The current study focuses on the vertical profile of different geochemical fractions of phosphorus-loosely bound(Lo–P), aluminium bound(Al–P), iron bound(Fe–P), calcium bound(Ca–P), and organic bound phosphorus(O–P) along with ecological risk assessment of sediment cores from Chilika Lake, eastcoast of India. The percentage contribution of the different fractions to the sedimentary phosphorus in the sediment column of the whole lake are on the order: O–P(33.2%) 4 Ca–P(20.3%) 4 Fe–P(18%) 4 Al–P(6.7%) 4 Lo–P(0.35%). The Phosphorus Pollution Index(PPI) revealed the contamination of lake sediment with phosphorus. The principal component and cluster analyses highlighted the anthropogenic contribution of phosphorus. The negative loading of Ca–P with Ca points towards its origin from marine shells. The discriminate analysis showed that the variables like Ca–P, bio-available phosphorus(BAP), and p H were able to effectively discriminate the sectors in a significant manner.

The key to develop earth-abundant energy storage technologies sodium-and potassium-ion batteries(SIBs and PIBs)is to identify low-cost electrode materials that allow fast and reversible Na^(+)/K^(+)***,we report an intercalation-type material TiNb_(24)O_(62)as a versatile anode for SIBs and PIBs,via a synergistic strategy of oxygen vacancy and carbon incorporation to enhance ion and electron *** TiNb_(24)O_(62-x)/reduced graphene oxide(rGO)composite anode delivers high reversible capacities(130 mA h g^(-1)for SIBs and 178 mA h g^(-1)for PIBs),great rate performance(54 mA h g^(-1)for SIBs and 37 mA h g^(-1)for PIBs at 1 A g^(-1)),and superior cycle stability(73.7%after 500 cycles for SIBs and 84%after 300 cycles for PIBs).The performance is among the best results of intercalation-typemetal oxide anodes for SIBs and *** better performance of TiNb_(24)O_(62-x)/rGO in SIBs than PIBs is due to the better reaction kinetics of the ***,mechanistic study confirms that the redox activity of Nb4+/5+is responsible for the reversible intercalation of Na^(+)/K^(+).Our results suggest that TiNb_(24)O_(62-x)/rGO is a promising anode for SIBs and PIBs and may stimulate further research on intercalation-type compounds as candidate anodes for large ion batteries.

New Approach in the Management of Adult Epiglottic Abscess—A Case Report

Background: Epiglottic abscess in an otherwise healthy adult is seen as a rare sequelae of acute epiglottitis. It is a life threatening condition which requires emergency management, which if not done early, may result in fatality. Respiratory infections, exposure to environmental chemical or trauma which may lead to inflammation and infection of the structures around the throat which may lead on to epiglottitis, and an epiglottis abscess very rarely. In our case, patient was immediately managed by doing an emergency tracheostomy followed by incision and drainage in the OPD (outpatient department). This emphasizes on need for emergency airway management by doing a tracheostomy there by facilitating incision and drainage in a case of epiglottic abscess as a daycare procedure. Aim: The primary aim of this clinical record is to emphasize the need for immediate airway management in epiglottic abscess there by facilitating incision and drainage as an OPD (out-patient department) Procedure. Case Presentation: A 45-year-old man presented to the OPD (outpatient department) with complaints of dysphagia, odynophagia, muffled voice, noisy breathing for the previous 7 hours. On clinical examination pt was in stridor & respiratory distress. Since the pt was in stridor, it was immediately shifted to the OT (operation theatre), and an emergency tracheostomy was done and the airway was secured, following which a video laryngoscopic examination was done in the OPD, which revealed oedematous enlarged epiglottis with pus pointing obscuring the laryngeal inlet. Abscess was incised and drained, and pus was sent for culture & sensitivity. Pt was treated with I. V (intravenous) antibiotics as per culture reports and subsequent video laryngoscopic examination revealed near normal epiglottis with an adequate laryngeal inlet. Conclusion: Patients with epiglottic abscess are at increased risk of airway compromise, hence in such patients airway should be immediately secured by doing an emergen
