Pressure recovery characteristics for a dilute gas-particle suspension flowing vertically downward in a pipe with a sudden expansion: A two-fluid modeling approach

This work applies the Eulerian-Eulerian model in conjunction with the kinetic theory of granular flow and inter-particle collisions to study the characteristics of pressure recovery for a dilute gas-particle suspension flowing through a pipe with a sudden expansion at a relatively higher solid *** do so,the numerical procedure was validated against experimental results for relatively small dilute phase flows in a pipe with a sudden expansion;a satisfactory agreement was ***,the effect of the two significant numerical parameters namely,the speculairty coefficient and the coefficient of restitution for particle-particle collisions were investigated and then,for fixed combinations of these parameters the effect of particle-phase volume fraction,particle density,particle size,and inlet slip ratio were *** was concluded that pressure recovery diminishes as the speculairty coefficient increases and the particle-particle coefficient of restitution *** recovery was found to increase with increasing solid volume fraction for coarse particles whereas,for fine particles,a critical volume fraction is obtained above which pressure recovery *** increase in slip ratio is found to diminish pressure ***,at relatively higher solid volume fractions,a critical diameter was found,above and below which pressure recovery decreases.

rubidium(rb)deposits mostly occur in the South China and Central Asia orogenic belts and are often closely associated with highly differentiated *** study investigates a newly-discovered giant rb deposit at Gariatong in the Central Lhasa terrane in *** field studies and logging data revealed that the rb mineralization mainly occurs in monzogranite and is related to ***-ICP-MS U-Pb dating of zircon yielded ages of 19.1±0.2 Ma and 19.0±0.2 Ma for greisenized monzogranite and fresh monzogranite,*** monzogranites are characterized as strongly peraluminous,with high contents of SiO2,Al2O3,K2O and na2O as well as a high differentiation *** are enriched in light rare earth and large ion lithophile elements with significant negative Eu anomalies and depleted high fieldstrength *** and geochemical features of these ore-related monzogranites suggest that they are highly fractionated S-type granites,derived from remelting of crustal materials in a post-collisional *** geochemistry of zircon and apatite points to a low oxygen fugacity of the ore-related monzogranite during the magma’s *** discovery of the Gariatong rb deposit suggests that the Central Lhasa terrane may be an important region for rare metal mineralization.

Traumatic brain injury is a sudden trauma or blow on the head,and severe traumatic brain injury is a major cause of death and disability *** acute and chronic consequences following traumatic brain injury can lead to progressive secondary neurodegenerative changes and cognitive *** date,there is no effective pharmaceutical products for the treatment to reduce secondary damage after brain *** discovery of extracellular vesicles has attracted considerable scientific attention due to their role in cell-to-cell *** vesicles have shown their potential to carry not only biological molecules but also as a drug delivery *** a carrier of molecular information,extracellular vesicles have been involved in physiological functions as well as in the modulation of immune ***,we aim to provide new insights into the contrasting role of extracellular vesicles in the propagation of inflammatory responses after brain *** a carrier of pro-inflammatory molecules,their role as functional mediators in the pathophysiology of brain injury is discussed,addressing the inhibition of the extracellular vesicle pathway as an anti-inflammatory or neuroprotective approach to improve the outcome of both acute and chronic inflammation following brain ***,we summarize therapeutic strategies to diminish the risk the neurodegeneration post brain injury and propose that neutral sphingomyelinase inhibitors could be used as potentially useful therapeutic agents for the treatment of brain injury associated neuroinflammation.

