The 2024 aluminum alloy is used extensively in the aircraft and aerospace industries because of its excellent mechanical ***,the weldability of 2024 aluminum alloy is generally low because it contains a high number of solutes,such as copper(Cu),magnesium(mg),and manganese(mn),causing solidification *** high speed welding of 2024 aluminum alloy without the use of filler is achieved,the applicability of 2024 aluminum alloys will *** refining is one of the methods used to prevent solidification cracking in weld metal,although it has never been achieved for high-speed laser welding of 2024 aluminum alloy without ***,we propose a short-pulsed,laser-induced,grain-refining method during continuous wave laser welding without ***-on-plate welding was performed on a 2024-T3 aluminum alloy at a welding speed of 1 m min−1 with a single mode fiber laser at a wavelength of 1070 nm and power of 1 *** in and around the molten pool were irradiated with nanosecond laser pulses at a wavelength of 1064 nm,pulse width of 10 ns,and pulse energy of 430 *** grain-refinement effect was confirmed when laser pulses were irradiated on the molten *** grain-refinement region was formed in a semicircular shape along the solid–liquid *** of the vertical section indicate that the grain-refinement region reached a depth of 1 mm along the solid–liquid *** Vickers hardness test results demonstrated that the hardness increased as a result of grain refinement and that the progress of solidification cracking was suppressed in the grain refinement region.

We performed a controlled synthesis of magnetic carbon nanoparticles （m-CNPs） via co-pyrolysis of glycerol and ferrocene with magnetic induction. The morphology of the synthesized m-CNPs was confirmed by transmission electron microscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis was used to analyze the carbon and Fe contents. m-CNPs that responded to magnetic stimulation were also examined with an AC-magnetic susceptibility analyzer. Our investigations on the influence of synthesis temperature in the range 700-1000℃ suggested that for an initial glycerol to ferrocene weight ratio of 3：1 and a temperature of 800 ℃ gave the highest yield of m-CNPs. Comparing the synthesis with and without magnetic induction, the controlled synthesis under the influence of magnetic induction shows promise as a method for producing high quality m-CNPs in high yields.

Recently,the demand for comprehension of mixed traffic in developing countries,particularly at roundabouts,which are highly interactive road junctions,has ***,we analyzed mixed traffic at roundabouts,considering Vietnam as a case *** two main objectives of this study were to characterize the mixed traffic in Vietnam and to determine the microscopic characteristics of motorcycles at ***,efforts were made to clarify the two constitutions of mixed traffic(the performance rule and the presence of small-sized vehicles),and the term“motorcycle-oriented mixed traffic”was *** when satisfying the two fundamental constitutions,this traffic state has unique features,e.g.,only one type of non-lane-based vehicle(the motorcycle)and the predominance of motorcycles in the traffic composition(91.7%).Second,four microscopic characteristics of motorcycles were obtained from a large dataset:the motorcycles’continuous changes in speed,the relationship between the turning angle rate and the speed,the critical gap,and the following *** relationship between the turning angle rate and the speed was first formulated as a power *** critical gap of motorcycles was estimated as a small value(1.25 s)in the case *** following spaces varied with respect to the speed and had an oval *** smallest lateral and longitudinal dimensions were 1.5 and 1.74 m,*** all the findings are meaningful,they are restricted to the case study(Ho Chi minh City,Vietnam).

Objective: To isolate and identify the antifungal compounds from Curcuma amada. methods: The antifungal activity was measured by the diameter of colonies grown on Petri dish,microscopic observation,and CLSI microdilution methods. The antifungal compounds were isolated through bioactivity guided purification by using silica gel and high-performance liquid chromatography. Structural identification of the antifungal compounds was conducted using 1 H NmR,13 C NmR,and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Results: The purified antifungal compounds were zederone and furanodienone. These two compounds showed dose-dependent antifungal activity against Fusarium solani sensu lato. The concentration required for 50% growth inhibition(IC50) of FSSL ranged from 115 to 129 μm and 82 to 91 μm for zederone and furanodienone,respectively. Conclusion: This study suggested that the isolated compounds from Curcuma amada could be promising natural antifungal agents to control the diseases caused by Fusarium solani sensu lato.

Changes in choroidal thickness in healthy pediatric individuals: a longitudinal study

AIm： To investigate the changes in the choroidal thickness in healthy pediatric children in a longitudinal study, and to determine the ocular and systemic parameters that were significantly correlated with the changes in the choroidal thickness. mETHODS： This study included 64 eyes of 34 healthy Japanese children with a mean age（±SD） of 4.4（±0.4）y（range, 3.6-5.8 y） at baseline. Swept-source optical coherence tomography（SS-OCT） was used to record images of the retina and choroid at the baseline and after a mean followup period of about 1.5 y. The 3 D raster scan protocol was used to construct the choroidal thickness map. mean choroidal thickness was calculated for each of the nine sectors of the Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study grid. Best-corrected visual acuity, axial length, body height, and weight were also measured. Changes in measurements were defined as the baseline values subtracted from the values at the final visit. A generalized estimating equation was used to eliminate the effect of within-subject intereye correlations. RESULTS： The mean central choroidal thickness was significantly reduced during the follow-up period（baseline, 301.8±8.6 μm; final visit, 286.6±8.0 μm, P〈0.001）. The decrease in the choroidal thickness was greatest in the central sector, followed by the sectors of the inner and outer rings. The inner and outer rings had diameters of 1 to 3 mm and 3 to 6 mm, respectively. The changes in the choroidal thickness in the central, inner ring, and outer ring sectors were significantly and negatively correlated with the age, baseline body height, baseline body weight, and elongation of the axial length. CONCLUSION： These results indicate that the choroidal thickness among preschool-aged Japanese children decreased significantly during the follow-up period. Estimates for Carbon Stocks in Soil under Humid Grassland Areas in the Federal District of Brazil

The soils that lay below humid ecosystems are characterized as being significant holders of carbon. Because of the great susceptibility of this type of environment to anthropic changes, expressive quantities of carbon stored in the soil can be released into the atmosphere. In the Cerrado biome (Brazil), only a few types of vegetation have had carbon storage levels in their soil estimated. The main purpose of this study was to obtain basic quantitative parameters for carbon storage and to identify the general aspects of soil in regions where there exists Humid Grasslands (Campo Limpo úmido), a kind of humid area phytophysiognomy found in the Cerrado. We selected 6 regions of the Federal District with this kind of vegetation formation, characterized by low anthropic impact and located either in the interior or in the proximity of specially protected areas. In each one of the sampled regions, we marked a transect with 4 equidistant points and collected material at 7 different levels of depth: 0 - 5, 5 - 10, 10 - 20, 20 - 30, 30 - 40, 40 - 50 and 50 - 60 cm. We obtained 168 samples, with 84 related to Humid Grassland areas in gleysols and 84 samples related to areas in plinthosols—types of soil dominant in this environment. We determined the texture, bulk density and concentration of nitrogen and carbon at each depth. The average concentration of carbon for Humid Grassland areas was 55.19 ***-1, with an average of 61.65 ***-1 for Gleysols and 48.73 ***-1 for Plinthosols. The soil samples displayed distinct textural differences between gleysols and plinthosols. There were no significant differences in soil density (0.75 ***-3 for Gleysols and 0.72 ***-3 for Plinthosols). The average concentration of nitrogen was 20.66 ***-1, with 23.98 ***-1 for Gleysols and 17.34 ***-1 for Plinthosols. The average carbon storage for Humid Grassland areas, down to 60 cm deep, was 244.17 mg C ha-1 and the total estimated stock for these areas in the Federal District was 206.71 G
