background Minimally invasive surgery(MIS)for spontaneous supratentorial intracerebral haemorrhage(ICH)is controversial but may be beneficial if end-of-treatment(EOT)haematoma volume is reduced to≤15 *** explored whether MRI findings of cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD)modify the effect of MIS on long-term *** Prespecified blinded subgroup analysis of 288 subjects with qualified imaging sequences from the phase 3 Minimally Invasive Surgery Plus Alteplase for Intracerebral Haemorrhage Evacuation(MISTIE)*** tested for heterogeneity in the effects of MIS and MIS+EOT volume≤15 mL on the trial’s primary outcome of good versus poor function at 1 year by the presence of single CSVD features and CSVD scores using multivariable *** Of 499 patients enrolled in MISTIE III,288 patients had MRI,149(51.7%)randomised to MIS and 139(48.3%)to standard medical care(SMC).Median(IQR)ICH volume was 42(30–53)*** the full MRI cohort,there was no statistically significant heterogeneity in the effects of MIS versus SMC on 1-year outcomes by any specific CSVD feature or by CSVD scores(all P_(interaction)>0.05).In 94 MIS patients with EOT ICH volume≤15 mL,significant reduction in odds of poor outcome was found with cerebral amyloid angiopathy scorebsence of lacunes(OR,0.37(0.18–0.80);P_(interaction)=0.02)and absence of severe white matter hyperintensities(WMHs)(OR,0.22(0.08–0.58);P_(interaction)=0.03).Conclusions Following successful haematoma reduction by MIS,we found significantly lower odds of poor functional outcome with lower total burden of CSVD in addition to absence of lacunes and severe *** features may have utility for prognostication and patient selection in clinical trials of MIS.

Machine learning empowers efficient design of ternary organic solar cells with PM6 donor

Organic solar cells(OSCs) hold great potential as a photovoltaic technology for practical ***, the traditional experimental trial-and-error method for designing and engineering OSCs can be complex, expensive, and time-consuming. Machine learning(ML) techniques enable the proficient extraction of information from datasets, allowing the development of realistic models that are capable of predicting the efficacy of materials with commendable accuracy. The PM6 donor has great potential for high-performance OSCs. However, it is crucial for the rational design of a ternary blend to accurately forecast the power conversion efficiency(PCE) of ternary OSCs(TOSCs) based on a PM6 ***, we collected the device parameters of PM6-based TOSCs and evaluated the feature importance of their molecule descriptors to develop predictive models. In this study, we used five different ML algorithms for analysis and prediction. For the analysis, the classification and regression tree provided different rules, heuristics, and patterns from the heterogeneous dataset. The random forest algorithm outperforms other prediction ML algorithms in predicting the output performance of PM6-based TOSCs. Finally, we validated the ML outcomes by fabricating PM6-based TOSCs. Our study presents a rapid strategy for assessing a high PCE while elucidating the substantial influence of diverse descriptors.

On the Role of Dual Active Margin Collision for Exhuming the World's Largest Ultrahigh Pressure Metamorphic belt

AbSTRACT： A wide variety of tectonic models have been invoked to explain the exhumation of the world＇s largest ultrahigh pressure （UHP） orogenic belt, the Qinling Dabieshan Sulu belt in China, and its correlatives in Korea. Most of these models assume that the orogen contains one main collisional suture between the North and South China cratons that collided in the Mesozoic. New field data reveal that this model is too simplistic, and that the collision involved an additional mi- croplate, which initially rifted off the Yangtze craton. This continental microplate was partially sub- ducted beneath an active margin on the North China craton, and subsequently an additional active Andean-style margin developed on the southern margin of the Qinling microplate after collision, leav- ing the near-vertical microplate wedged between the two thickened and thermally softened margins. The thermo-mechanical environment of collision thus left a cold, thick, and buoyant microplate wedged between two easily deformed margins, which acted as power-law creep channels, accommodating rapid buoyancy-driven rise of a 2 000 km long wedge of the subducted microplate, which became intimately involved with the collisional process. An addi- tional segment of the northern Yangtze craton was subducted to ~100 kin, and formed a separate wedge that rose alongside the thermally softened margin of the Qinling mieroeontinent, and was bordered on the south by the recently thermally- softened rift zone where the Qinling mieroeonti- nent broke off the Yangtze eraton between Late Devonian and Permian times. Recognizing the dual active margins in Qinling-Dabieshan-Sulu orogen and the thermally-softened power-law creep channels sheds new light on understanding exhumation of the world＇s largest ultrahigh pressure belt. We propose that this model is generally applicable to other UHP belts worldwide.

