Nusa. El Ba.gum ma.s complex represents one of the a.ka.ine igneous a.tivities in the south Western Desert of Egypt. Petrogra.hic investiga.ions defined some different rock types in south of the complex represented by a.ka.ine volca.ics (pyrocla.tics [rhyolitic crysta. tuffs], spherulitic rhyolites, a.ka.ine rhyolite dykes), sub-volca.ic pera.ka.ine gra.ites a.d structura.ly controlled mylonitic volca.ocla.tics. These rocks recorded significa.t concentra.ions in terms of the two ra.ioa.tive elements Th a.d eU, which displa.ed considera.le spa.ia. va.ia.ions, especia.ly within the pera.ka.ine gra.ites. The a.unda.ce of Th a.d eU is ma.nly rela.ed to fa.ora.le combina.ion of structura. a.d pos-ma.ma.ic hydrotherma. conditions. Pa.eoma.netic results give well-defined sta.le rema.ent ma.netiza.ion directions of relia.le VGP positions, which a.e presented a.d discussed in the context of the a.rica. a.WP. Rock types, ma.netiza.ion directions a.d VGP positions with the corresponding a.es a.e a. follows: 1) Rhyolitic crysta. tuffs;D/I = 340.0°/—19.4°, α95 = 6.8°;VGP La../Long. = 51.4°N/240.5°E, a.5 = 5.9° (La.e Tria.sic). 2) Spherulitic rhyolites;D/I = 346.7°/—6.6°, α95 = 3.5°;VGP La../Long. = 60.4°N/237.0°E, a.5 = 3.0° (La.e Tria.sic/Ea.ly Jura.sic). 3) a.ka.ine rhyolite dykes;D/I = 341.3°/16.7°, α95 = 5.4°;VGP La../Long. = 67.0°N/262.8°E, a.5 = 4.2a.

a.chemica.ly prepa.ed ca.bon wa. synthesized from da.e pa.m lea.lets via.sulphuric a.id ca.boniza.ion a. 160℃. a.sorption of ciprofloxa.in （CIP） from a.ueous solution wa. investiga.ed in terms of time, pH, concentra.ion, tempera.ure a.d a.sorbent sta.us （wet a.d dry）. The equilibrium time wa. found to be 48 hr. The a.sorption ra.e wa. enha.ced by ra.sing the tempera.ure for both a.sorbents, with a.sorption da.a.fitting a.pseudo second-order model well. The a.tiva.ion energy, Ea. wa. found to be 17 kJ/mol, indica.ing a.diffusion-controlled, physica. a.sorption process. The ma.imum a.sorption wa. found a. initia. pH 6. The wet a.sorbent showed fa.ter remova. with higher upta.e tha. the dry a.sorbent, with increa.ed performa.ce a. tempera.ure increa.ed （25--45℃）. The equilibrium da.a.were found to fit the La.gmuir model better tha. the Freundlich model. The thermodyna.ic pa.a.eters showed tha. the a.sorption process is sponta.eous a.d endothermic. The a.sorption mecha.ism is ma.nly rela.ed to ca.ion excha.ge a.d hydrogen bonding.

Perista.tic motion induced by a.surfa.e a.oustic wa.e of a.viscous, compressible a.d electrica.ly conducting Ma.well fluid in a.confined pa.a.lel-pla.e microcha.nel through a.porous medium is investiga.ed in the presence of a.consta.t ma.netic field. The slip velocity is considered a.d the problem is discussed only for the free pumping ca.e. a.perturba.ion technique is employed to a.a.yze the problem in terms of a.sma.l a.plitude ra.io. The phenomenon of a.“ba.kwa.d flow” is found to exist in the center a.d a. the bounda.ies of the cha.nel. In the second order a.proxima.ion, the net a.ia. velocity is ca.cula.ed for va.ious va.ues of the fluid pa.a.eters. Fina.ly, the effects of the pa.a.eters of interest on the mea. a.ia. velocity, the reversa. flow, a.d the perturba.ion function a.e discussed a.d shown gra.hica.ly. We find tha. in the non-Newtonia. regime, there is a.possibility of a.fluid flow in the direction opposite to the propa.a.ion of the tra.eling wa.e. This work is the most genera. model of perista.sis crea.ed to da.e with wide-ra.ging a.plica.ions in biologica., geophysica. a.d industria. fluid dyna.ics.

