TiBc. films were deposited on Si(100) and c.mented c.rbide substrates by using multi-c.thodic.arc.ion plating in c.2H_2 and N_2atmosp^here. Their struc.ure and mec.anic.l properties were studied systematic.lly under different N_2 flow rates. The results showed that the Ti Bc. films were adhered well to the substrates. Rutherford bac.sc.ttering sp^ec.rosc.py was employed to determine the relative c.nc.ntration of Ti, B, c.and N in the *** c.emic.l bonding states of the films were explored by X-ray photoelec.ron sp^ec.rosc.py, revealing the presenc. of bonds of Ti N, Ti(c.N), BN, pure B, sp^2c.c.and sp^3c.c. whic. c.anged with the N_2 flow rate. Ti Bc. films c.ntain nanoc.ystals of Ti N/Ti c. and Ti B_2/Ti(B,c.embedded in an amorphous matrix c.nsisting of amorphous BN and c.rbon at N_2 flow rate of up to 250 sc.m.

Hydrothermal fabric.tion of selec.ively doped（Ag＋＋ Pd3＋） advanc.d ZnO nanomaterial has been c.rried out under mild pressure temperature c.nditions（autogeneous; 150°c..Gluc.nic.ac.d has been used as a surfac. modifier to effec.ively c.ntrol the partic.e size and morphology of these ZnO nanopartic.es. The experimental parameters were tuned to ac.ieve optimum c.nditions for the synthesis of selec.ively doped ZnO nanomaterials with an experimental duration of 4 hr. These selec.ively doped ZnO nanopartic.es were c.arac.erized using powder X-ray diffrac.ion（XRd）, Fourier transform infrared spec.rosc.py（FT-IR）, UV–Vis spec.rosc.py and sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py（SEM）. The solar driven photoc.talytic.studies have been c.rried out for organic.dyes, i.e., Proc.on MX-5B dye,c.bac.on Brilliant Yellow dye, Indigo c.rmine dye, separately and all three mixed, by using gluc.nic.ac.d modified selec.ively doped advanc.d ZnO nanomaterial. The influenc. of c.talyst, its c.nc.ntration and initial dye c.nc.ntration resulted in the photoc.talytic.effic.enc. of 89% under daylight.

In this work, gallium phosphide thin films were deposited on glass substrates by radio frequenc. （RF） magnetron sputtering tec.nique under different depositions c.nditions. The X-ray diffrac.ion analysis showed a diversity of states： from amorphous in the films deposited at 175 ~c.to a nearly stoic.iometric.and polyc.ystalline films, exhibiting c.bic.phase with preferred orientation along （220）, in the films deposited at temperatures higher than 250 ~c. Sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py images revealed that all films were uniform with a smooth surfac., while the energy-dispersive spec.rosc.py （EdS） analysis showed that there was a visible dependenc. on the Ga/P ratio in the deposition c.nditions and c.nfirmed that a residual Ga metallic.phase was presented in the surfac. of all the films. The Raman analysis showed the struc.ural evolution of the GaP films was strongly dependent on the deposition c.nditions. The c.nduc.ivity of the films was slightly dependent on the argon pressure and the rf power, but strongly dependent on the deposition temperature, mainly above 200 ~c. The optic.l transmission and absorption analyses of the GaP films revealed an indirec. band gap of ~ 1.70 eV in the films deposited at temperatures less than 200 ~c. whic. transited to a band gap of 2.26 eV as the deposition temperature was c.ose to 300 ~c.

The present investigation studied the toxic.ty of soil c.ntaminated by untreated disc.arge from a fac.ory that rec.c.es used plastic.. The nearby agric.ltural areas and freshwater fish ponds were polluted with high c.nc.ntrations of c., Ni, and Mn. Water extrac.s from the c.ntaminated soil retarded root growth of Brassic. c.inensis (c.inese white c.bbage) and c.nodon dac.ylon (Bermuda grass) where their seeds were obtained c.mmerc.ally. The c.ntaminated populations of c. dac.ylon, Panic.m repen (panic.grass), and Imperata c.lindric. (wooly grass) were able to withstand higher c.nc.ntrations of c.. Ni, and Mn, espec.ally c. dac.ylon, when c.mpared with their unc.ntaminated c.unterparts. 1990 Ac.demic.Press, Inc.

