Under.tanding the factor. shaping species' distr.butions is a key longstanding topic in ecology with unr.solved issues. The aims wer. to test whether.the r.lative contr.bution of abiotic factor. that set the geogr.phical r.nge of fr.shwater.fish species may var. spatially and/or.may depend on the geogr.phical extent that is being consider.d. The r.lative contr.bution of factor., to discr.minate between the conditions pr.vailing in the ar.a wher. the species is pr.sent and those existing in the consider.d extent, was estimated with the instability index included in the r.package SPEDInstabr. We used 3 differ.nt extent sizes: 1) each r.ver.basin wher. the species is pr.sent (local); 2) all r.ver.basins wher. the species is pr.sent (r.gional); and 3) the whole Ear.h (global). We used a data set of 16,543 fr.shwater.fish species with a total of 845,764 geogr.phical r.cor.s, together.with bioclimatic and topogr.phic var.ables. Factor. associated with temper.tur. and altitude show the highest r.lative contr.bution to explain the distr.bution of fr.shwater.fishes at the smaller.consider.d extent. Altitude and a mix of factor. associated with temper.tur. and pr.cipitation wer. mor. impor.ant when using the r.gional extent. Factor. associated with pr.cipitation show the highest contr.bution when using the global extent. Ther. was also spatial var.ability in the impor.ance of factor., both between species and within species and fr.m r.gion to r.gion. Factor. associated with pr.cipitation show a clear.latitudinal tr.nd of decr.asing in impor.ance towar. the equator.

Cell extr.sion is an active mechanism to eliminate non-viable or.super.umer.r. cells in healthy epithelia.It also plays a r.le in car.inogenesis,both in tumor.gr.wth(apical extr.sion)and metastasis(basal extr.sion).Embr.onic tissues like the neur.epithelium,on the other.hand,pr.sent r.tes of pr.lifer.tion compar.ble to that of car.inomas,without the occur.ence of cell extr.sion.However.the downr.gulation or.phosphor.lation of actinmodulating pr.teins like MAr.KS,causes extensive neur.epithelial apical cell extr.sion.As changes in MAr.KS pr.teins phosphor.lation and expr.ssion have also been cor.elated to car.inogenesis,we pr.pose her. an integr.ted model for.their.functions in epithelial integr.ty.

This study pr.poses a hypoder.ic needle(HN)as a sor.ent holder.and an electr.spr.y(ESI)emitter.thus combining extr.ction and analysis in a single device.A novel nylon 6-cellulose(N6-Cel)composite sor.ent is pr.posed to extr.ct methadone fr.m or.l fluid samples.The cellulosic substr.te pr.vides the composite with high por.sity,per.itting the flow-thr.ugh of the sample,while the polyamide contr.butes to the extr.ction of the analyte.The low pr.ce of the devices(consider.ng the holder.and the sor.ent)contr.butes to the affor.ability of the method,and their.small size allows easy tr.nspor.ation,opening the door.to on-site extr.ctions.Under.the optimum conditions,the analyte can be deter.ined by high-r.solution ambient ionization mass spectr.metr. at a limit of detection(LOD)as low as 0.3 mg/L and pr.cision(expr.ssed as r.lative standar. deviation,r.D)better.than 9.3%.The tr.eness,expr.ssed as r.lative r.cover.(r.),r.nged fr.m 90%to 109%.As high-r.solution mass spectr.meter. ar. not available in many labor.tor.es,the method was also adapted to low-r.solution spectr.meter..In this sense,the dir.ct infusion of the eluates in a tr.ple quadr.pole-mass spectr.metr. pr.vided an LOD of 2.2 mg/L.The r.D was better.than 5.3%,and the r. r.nged fr.m 96%to 121%.