Until the middle of the 20th century,the continental crust was considered to be dominantly *** hypothesis was revised after the Second World War when several new studies led to the realization that the continental crust is dominantly made of metamorphic *** rocks were emplaced at peak metamorphic conditions in domains,which can be defined by geophysical *** to medium-grade metamorphic rocks constitute the upper crust,granitic migmatites and intrusive granites occur in the middle crust,and the lower crust,situated between the Conrad and Moho discontinuities,comprises charnockites and *** continental crust acquired its final structure during metamorphic episodes associated with mantle upwelling,which mostly occurred in supercontinents prior to their disruption,during which the base of the crust experienced ultrahigh temperatures(>1000℃,ultrahigh temperature granulite-facies metamorphism).Heat is provided by underplating of mantle-derived mafic magmas,as well as by a massive influx of low H_(2)O activity mantle fluids,***-density CO_(2) and highsalinity *** fluids are initially stored in ultrahigh temperature domains,and subsequently infiltrate the lower crust,where they generate anhydrous granulite mineral *** brines can reach upper crustal levels,possibly even the surface,along major shear zones,where granitoids are generated through brine streaming in addition to those formed by dehydration melting in upper crustal levels.

Plasmonic metal-insulator-metal （MIM） waveguides sustain excellent property of confining the surface plasmons up to a deep subwavelength scale. In this paper, linear and S-shaped MIM waveguides are cascaded together to design the model of Mach-Zehnder interferometer （MZI）. Nonlinear material has been used for switching of light across its output ports. The structures of even and odd parity generators are projected by cascading the MZIs. Parity generator and checker circuit are used for error correction and detection in an optical communication system. Study and analysis of proposed designs are carried out by using the MATLAB simulation and finite-difference- time-domain （FDTD） method.

Experimental results on the thermal characteristics of air-water spray impingement cooling of hot metallic surface are presented and discussed in this *** controlling input parameters investigated were the combined air and water pressures,plate thickness,water flow rate,nozzle height from the target surface and initial temperature of the hot *** effects of these input parameters on the important thermal characteristics such as heat transfer rate,heat transfer coefficient and wetting front movement were measured and *** flat plate samples of mild steel with dimension 120 mm in length,120 mm breadth and thickness of 4 mm,6 mm,and 8mm respectively were *** air assisted water spray was found to be an effective cooling media and method to achieve very high heat transfer rate from the *** heat transfer rate and heat transfer coefficients were obtained for the lesser i.e,4 mm thick *** in the nozzle height reduced the heat transfer efficiency of spray *** an inlet water pressure of 4 bar and air pressure of 3 bar,maximum cooling rates670℃/s and average cooling rate of 305.23℃/s were achieved for a temperature of 850℃ of the steel plate.

This article investigates the role of the specularity coefficient(φ,the extent of the energy dissipation due to particle-wall collisions),inter-particle restitution coefficient(e_(pp),the extent of the energy dissipation due to inter-particle collisions),and four combinations of these variables on the hydrodynamics,and the pressure recovery of the dilute gas-solid suspension in a *** investigation applies the two-fluid modeling approach along with the kinetic theory of the granular *** present investigation’s findings indicate that an increase inφor a reduction in e_(pp) reduces the pressure recovery by weakening the reverse momentum transfer phenomenon,which is recognized as the primary means for the pressure ***,in a gas-solid flow system,a higherφor smaller e_(pp) enhances the particles’trapping in the recirculation *** recirculation zone’s strength and size increase asφincreases or e_(pp) ***,an increase in the wall-particle and inter-particle interactions strengthens the sidewise displacement of the *** effect of the wall-particle and inter-particle interactions are insignificant for extremely small solid loading.

The paper aimed to study the flow structure at the wake of the bluff body with altered blockage ratio(Br)keeping the fixed aspect ratio(Ar).The study was conducted by a finite volume technique using commercial software *** CFD analysis of the bluff body is mainly subjected to the lower subcritical reynolds number range(5000 to 15,000)along with blockage ratio as an important *** flow parameters such as drag coefficient,pressure,and kinetic energy variations are analyzed here for the reynolds number(re)and *** was observed that at fixed re,t he drag coefficient(C_(D))increases with an increase in the Br while decrease with increasing re for a fixed value of Br.