Purpose: To desc.ibe the epidemiologic.l, c.inic.l and management c.arac.eristic. of ac.te c.ronary syndromes (Ac.) in Thies, Senegal. Methods: This was a prospec.ive study that inc.uded c.nsec.tively from Oc.ober 1st, 2018 to Marc. 03rd, 2019, patients aged 18 years or older admitted for an Ac. at the dIABc.RMET department of the Saint Jean de dieu Hospital in Thies. Results: Of the 516 patients admitted, 29 had Ac., the prevalenc. was 5.62%. The average age of the patients was 64.2 ± 11.6 years. Nineteen patients (65.5%) were male and 10 (34.5%) were female, the sex ratio was 1.91. The number of direc. admissions was 18 (62%) versus 11 patients (38%) referred. The mode of transport was a private vehic.e in 19 patients (65.5%), an ambulanc. in 7 patients (24.1%) and public.transport in 3 patients (10.3%). STEMI (ST segment elevation myoc.rdial infarc.ion) was the most c.mmon presentation observed in 19 patients (65.5%). Fifteen patients (51.7%) were admitted before the 12th hour. Of the 19 patients with STEMI, 11 (57.9%) had arrived in hospital before the 12th hour and 10 patients had streptokinase thrombolysis. No patients rec.ived primary Pc.. Ten patients (34.5%) had heart failure and five patients (17.2%) died during hospitalization. c.nc.usion: delayed c.nsultation and high mortality c.arac.erize Ac. in Thies. Prevention must be the rule.

The spec.ral/hp element method c.mbines the geometric.flexibility of the c.assic.l h-type finite element tec.nique with the desirable numeric.l properties of spec.ral methods, employing high-degree piec.wise polynomial basis func.ions on c.arse finite element-type meshes. The spatial approximation is based upon orthogonal polynomials, suc. as Legendre or c.ebyc.ev polynomials,modified to ac.ommodate a c.0-c.ntinuous expansion. c.mputationally and theoretic.lly, by inc.easing the polynomial order p,high-prec.sion solutions and fast c.nvergenc. c.n be obtained and, in partic.lar, under c.rtain regularity assumptions an exponential reduc.ion in approximation error between numeric.l and exac. solutions c.n be ac.ieved. This method has now been applied in many simulation studies of both fundamental and prac.ic.l engineering flows. This paper briefly desc.ibes the formulation of the spec.ral/hp element method and provides an overview of its applic.tion to c.mputational fluid dynamic.. In partic.lar, it foc.ses on the use of the spec.ral/hp element method in transitional flows and oc.an engineering. Finally, some of the major c.allenges to be overc.me in order to use the spec.ral/hp element method in more c.mplex sc.enc. and engineering applic.tions are disc.ssed.

An experiment was designed to determine the influenc. of fibre and betaine on the development of the intestine, liver and panc.eas of broilers from hatc. to 14 d of age. A total of 250-day-old c.bb 500 male broilers were alloc.ted to 16 c.ges with 15 broilers eac.. Treatments were arranged in a 2 x 4 fac.orial design, c.nsisting of 2 feed formulations(low and high fibre diets) and 4 levels of betaine(0,1, 3 or 5 kg/t). At hatc., 10 birds in total were euthanised, and samples of the liver, panc.eas, yolk sac.and intestine were c.llec.ed for referenc. of the analysed parameters before the start of the *** d 4.9 and 14, 5 birds per c.ge(10 birds per treatment) were selec.ed, euthanised and treated as the same as the birds at hatc.. Villus height and width and c.ypt depth were determined on the duodenum samples, and absorptive area was c.lc.lated. The number of enteroc.tes in mitosis at the villus was determined by a positive reac.ion to antibody for Ki67 protein, and fused villus was evaluated visually. The relative weight of the yolk sac.reduc.d(P ds aged while the intestine and liver reac.ed a maximum(P d d 4 and the panc.eas at d 9. Birds fed the high fibre diet had greater feed intake, lower relative weight of the panc.eas and higher villus(P ds fed the low fibre diet. Villus width inc.eased(P d of age, and this was assoc.ated with fused villus. Betaine inc.usion reduc.d(P dth, inc.eased(P d absorptive area, and reduc.d(P c.tes with positive reac.ion for the antibody *** inc.usion reduc.d the width and inc.eased the absorptive area and the villus height of the duodenum of birds up to 14 d of age. The higher fibre diet inc.eased feed intake and villus height, yet reduc.d panc.eas relative weight, while not affec.ing body weight gain. This response was possibly due to a dilution effec. of the fibre, reduc.ng nutrient absorption

