This article aims to understand the training process of history undergraduates,to see if there are decolonial curricular practices to combat racism at the Centro Universitário e Faculdade Projeção(UniProjeção)in the Federal District,to understand how coloniality has corroborated the exclusion of different epistemologies and the erasure of different cultures,and how this exclusionary process of coloniality interferes in the training of history *** order to combat this practice,we are looking for alternatives that can break these suppressions carried out by *** this way,we turn to decolonial ideas that aim to break with the logic of *** can conclude that these practices are poorly developed in the institution,so we proposed active problem-based methodology and music as a didactic *** playful educational tools that strengthen the teaching-learning process,they are active agents in the decolonial work of combating racism,and it is essential to train responsible and ethical teachers in the fight against racism and any form of oppression.

Tree height (H) in a natural stand or forest plantation is a fundamental variable in management, and the use of mathematical expressions that estimate H as a function of diameter at breast height (d) or variables at the stand level is a valuable support tool in forest inventories. The objective was to fit and propose a generalized H-d model for Pinus montezumae and Pinus pseudostrobus established in forest plantations of nuevo San Juan Parangaricutiro, Michoacan, Mexico. Using nonlinear least squares (nlS), 10 generalized H-d models were fitted to 883 and 1226 pairs of H-d data from Pinus montezumae and Pinus pseudostrobus, respectively. The best model was refitted with the maximum likelihood mixed effects model (MEM) approach by including the site as a classification variable and a known variance structure. The Wang and Tang equation was selected as the best model with nlS;the MEM with an additive effect on two of its parameters and an exponential variance function improved the fit statistics for Pinus montezumae and Pinus pseudostrobus, respectively. The model validation showed equality of means among the estimates for both species and an independent subsample. The calibration of the MEM at the plot level was efficient and might increase the applicability of these results. The inclusion of dominant height in the MEM approach helped to reduce bias in the estimates and also to better explain the variability among plots.

nutritional Screening Tools in Institutionalized People: A Case Study of Using nutritional Risk Screening (nRS 2002) and Mini nutritional Assessment (MnA)

nutritional status expresses the physiological and nutritional needs to maintain the composition and adequate functioning of the organism. nRS 2002 and MnA protocols were applied to short-term institutionalized patients in Rio Verde (Brazil). Older adults and people with special needs of all ages, both sexes, regardless of possible pathology they may have, except if it causes contagion, were included, patients duly authorized by the person responsible for the institution and who were able to undergo evaluation. Thirty-eight patients from the institution were evaluated, of which ten were excluded from the research according to pre-established criteria. More than 50% of participants were male, with an overall average age of 63.43 years. The characteristics related to nutritional status by nRS 2002 and MnA showed that the risk of malnutrition and its absence are associated with a wide age range. The MnA presents a more nuanced nutritional risk classification, showing that even 61% of the 96% of participants who would be out of nutrition risk, according to the nRS 2002, are “at risk of malnutrition”. Applying the MnA can demonstrate more conservative results than the nRS 2002.

盐沼是一种富含碳的生态系统,通过有效地固定大气中的CO_(2),在气候调节中发挥着重要的作用.然而,气候变化对盐沼造成了严重威胁,可能会影响盐沼的碳汇过程.在此背景下,间隙水交换(PEX)碳排放作为一项重要但一直被忽视的碳循环过程应受到重视.本文系统评估了盐沼中碳和温室气体排放的驱动因素,揭示了PEX作为主要过程对碳和温室气体动态变化的调控作用.通过综合分析全球33个盐沼PEX案例后发现,全球盐沼PEX碳通量约占全球盐沼初级生产力的48%,超过全球盐沼有机碳埋藏量的2.2倍.这一发现突显了PEX在盐沼碳收支中的主导作用.尽管PEX排放的部分无机碳以CO_(2)形式返回大气中,但剩余的碳酸盐会在海洋中长期稳定储存.因此,这项研究对于加强全球蓝碳评估,并为利用盐沼作为基于自然的解决方案来应对全球气候变化提供了科学依据.

