X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS)produces a wealth of information about the local structure of materials,but interpretation of spectra often relies on easily accessible trends and prior assumptions about the ***,researchers have demonstrated that machine learning models can automate this process to predict the coordinating environments of absorbing atoms from their XAS ***,machine learning models are often difficult to interpret,making it challenging to determine when they are valid and whether they are consistent with physical *** this work,we present three main advances to the data-driven analysis of XAS spectra:we demonstrate the efficacy of random forests in solving two new property determination tasks(predicting Bader charge and mean nearest neighbor distance),we address how choices in data representation affect model interpretability and accuracy,and we show that multiscale featurization can elucidate the regions and trends in spectra that encode various local properties.

In this editorial we comment on the manuscript,describing management and surveillance strategies in synchronous and metachronous,gastric and colon *** or metachronous primary malignancies at different sites of the gastrointestinal tract pose a unique diagnostic and therapeutic *** services and strategies are required for the management of multiple site primary malignancies,to provide the best oncological *** this study highlights the dual cancers in 76 sporadic cases,the authors excluded 55 patients due to combination of factors which includes;incomplete clinical data,genetic syndrome,gastric stump *** addition,the authors did not elaborate if any patients presented with signet ring cell morphology,E-cadherin mutations or presence of inflammatory bowel *** and mutational errors and epithelial field defects from chronic inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract are important when considering synchronous gastric and colonic *** will briefly discuss these in this editorial.

The mechanism of gold migration,enrichment,and precipitation in forming world-class gold deposits has been a topic of wide interest,particularly where these deposits are abundant in *** Jiaodong Peninsula in eastern China hosts some of the world-class gold deposits among which the Jinqingding deposit is one of the best examples with substantial telluride mineralization and thus provides opportunity to investigate the genetic connection between tellurium and gold *** orebody in this deposit is hosted in the NE-NNE-trending Jiangjunshi-Quhezhuang fault with the Jurassic kunyushan granitic pluton as wall *** deposit involved three mineralization stages as inferred from assemblages and crosscutting relationships between *** stages are:(I)pre-ore gold-poor quartz-pyrite veins,(II)main ore auriferous quartz-pyrite-Te/Bi-minerals±sphalerite±chalcopyrite±barite±marcasite veins,and(III)post-ore quartz-calcite *** present here the textural,isotopic,and geochemical variations of different stages/generations of pyrite based on scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy(SEM-EDS),electron probe microanalysis(EPMA),and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(LA-ICP-MS).Pyrite in the Jinqingding deposit displays distinct ***1a shows a porous and dissolution-reprecipitation texture in the core,whereas Py1b exhibits a smooth and flat *** analysis reveals contrasting elemental compositions,with Py1a characterized by low Au(avg.0.14 ppm),As(avg.15.57 ppm),Ag(avg.17.71 ppm),and Te(avg.19.22 ppm)contents,but elevated Co(avg.1068.10 ppm)and Ni(224.12 ppm)concentrations,and variable sulfur isotopic composition(δ^(34)SV-CDT=9.54‰-12.12‰).Conversely,Py1b displays increased concentrations of these elements and a more concentratedδ^(34)SV-CDT value(11.99‰-12.23‰),possibly associated with weak coupled dissolution-reprecipitation(CDR)*** Stage II,pyrite can be further categorized

Enhancing corrosion resistance of plasma electrolytic oxidation coatings on AM50 Mg alloy by inhibitor containing Ba(NO_(3))_(2) solutions

To enhance the long-term corrosion resistance of the plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)coating on the magnesium(Mg)alloy,an inorganic salt combined with corrosion inhibitors was used for posttreatment of the *** this study,the corrosion performance of PEO-coated AM50 Mg was significantly improved by loading sodium lauryl sulfonate(SDS)and sodium dodecyl benzene sulf-onate into Ba(NO_(3))_(2) post-sealing *** electron microscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,Fourier transform infrared spectrometer,and ultraviolet-visible analyses showed that the inhibitors enhanced the incorporation of BaO_(2) into PEO *** impedance showed that post-sealing in Ba(NO_(3))_(2)/SDS treatment enhanced corrosion resistance by three orders of *** total impedance value remained at 926Ω·cm^(2)after immersing in a 0.5wt%NaCl solution for 768 h.A salt spray test for 40 days did not show any obvious region of corrosion,proving excellent post-sealing by Ba(NO_(3))_(2)/SDS *** corrosion resistance of the coating was enhanced through the synergistic effect of BaO2 pore sealing and SDS adsorption.

The present study is a systematic effort to investigate the structure-sensitive magnetic parameters of Ce^(3+) substituted Ba-Sr hexaferrite nanocrystals chemically formulated as Ba_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Ce_(x)Fe_(12-x)O_(19) where x=0.0-0.2 with Δx=*** hexaferrite powders were prepared using the sol-gel self-ignition route and structurally characterized by means of powder X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared *** creation of the M-type hexaferrite phase within the synthesized samples was revealed from the Rietveld refinement of the X-ray *** occurrence of a secondary phase of CeO_(2) was revealed within the hexaferrites for the substitution,x> *** refined X-ray diffraction data were utilized to compute the lattice parameters,X-ray density,and lattice parameter *** crystal structure plotted from the refined XRD data reveals the occupancy of the ions at different lattice *** XPS data of the hexaferrite were analyzed to confirm the oxidation states of the constituent *** nanocrystalline nature of the hexaferrites was revealed from the crystallite sizes calculated using Scherer's *** analysis of FTIR spectra confirms that only a fraction of Ce^(3+)accommodated in the lattice and the remaining Ce content reside in the form of the CeO_(2) *** morphology of the hexaferrites was analyzed from the FESEM profiles of the ferrite *** magnetic behavior study was performed by analyzing the Curie temperature,hysteresis loops,and hyperfine interactions by means of susceptibility,V.S.M,and Mossbauer spectroscopy,*** hexaferrites with increasing coercivity,decreasing saturation magnetization,and decreasing Curie temperature are reported in the *** substituted Ce^(3+)ions inhibit the grain growth and create lattice imperfections giving rise to hexaferrites with tuned magnetic parameters suitable for different applications.
