Mycoendophytic diversity and their antimicrobial potential from two epiphytic orchids of the Western Ghats forests of India

The epiphytic plants belong to a group that harmlessly grows on other plants by utilizing the nutrition from the host plants with their unique adaptation features along with symbiotic associations with fungi or *** various biological activities exhibited by the mycoendophytes inhabiting medicinally-important epiphytic orchids serve as the primary source of novel drug leads,industrially-essential enzymes,and plant growth-promoting *** the present study,a total of 956 culturable mycoendophytes out of 1600 segments belonging to 17 genera were isolated from different tissue parts of Trias stocksii and Dendrobium *** Xylariaceae taxa were the predominant mycoendophytes present in both plants,followed by Pestalotiopsis sp.,Colletotrichum sp.,and Fusarium *** estimation of the shannon-Wiener and simpson diversity indices showed that the bulbs of *** have the highest species diversity index and the stems of *** the *** highest species richness was observed in the leaves of *** and the lowest in the leaves of ***,*** harbored more mycoendophytes along with the highest diversity indices compared to *** antimicrobial evaluation revealed that Xylaria *** a higher potential of producing anti-infectives and opens a new arena for industrial exploration.

This paper presents the experimental results to understand the performance of moderately loaded high speed single stage transonic axial flow compressor subjected to various configurations of axial extensions of bend skewed casing treatment with moderate *** bend skewed casing treatment of 33%porosity was coupled with rectangular plenum chamber of depth equal to the slots *** five axial extensions of 20%,40%,60%,80%and 100%were used for the experimental evaluations of compressor *** main objective was to identify the optimum extension of the casing treatment with reference to rotor leading edge which results in maximum stall margin improvements with minimum loss in the stage *** each axial extension the compressor performance is *** improvement in the stall margin was very significant at some axial extensions with 4%–5%penalty in the stage *** compressors stage shows recovery in terms of efficiency at lower axial extensions of 20%and 40%with increase in the peak stage *** of flow parameters showed the typical behaviors at near stall flow *** wire sensor was placed at the rotor upstream in the tip region to capture the oscillations in the inlet axial and tangential velocities at stall *** the absence of casing treatment the compressor exhibit abrupt stall with very high oscillations in the inlet axial and tangential velocity of the *** extents of oscillations reduce with bend skewed casing *** measurements were also performed in the plenum chamber and salient results are presented in this paper.

The Lomagundi(-Jatuli)event,characterized by extremely high positive global inorganic carbon isotope excursion at about 2.2 billion years ago,is pivotal in investigating the causes and consequences of great oxygenation event,inventory and sequestration of carbon on the Earth’s surface,evolution of life,and more profoundly tectonic control on Earth’s ***,the reasons that caused the isotopic excursion are not resolved ***,we report the discovery of meta-carbonate rocks with distinct positive carbon isotopic excursion from the Paleoproterozoic continental collision zone of the Kongling Complex,south China *** δ^(13)C_(V-PDB) values for meta-carbonate rocks show positive values in the range from+5.5‰to+11.6‰,whereas the δ^(13)C_(V-PDB) values of associated graphite deposits range from-25.8‰to-9.5‰.Zircon U-Pb-Hf isotopes from zircon-bearing meta-carbonate sample yielded weighted average _(207)Pb/_(206)Pb age of 2001.3±9.5 Ma,with correspondingε_(Hf)(t)range from-7.05 to-3.16,comparable to the values of local 2.9–2.6 Ga basement *** characteristics of meta-carbonate rocks,such as their rare earth element patterns and the trace element parameters of La,Ce,Eu,and Gd anomalies and Y/Ho ratio,suggest that the carbonate deposition took place in passive continental margin in association with large volumes of organic *** extensive graphite deposits from Kongling Complex in south China Craton,their equivalents in the North China Craton and elsewhere across the globe prove that the burial of ^(12)C-enriched organic carbon has eventually resulted in the global enrichment of ^(13)C in the atmospheric CO_(2),which is recorded in the marine carbonate *** mass balance estimates indicate that more than half of the organic carbon was buried during the oceanic ***,the observed global shift could be directly related to the continent collision event in greater China,thus resolving the long-standing paradox of the Lomag

Responding to complex analytical queries in the data warehouse(DW)is one of the most challenging tasks that require prompt *** problem of materialized view(MV)selection relies on selecting the most optimal views that can respond to more queries *** work introduces a combined approach in which the constraint handling process is combined with metaheuristics to select the most optimal subset of DW views from *** proposed work initially refines the solution to enable a feasible selection of views using the ensemble constraint handling technique(ECHT).The constraints such as self-adaptive penalty,epsilon(ε)-parameter and stochastic ranking(sR)are considered for constraint *** two constraints helped the proposed model select the finest views that minimize the objective ***,a novel and effective combination of Ebola and coot optimization algorithms named hybrid Ebola with coot optimization(CHECO)is introduced to choose the optimal *** and Coot have recently introduced metaheuristics that identify the global optimal set of views from the given *** combining these two algorithms,the proposed framework resulted in a highly optimized set of views with minimized *** cost functions are described to enable the algorithm to choose the finest solution from the problem ***,extensive evaluations are conducted to prove the performance of the proposed approach compared to existing *** proposed framework resulted in a view maintenance cost of 6,329,354,613,784,query processing cost of 3,522,857,483,566 and execution time of 226 s when analyzed using the TPC-H benchmark dataset.

The use of asbestos material is being avoided to manufacture the brake pads as it is harmful and toxic in nature. Further it leads to various health issues like asbestosis, mesothelioma and lung cancers. These brake pads can be replaced by natural fibers like Palm kernel (0-50%), Nile roses (0-15%) and Wheat (0-10%) with additives like aluminum oxide (5%-20%) and graphite powder (10%-35%). Phenolic resin of 35% is utilized as a binder. Particulated Nile roses are used to increase the friction coefficient and wheat powder is used to reduce the wear rate. Aluminum oxide and graphite are abrasive in nature. This helps to make brake pads with high friction co-efficient and less wear rate with low noise pollution. The wear of the proposed composites have been investigated at different speeds. Various tests like wear on pin-ondisc apparatus, hardness on the Rockwell hardness apparatus and oil absorption test have been conducted. Phenolic resin produces good bonding nature to fiber. Thus, Fibers found to have performed palatably among all commercial brake pads. The objective of the research indicates that Palm kernal shell could be a conceivable alternative for asbestos in friction coating materials.

A magnitude M;7.8 earthquake occurred on 25 April 2015(referred as Gorkha earthquake).We have analyzed the spatial variation of b-value and two-dimensional strain within Nepal Himalaya before and after the Gorkha *** have used continuous Global Navigation satellite system(GNss)data from 30 stations in the Nepal region for geodetic strain estimation and earthquake data for b-value *** GNss data were processed using double differencing technique for the accurate position of each *** precise velocity vectors show a general azimuth of north east for all the stations and have been used to derive two-dimensional *** epicenters of Gorkha(25 April 2015)and Dolakha earthquakes(12 May 2015),we observed high co-seismic horizontal displacements(0.2 m to 2 m).In the Pre-seismic deformation study,maximum strain accumulation(56.40×10;)and low bvalue(0.79-0.89)was observed in and around the Western Nepal region,which may be responsible for the 2015 Gorkha *** potential seismic zones were identified by GIs based integration of geodetic strain and b-value map and superimposition using weighted overlay *** Maximum strain and low b-value are now observed in the eastern part of ***,the spatial disposition of elastic energy has changed after the two major earthquakes and continuous seismic hazard assessment is required in the eastern Nepal.