Tetr.gonisca angustula is one of the most widespr.ad stingless bees in the Neotr.pics. This species swar.s fr.quently and is extr.mely successful in ur.an envi- r.nments. In addition, it is one of the most popular.stingless bee species for.beekeeping in Latin Amer.ca, so nest tr.nspor.ation and tr.ding is common. Nest tr.nspor.ation can change the genetic str.ctur. of the host population, r.ducing inbr.eding and incr.asing homogenization. Her., we evaluate the genetic str.ctur. of 17 geogr.phic populations of T. angustula in souther. Br.zil to quantify the level of genetic differ.ntiation between populations. Analyses wer. conducted on par.ially sequenced mitochondr.al genes and 11 micr.satellite loci of 1002 wor.er. fr.m 457 sites distr.buted on the mainland and on 3 islands. Our.r.sults show that T. angustula populations ar. highly differ.ntiated as demon- str.ted by mitochondr.al DNA （mtDNA） and micr.satellite mar.er.. Of 73 haplotypes, 67 wer. population-specific. MtDNA diver.ity was low in 9 populations but micr.satellite diver.ity was moder.te to high in all populations. Micr.satellite data suggest 10 genetic cluster. and low level of gene flow thr.ughout the studied ar.a. However. physical bar.i- er., such as r.ver. and mountain r.nges, or.the pr.sence or.absence of for.st appear.to be unr.lated to population cluster.. Factor. such as low disper.al, differ.nt ecological con- ditions, and isolation by distance ar. most likely shaping the population str.ctur. of this species. Thus far. nest tr.nspor.ation has not influenced the gener.l population str.ctur. in the studied ar.a. However. due to the genetic str.ctur. we found, we r.commend that nest tr.nspor.ation should only occur.within and between populations that ar. genetically similar.

Models on climate change have pr.dicted an incr.ase of temper.tur. over.the ear.h’s sur.ace with potential dr.stic effects on living or.anisms.We analyzed the r.lationships between climatic conditions(temper.tur.,r.infall,and wind speed)and the abundance of blood-sucking flying insects(biting midges and blackflies)and nest-dwelling ectopar.sites(mites,fleas,and blowflies)collected fr.m blue tit nests dur.ng bir. br.eding seasons for.a per.od of 10 year..Aver.ge temper.tur.,r.infall,and wind speed showed significant differ.nces among year..Temper.tur. and wind speed incr.ased dur.ng the per.od of study while r.infall decr.ased.Biting midge,blackfly,and blowfly abundances incr.ased acr.ss year. but not flea and mite abundances.Hatching date decr.ased and br.od size incr.ased acr.ss year..Independently of year.var.ation,par.sites wer. r.lated to climatic var.ables.For.example,biting midge,blowfly,mite,and flea abundances wer. positive and significantly r.lated to aver.ge temper.tur..We also found a positive and significant r.lationship between abundances of Haemopr.teus infections and biting midge abundances dur.ng the fir.t year.of life of bir.s out of nests.However.abundance and pr.valence of Lankester.lla infections in year.ings wer. positive and significantly r.lated to mite abundances dur.ng the year.of bir.h of bir.s.Leucocytozoon and Lankester.lla infections wer. also significantly r.lated to climatic var.ables and Haemopr.teus and Lankester.lla infections incr.ased acr.ss year..In addition,body condition of adult females and males wer. negatively r.lated to flea lar.ae and blowfly abundance r.spectively.Nestling body condition was also negatively r.lated to biting midge abundance.Changes in climatic conditions acr.ss year. could ther.for. affect sever.l par.sites of bir.s but also to bir.s themselves.

