Holographic augmented reality display with conical holographic optical element for wide viewing zone

In this study, we propose a holographic augmented reality (AR) display with a wide viewing zone realized by using a special-designed reflective optical element. A conical holographic optical element (HOE) is used as such a reflective optical element. This conical HOE was implemented to reconstruct a diverging spherical wave with a wide spread angle. It has a sharp wavelength selectivity by recording it as a volume hologram, enabling augmented reality (AR) representation of real and virtual 3D objects. The quality of the generated spherical wave and the spectral reflectivity of the fabricated conical HOE were investigated. An optical superimposition between real and virtual 3D objects was demonstrated, thereby enhancing the validity of our proposed method. A horizontal viewing zone of 140° and a vertical viewing zone of 30° were experimentally confirmed. The fabrication procedure for the conical HOE is presented, and the calculation method of the computer-generated hologram (CGH) based on Fermat’s principle is explained in detail.

In this paper,we report a novel measurement system based on the development of Fudan Scanning Proton Microscopy(SPM) *** using Si-PIN diode(Hamamatsu S1223-01) detector,scanning transmission ion microscopy(STIM) measurement system has been set *** can provide density and structural images with high probing efficiency and non-destruction by utilizing the energy loss of high energy(MeV) and focused ions penetrating through a thin *** measurement is able to map the density distribution of organic elements which mostly compose biology materials,such information can not be detected by using conventional Be-windowed Si(Li) X-ray detector in Particle Induced X-ray Emission(PIXE) *** spatial resolution capability of STIM is higher than PIXE technique at same accelerator *** a result of STIM measurement,Paramecium attached on the top of kapton tube was measured by STIM.

Assessing the impact of climate change(CC)on agricultural production systems is mainly done using crop models associated with climate model *** review is one of the few,with the main objective of providing a recent compendium of CC impact studies on irrigation needs and rice yields for a better understanding and use of climate and crop *** discuss the strengths and weaknesses of climate impact studies on agricultural production systems,with a particular focus on uncertainty and sensitivity analyses of crop *** the new generation global climate models(GCMs)are more robust than previous ones,there is still a need to consider the effect of climate uncertainty on estimates when using *** GCMs cannot directly simulate the agro-climatic variables of interest for future irrigation assessment,hence the use of intelligent climate ***,sensitivity and uncertainty analyses must be applied to crop models,especially for their calibration under different *** impacts of CC on irrigation needs and rice yields vary across regions,seasons,varieties and crop ***,integrated assessments,the use of remote sensing data,climate smart tools,CO_(2)enrichment experiments,consideration of changing crop management practices and multi-scale crop modeling,seem to be the approaches to be pursued for future climate impact assessments for agricultural systems。

Objective:In traditional herbal medicine(kampo medicine in Japan),'sho'is diagnosed by the traditional assessments of clinical *** a variety of the shos,there is an'oketsu'syndrome,which is a stagnation and disturbance of *** prompt effects of four anti-oketsu formulations in kampo medicine on cardiovascular functions were compared in oketsu and non-oketsu ***:The arterial pulse wave from radial artery is formed by the combination with ejection and reflection *** augmentation index(AI),a ration of the ejection and reflection pulses,indicates a degree of *** both seventy-six students with oketsu and thirty-seven students with non-oketsu,kampo formulations overcoming oketsu of Tokishakuyakusan(TS,Dang-Gui-Shao-Yao-San),kamishoyosan(kS,Jia-Wei-Xiao-Yao-San),keisibukuryogan(kB,Gui-Zhi-Fu-Ling-Wan)and Tokakujokito(TJ,Tao-He-Cheng-Qi-Tang)were taken once,and then,the cardiovascular functions including blood pressure,heart rate,central arterial blood pressure(CBP)and AI were examined for 60 ***:At 40-60 min after an intake,these formulations decreased the AI almost by 6-18%(n=76),by 18.3±3.1%(PkS and by 9.1±2.0%(Pketsu group had less or no effect by any kinds of the ***:The anti-oketsu formulations can exert the ameliorative action for oketsu persons via decreasing AI and CBP.

