determ.ned by quantitative RT-PCR and whole-m.unt in situ hybridization ***6kb2 gene was significantly expressed in m.tam.rphic clim.x stage larvae and distributed in all tissues transform.ng during m.tam.rphosis,including tail,jaw,eye and skin of *** results suggest that rps6kb2 has a general role in tissue transform.tions during flatfish m.tam.rphosis including tail changes,skull rem.deling,eye m.gration and asym.etrical pigm.ntation.