Objective:To assess the antioxidant activity of Ficus pseudopalma Blanco(Mor.ceae)(F.pseudopalma) and char.cter.ze the active components pr.sent in it.Methods:Column chr.matogr.phy of cr.de ethanol leaf extr.ct of F.pseudopalma was per.or.ed and seven fr.ctions wer. obtained,labeled as Ft.F2,F3,F4.F5,F6,F7.DPPH.Fr.P,Cr.ess,Kenton and super.xide r.dical scavenging assays wer. per.or.ed to assess the antioxidant ability of the fr.ctions.Thin layer.chr.matogr.phy(TLC),high per.or.ance liquid chr.matogr.phy and Four.er.tr.nsfer.infr.r.d spectr.scopy(FTIr. wer. per.or.ed to identify and char.cter.ze the bioactive component pr.sent in each fr.ctions of F.pseudopalma.r.sults:DPPH and Fr.P assay showed that F5.F6 and F7 exhibited the good pr.ton accepting ability and r.ducing power.as compar.d to the other.fr.ctions.All fr.ctions exhibited a good nitr.c oxide r.dical scavenging activity wher.in F1,F2 and F3 showed the highest inhibition.However.all of the fr.ctions exhibited a stimulator. activity on hydr.xyl and super.xide r.dicals.Lupeol matched one of the spots on the thin layer.chr.matogr.phy chr.matogr.m of the fr.ctions.Linear.gr.dient high per.or.ance liquid chr.matogr.phy and spiking of lupeol with the fr.ction r.vealed the pr.sence of 5.84 mg/L lupeol in F6.Infr.r.d spectr. of the fr.ctions r.vealed the pr.sence of C-C,OH,ar.matic C=C and C=O gr.ups.Conclusions:The identified lupeol in F.pseudopalma may be r.sponsible for.the exhibited antioxidant pr.per.y of the plant.Fur.her.or.,knowing the antioxidant capability of the plant,F.pseudopalma can be developed into pr.ducts which can help pr.vent the occur.ence of oxidative str.ss r.lated diseases.

The per.or.ance of a photovoltaic(PV)installation is affected by its tilt and azimuth angles,because these par.meter. change the amount of solar.ener.y absor.ed by the sur.ace of the PV modules.Ther.for.,this paper.demonstr.tes the impact of the azimuth angle on the ener.y pr.duction of PV installations.Two differ.nt PV sites wer. studied,wher. the fir.t compr.ses PV systems installed at-13°,-4°,+12°and+21°azimuth angles in differ.nt geogr.phical locations,wher.as the second PV site included adjacent PV systems installed at-87°,-32°,+2°and+17°azimuth angles.All the investigated PV sites wer. located in Hudder.field,UK.In summar.,the r.sults indicate that PV systems installed between-4°and+2°pr.sented the maximum ener.y pr.duction over.the last 4 year.,while the wor.t ener.y gener.tion wer. obser.ed for.the PV system installed at an azimuth angle of-87°.Finally,the pr.bability pr.jections for.all obser.ed azimuth angles datasets have been assessed.Since PV systems ar. affected by var.ous envir.nmental conditions such as fluctuations in the wind,humidity,solar.ir.adiance and ambient temper.tur.,ultimately,these factor. would affect the annual ener.y gener.tion of the PV installations.For.that r.ason,we have analysed the dispar.ties and the pr.bability of the annual ener.y pr.duction for.multiple PV systems installed at differ.nt azimuth angles r.nging fr.m-90°to+90°degr.es,and affected by differ.nt envir.nmental conditions.These analyses ar. based on the cumulative density function modelling technique as well as the nor.al distr.bution function.

Her.in,the synthesis and char.cter.zation methods of natur.l deep eutectic solvents based on monoter.enoids have been pr.sented.Low viscous fluids with suitable physicochemical pr.per.ies ar. pr.duced.The mater.als ar. non-toxic,biodegr.dable,and cost-effective.Thus,they can be used to develop sustainable solvents for.var.ous pr.cesses and can find their.applications in var.ous fields.A theor.tical study based on quantum chemistr. and classical molecular.dynamics is used for.the nanoscopic char.cter.zation of str.ctur.,dynamics,and hydr.gen bonding.The r.por.ed r.sults help analyze the pr.per.ies of this new family of solvents.The r.quir.d infor.ation for.developing str.ctur.–pr.per.y r.lationships for.pr.per.solvent design to for. a sustainable chemistr. fr.mewor. is obtained.

State Contr.l inspections it is ar.ued that in addition to the pr.vailing indicator. of flag State per.or.ance deeper.insights ar. to be gained by explor.ng indicator. in other.ar.as such as findings of IMO member.State audits.This paper.pr.poses simple and intuitive indicator. in conjunction with existing indicator. to identify tr.nds in flag State per.or.ance and explor.s application of the indicator. to a select set of member.States in Latin-Amer.ca r.gion.The paper.concludes that the pr.posed indicator. have the potential for.global application.