Background:Early excision and skin grafting are commonly used to treat deep dermal burns(DDBs)of the dorsum of the ***-thickness debridement(PTD)is one of the most commonly used procedures for the excision of burned tissue of the dorsum of the *** contrast,full-thickness debridement(FTD)has also been ***,it is unclear whether PTD or FTD is ***:In this hospital-based retrospective study,we compared the outcomes of PTD followed by a medium split-thickness skin graft(STSG)with FTD followed by a thick STSG to treat a DDB of the dorsum of the hand in Japanese *** evaluate postoperative pigmentation of the skin graft,quantitative analyses were performed using the red,green,and blue(RGB)and the hue,saturation,and brightness(HSB)color *** have organized the manuscript in a manner compliant with the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology(STROBE)***:Data from 11 patients were *** hands(five patients)received grafts in the PTD group and eight hands(six patients)received grafts in the FTD *** take was significantly better in the FTD group(median 98%,interquartile range 95–99)than in the PTD group(median 90%,interquartile range 85–90)(Pkin color analyses in both the RGB and HSB color spaces showed that postoperative grafted skin was significantly darker than the adjacent control area in the PTD group,but not in the FTD ***:There is a possibility that FTD followed by a thick STSG is an option that can reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation after surgery for DDB of the dorsum of the hand in Japanese *** investigation is needed to clarify whether the FTD or the thick STSG or both are the factor for the control of hyperpigmentation.

Application of continuous repetition of motor imagery can improve the performance of exercise ***,there is a lack of more detailed neurophysiological evidence to support the formulation of clear standards for interventions using motor ***,identification of motor imagery intervention time is necessary because it exhibits possible central ***,the purpose of this study was to elucidate the development of fatigue during continuous repetition of motor imagery through objective and subjective *** study involved two *** experiment 1,14 healthy young volunteers were required to imagine grasping and lifting a 1.5-L plastic bottle using the whole *** participant performed the motor imagery task 100 times under each condition with 48 hours interval between two conditions:500 mL or 1500 mL of water in the bottle during the demonstration *** fatigue and a decrease in pinch power appeared under the 1500-mL *** were changes in concentration ability or corticospinal excitability,as assessed by motor evoked potentials,between each set with continuous repetition of motor imagery also under the 1500-mL ***,in experiment 2,12 healthy volunteers were required to perform the motor imagery task 200 times under the 1500-mL *** concentration ability and corticospinal excitability *** is the first study to show that continuous repetition of motor imagery can decrease corticospinal excitability in addition to producing mental *** study was approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee at the Nagasaki University Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences(approval No.18121302)on January 30,2019.

Background:Recent studies have indicated that a high-fat diet(HFD)and/or HFD-induced obesity may influence prostate cancer(PCa)progression,but the role of HFD in PCa microenvironment is *** study aimed to delineate the molecular mechanisms of PCa progression underHFDmilieus and define the stromal microenvironment focusing on macrophage inhibitory cytokine-1(MIC-1)***:We investigated the effects of HFD on PCa stromal microenvironment and MIC-1 signaling activation using PC-3M-luc-C6 PCa model mice fed with HFD or control ***,we explored the effect of periprostatic adipocytes derived from primary PCa patients on activation and cytokine secretion of prostate stromal *** patterns and roles of MIC-1 signaling on human PCa stroma activation and progression were also ***:HFD stimulated PCa cell growth and invasion as a result of upregulated MIC-1 signaling and subsequently increased the secretion of interleukin(IL)-8 and IL-6 from prostate stromal fibroblasts in PC-3M-luc-C6 PCa *** addition,periprostatic adipocytes directly stimulatedMIC-1 production from PC-3 cells and IL-8 secretion in prostate stromal fibroblasts through the upregulation of adipose lipolysis and free fatty acid *** increased serum MIC-1 was significantly correlated with human PCa stroma activation,high serum IL-8,IL-6,and lipase activity,advanced PCa progression,and high body mass index of the ***-derived neurotrophic factor receptor α-like(GFRAL),a specific receptor of MIC-1,was highly expressed in both cytoplasm and membrane of PCa cells and surrounding stromal fibroblasts,and the expression levelwas decreased by androgen deprivation therapy and ***:HFD-mediated activation of the PCa stromal microenvironment through metabolically upregulated MIC-1 signaling by increased available free fatty acids may be a critical mechanism of HFD and/or obesity-induced PCa progression.