Fetal MRI Artifacts: Semi-Supervised Generative Adversarial neural network for Motion Artifacts Reducing in Fetal Magnetic Resonance Images

This study addresses challenges in fetal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) related to motion artifacts, maternal respiration, and hardware limitations. To enhance MRI quality, we employ deep learning techniques, specifically utilizing Cycle GAn. Synthetic pairs of images, simulating artifacts in fetal MRI, are generated to train the model. Our primary contribution is the use of Cycle GAn for fetal MRI restoration, augmented by artificially corrupted data. We compare three approaches (supervised Cycle GAn, Pix2Pix, and Mobile Unet) for artifact removal. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed supervised Cycle GAn effectively removes artifacts while preserving image details, as validated through Structural Similarity Index Measure (SSIM) and normalized Mean Absolute Error (MAE). The method proves comparable to alternatives but avoids the generation of spurious regions, which is crucial for medical accuracy.

目的旨在通过系统综述,确定针对复杂慢性病患者增强自我管理的干预措施,以改善慢性呼吸困难,为护理人员促进该类人群的自我管理提供依据。方法2023年12月,系统检索Medline、Scopus、Web of Science、CInAHl、Cochrane图书馆和乔安娜布里格斯研究所(Joanna Briggs Institute,JBI)循证实践数据库。对纳入研究进行数据提取和综合,研究人员采用Rayyan文献管理软件筛选标题及摘要,并依据JBI研究质量评估工具进行方法学质量评估。结果共纳入18项研究。这些研究探讨了针对慢性呼吸困难的各种干预措施,包括药物干预(氧气疗法和吸入疗法)和非药物方法(教育计划、呼吸练习、液体摄入管理、身体感知技术、同伴支持、情商培训和网络应用程序的使用)。这些干预措施减轻了患者情绪困扰,可以使患者在自我管理方面变得独立自主。结论促进复杂慢性病患者对慢性呼吸困难的自我管理需要采取综合方法,但目前研究中没有充分考虑到针对患者行为改变的干预措施,需要进一步开展相关研究完善干预措施。

Channel Flows in Plate Heat Exchangers with the Aid of Particle Tracking Velocimetry

Channel flows of Plate Heat Exchangers (PHEs) were assessed by experiments with three different chevron angle arrangements in turbulent regime. Two chevron angles were selected to assess low and high pressure drop channels, besides a third mixed configuration as to achieve in-between results regarding hydraulic performance. Friction factor correlations were provided with the channel Reynolds number ranging from 1175 to 8325. Two-dimensional (2D) mean velocity field was obtained by Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV) with Reynolds number equal to 3450. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first experimental study that quantified the complete 2D velocity field of a typical PHE channel. This value allowed comparison with literature results of Plate and Shell Heat Exchanger (PSHE) channels with the same Reynolds number. PSHE mean velocity field is highly heterogeneous as compared to the one obtained for PHE channels. Peak velocity magnitude in the PSHE center is 50% higher than its bulk velocity, whereas this value is only 15% higher in the PHE center. Pressure drop in PHE mixed channels cannot be approximated by averaging chevron angles: furrow flow prevailed in the specified conditions. The axial velocity is asymmetric regarding the vertical plane. Smooth streamlines prevail in the channel inlet. Recirculation zones at the channel exit affect pipe flow in the manifold outlet with swirling flow structures. The necessary length to obtain fully developed pipe flow at the channel outlet was estimated. Significant velocity components occur in the distribution areas and can limit the heat exchanger performance. The results reported herein are essential to understand how the PHE channel geometry affects the velocity field and, therefore, local heat transfer and dissipation processes.

Since 2014,"Bring Your Own Data"workshops(BYODs)have been organised to inform people about the process and benefits of making resources Findable,Accessible,Interoperable,and Reusable(FAIR,and the FAIRification process).The BYOD workshops'content and format differ depending on their goal,context,and the background and needs of ***-focused BYODs educate domain experts on how to make their data FAIR to find new answers to research ***-focused BYODs promote the benefits of making data FAIR and instruct project managers and policy-makers on the characteristics of FAIRification ***-focused BYODs gather software developers and experts on FAIR to implement or improve software resources that are used to support ***,these BYODs intend to foster collaboration between different types of stakeholders involved in data management,curation,and reuse(*** experts,trainers,developers,data owners,data analysts,FAIR experts).The BYODs also serve as an opportunity to learn what kind of support for FAIRification is needed from different communities and to develop teaching materials based on practical examples and *** this paper,we detail the three different structures of the BYODs and describe examples of early BYODs related to plant breeding data,and rare disease registries and biobanks,which have shaped the structure of the *** discuss the latest insights into making BYODs more productive by leveraging our almost ten years of training experience in these workshops,including successes and encountered ***,we examine how the participants'feedback has motivated the research on FAIR,including the development of workflows and software.