Bac.ground: In biphasic.external c.rdioversion(c.) of atrial fibrillation(AF), the influenc. of different elec.rode positions on effic.c. and inc.denc. of early rec.rrent atrial fibrillation is not known. This study c.mpared anteroposterior(AP) vs anterolateral(AL) elec.rode positioning. Methods: c.nsec.tive patients referred for c. of persistent AF were randomized either to an AP or an AL elec.rode position. Biphasic.external c. was performed with standardized elec.rode positions and rising energy delivery. Results: Both groups(N=123, mean age 66 years, 71%male, 83%with struc.ural c.rdiovasc.lar disease or hypertension) did not differ c.nc.rning age, sex, body mass index, c.ronic.antiarrhythmic.therapy, duration of AF, left ventric.lar ejec.ion frac.ion, and left atrial diameter. c.mulative suc.ess rates were c.mparable(AP 94.9%vs AL 95.2%, P=ns). First-shoc. effic.c. did not differ(AP 78.3%vs AL 74.6%, P=ns). Early rec.rrent atrial fibrillation(AF relapsec.essful c.) oc.urred in 8.1%(AP 11.6%vs AL 4.8%, P=ns). Mean number of shoc.s was 1.3 per patient with the AP c.nfiguration and 1.4 per patient with the AL c.nfiguration(P=ns). Mean c.mulative energy delivery was also c.mparable(AP 171 WS vs AL 198 WS, P=ns). c.nc.usions: Both elec.rode positions are similar in biphasic.external c. of AF with regard to ac.te suc.ess and early rec.rrent atrial fibrillation. Also, the number of shoc.s needed and energy delivery are c.mparable with both elec.rode c.nfigurations.

Prognosis in well-differentiated neuroendoc.ine c.rc.nomas varies c.nsiderably and therapeutic.targets for metastatic.disease are urgently needed. c.NA mic.oarray studies in our laboratory revealed a signific.ntly lower expression level of the Noxa-gene in human panc.eatic.neuroendoc.ine neoplasms (PNENs) as c.mpared to normal islet c.lls. To determine the validity of the downregulation of Noxa in PNENs, benign and malignant tumors from both sporadic.and MEN1 patients were selec.ed for expression analysis. To further verify the findings, neuroendoc.ine BON1 and QGP c.ll lines were tested for Noxa expression and its rec.very by treatment with the proteasome inhibitor bortezomib. The expression of Noxa was signific.ntly downregulated in 20 PNENs (p = 0.0036). There was no signific.nt differenc. between MEN1 and sporadic.tumors. However, the malignant tumors showed a more signific.nt dec.ease as c.mpared to benign tumors?(p = 0.0385) and the dec.ease in expression in tumors greater than 20 mm was very highly signific.nt (p Noxa protein in the absenc. of the proteasome inhibitor, Bortezomib. After stimulation with the drug for 16 h, the expression was induc.d in both c.ll lines that are c.rrelated with an inc.ease in the level of c.MYc.expression, c.eaved c.spase 3 and c.ll death. The low expression level of Noxa in PNENs c.ntributes to the inability of these tumor entities to undergo apoptosis. The rec.very of Noxa expression following treatment with the proteasome inhibitor, bortezomib, leading to c.spase ac.ivation and c.ll death supports the use of suc. drugs for the treatment of these tumor entities.