Mantle convection modeling of the supercontinent cycle: Introversion,extroversion, or a combination?

The periodic assembly and dispersal of continental fragments, referred to as the supercontinent cycle, bear close relation to the evolution of mantle convection and plate tectonics. Supercontinent formation involves complex processes of ＂introversion＂（closure of interior oceans）, ＂extroversion＂（closure of exterior oceans）, or a combination of these processes in uniting dispersed continental fragments, Recent developments in numerical modeling and advancements in computation techniques enable us to simulate Earth＇s mantle convection with drifting continents under realistic convection vigor and rheology in Earth-like geometry （i.e., 3D spherical-shell）. We report a numerical simulation of 3D mantle convection, incorporating drifting deformable continents, to evaluate supercontinent processes in a realistic mantle convection regime. Our results show that supercontinents are assembled by a combi- nation of introversion and extroversion processes. Small-scale thermal heterogeneity dominates deep mantle convection during the supercontinent cycle, although large-scale upwelling plumes intermit- tently originate under the drifting continents and/or the supercontinent.

Petrology and phase equilibrium modeling of sapphirine ＋ quartz assemblage from the Napier Complex, East Antarctica: Diagnostic evidence for Neoarchean ultrahigh-temperature metamorphism

A synthesis of the petrological characters of granulite facies rocks that contain equilibrium sapphirine ＋ quartz assemblage from two localities （Tonagh Island （TI） and Priestley Peak （PP）） in the Napier Complex,East Antarctica,provides unequivocal evidence for extreme crustal metamorphism possibly associated with the collisional orogeny during *** reaction microstructures associated with sapphirine ＋ quartz vary among the samples,probably suggesting different tectonic conditions during the metamorphic *** and quartz in TI sample were probably in equilibrium at the peak stage,but now separated by corona of Grt ＋ Sil ＋ Opx suggesting near isobaric cooling after the peak metamorphism,whereas the Spr ＋ Qtz ＋ Sil ＋ Crd ＋ Spl assemblage replaces garnet in PP sample suggesting post-peak *** application of mineral equilibrium modeling in NCKFMASHTO system demonstrated that Spr ＋ Qtz stability is lowered down to 930 ℃ due to small Fe3＋ contents in the rocks （mole Fe2O3/（FeO ＋ Fe2O3） =0.02）.The TI sample yields a peak p-T range of 950-1100 ℃ and 7.5-11 kbar,followed by cooling toward a retrograde stage of 800-950 ℃ and 8-10 kbar,possibly along a counterclockwise p-T *** contrast,the peak condition of the PP sample shows 1000-1050 ℃ and ＞12 kbar,which was followed by the formation ofSpr ＋ Qtz corona around garnet at 930-970 ℃ and 6.7-7.7 kbar,suggesting decompression possibly along a clockwise p-T *** contrasting p-T paths are consistent with a recent model on the structural framework of the Napier Complex that correlates the two areas to different crustal *** different p-T paths obtained from the two localities might reflect the difference in the tectonic framework of these rocks within a complex Neoarchean subduction/collision belt.