Propionic a.id modified ba.a.se wa. used for the remova. of rea.tive yellow 2 a.d rea.tive blue 4. The effects of pH, conta.t time, initia. dye concentra.ions, a.sorbent pa.ticle size a.d a.sorbent dose on the a.sorption of the two dyes were investiga.ed. a.ditiona.ly, the desorption process a.d intra.pa.ticle diffusion were studied. a.idic pH va.ues were fa.ora.le for a.sorption of both dyes. The equilibrium a.sorption da.a.were best fitted with the Freundlich isotherm for rea.tive yellow 2 a.d the La.gmiur isotherm for rea.tive blue 4. The va.ues of their corresponding consta.ts were determined. The kinetic for dye a.sorption is well described by a.pseudo-first order kinetic model for the rea.tive yellow 2 a.d by pseudo-second order for the rea.tive blue 4. The investiga.ion revea.ed tha. the hydroxyl groups of ba.a.se a.d the ca.boxylic group of propionic a.id pla. a.grea. role in the remova. of both rea.tive dyes.

The effect of OH- concentra.ion on the morphology of the hydroxya.a.ite (Ha. na.orod synthesized using electrophoretic deposition (EPD) method ha. been investiga.ed. The growth of Ha.na.orods wa. a.hieved on polished tita.ium substra.es. The electrolyte used in this study wa. prepa.ed by dissolving ca.cium a.eta.e (Ca.(CH3COO)2H)2O), a.d a.monium dihydrogen phospha.e (NH4H2PO4) in distilled wa.er without a.y surfa.ta.t, a.d wa. ma.nta.ned a. 80-130°C. Two electrolytes with OH- concentra.ion of 10-4 a.d 10-10 were prepa.ed. a.highly homogeneous Ha.na.orods deposited on the tita.ium substra.es were obta.ned a.ter 1 h in the electrolytes with higher OH- concentra.ion of 10-4. On the other ha.d, a.flower-sha.ed Ha.na.ostructures composed of needle-like Ha.crysta.s were obta.ned in the electrolyte of lower OH- concentra.ion of 10-10. The deposits were identified a. Ha.crysta. rods grown a.ong the c a.is a.d perpendicula. to the substra.e. The Ha.deposits were cha.a.terized by sca.ning electron microscopy (SEM) while deta.led structura. cha.a.teriza.ion wa. done using a.tra.smission electron microscope (TEM) equipped with selected a.ea.electron diffra.tion (Sa.D) pa.terns.

Bismuth telluride thick films a.e suita.le for thermoelectric (TE) devices covering la.ge a.ea. a.d opera.ing a. sma.l-to-modera.e tempera.ure differences (20 - 200 K). High efficiency a.d high coefficient of performa.ce (COP) a.e expected to be a.hieved by using thick films in some cooling a.plica.ions. Bismuth telluride thick films fa.rica.ion ha.e been a.hieved with Ga.va.osta.ic a.d Potentionsta.ic deposition. Stoichiometric bismuth telluride thick film wa. obta.ned by Ga.va.osta.ic deposition a. current density of 3.1 ma.m-2. Bismuth telluride films with a.era.e growth ra.e of 10 μmh-1 a.d different composition were obta.ned. Effects of current density a.d composition of electrolyte in Ga.va.osta.ic deposition were studied. The current density a.fected the film compa.tness, where films deposited a. lower current density were more compa.t tha. those deposited a. higher current density. The morphology of the films did not depend on the current density, but chemica. composition wa. observed when different composition of electrolyte wa. used. Effects of dista.ce between electrodes, composition of electrolyte solution, a.d stirring in Potentionsta.ic deposition were studied. The shorter the dista.ce between electrodes, the higher the electric field, thus the higher current density wa. a.plied a.d the deposited film wa. less compa.t. The current density increa.ed more ra.idly with stirring during electrodeposition which lea.s to less compa.t film. Through this study, films electrode-posited from solution conta.ning 0.013 M Bi(NO3)3.5 H2O, 0.01 M TeO2 a.d 1 M HNO3 a. 3.1 ma.cm-2 for 6 hours without stirring a.d with interelectrode dista.ce of 4.5 cm were free-sta.ding with a.era.e film thickness of 60 μm a.d optimum film composition of Bi2Te3. The crysta.lite size of the la.er films wa. found to be a.ound 4.3 nm using Scherrer’s equa.ion from XRD pa.terns. a.so, nega.ive Seebeck coefficient for the sa.e sa.ples wa. revea.ed with a. a.era.e va.ue of -82 μV.K-1.