The mechanism of gold migration,enrichment,and precipitation in forming world-class gold deposits has been a topic of wide interest,particularly where these deposits are abundant in *** Jiaodong Peninsula in eastern China hosts some of the world-class gold deposits among which the Jinqingding deposit is one of the best examples with substantial telluride mineralization and thus provides opportunity to investigate the genetic connection between tellurium and gold *** orebody in this deposit is hosted in the NE-NNE-trending Jiangjunshi-Quhezhuang fault with the Jurassic Kunyushan granitic pluton as wall *** deposit involved three mineralization stages as inferred from assemblages and crosscutting relationships between *** stages are:(I)pre-ore gold-poor quartz-pyrite veins,(II)main ore auriferous quartz-pyrite-Te/bi-minerals±sphalerite±chalcopyrite±barite±marcasite veins,and(III)post-ore quartz-calcite *** present here the textural,isotopic,and geochemical variations of different stages/generations of pyrite based on scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy(SEM-EDS),electron probe microanalysis(EPMA),and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(LA-ICP-MS).Pyrite in the Jinqingding deposit displays distinct ***1a shows a porous and dissolution-reprecipitation texture in the core,whereas Py1b exhibits a smooth and flat *** analysis reveals contrasting elemental compositions,with Py1a characterized by low Au(avg.0.14 ppm),As(avg.15.57 ppm),Ag(avg.17.71 ppm),and Te(avg.19.22 ppm)contents,but elevated Co(avg.1068.10 ppm)and Ni(224.12 ppm)concentrations,and variable sulfur isotopic composition(δ^(34)SV-CDT=9.54‰-12.12‰).Conversely,Py1b displays increased concentrations of these elements and a more concentratedδ^(34)SV-CDT value(11.99‰-12.23‰),possibly associated with weak coupled dissolution-reprecipitation(CDR)*** Stage II,pyrite can be further categorized

Detrital zircon geochronology of the Lutzow-Holm Complex,East Antarctica:Implications for Antarctica-Sri Lanka correlation

The Lützow-Holm Complex(LHC) of East Antarctica has been regarded as a collage of Neoarchean(ca.2.5 Ga), Paleoproterozoic(ca. 1.8 Ga), and Neoproterozoic(ca. 1.0 Ga) magmatic arcs which were amalgamated through the latest Neoproterozoic collisional events during the assembly of Gondwana supercontinent. Here, we report new geochronological data on detrital zircons in metasediments associated with the magmatic rocks from the LHC, and compare the age spectra with those in the adjacent terranes for evaluating the tectonic correlation of East Antarctica and Sri Lanka. Cores of detrital zircon grains with high Th/U ratio in eight metasediment samples can be subdivided into two dominant groups:(1) late Meso-to Neoproterozoic(1.1-0.63 Ga) zircons from the northeastern part of the LHC in Prince Olav Coast and northern Soya Coast areas, and(2) dominantly Neoarchean to Paleoproterozoic(2.8-2.4 Ga) zircons from the southwestern part of the LHC in southern Lutzow-Holm bay area. The ca.1.0 Ga and ca. 2.5 Ga magmatic suites in the LHC could be proximal provenances of the detrital zircons in the northeastern and southwestern LHC, respectively. Subordinate middle to late Mesoproterozoic(1.3-1.2 Ga) detrital zircons obtained from Akarui Point and Langhovde could have been derived from adjacent Gondwana fragments(e.g., Rayner Complex, Eastern Ghats belt). Meso-to Neoproterozoic domains such as Vijayan and Wanni Complexes of Sri Lanka, the southern Madurai block of southern India, and the central-western Madagascar could be alternative distal sources of the late Meso-to Neoproterozoic zircons. Paleo-to Mesoarchean domains in India, Africa, and Antarctica might also be distal sources for the minor ~2.8 Ga detrital zircons from Skallevikshalsen. The detrital zircons from the Highland Complex of Sri Lanka show similar Neoarchean to Paleoproterozoic(ca. 2.5 Ga) and Neoproterozoic(ca. 1.0 Ga) ages, which are comparable with those of the LHC, suggesting that the two complexes might have form
