为了解海水升温对入侵种真江蓠可培养附生细菌群落的影响,运用德国基尔Helmhotlz海洋研究中心的Benthocosm系统和传统的微生物培养方法,分离、鉴定了23和26℃条件下入侵种真江蓠表面的附生细菌,通过分析16S rRNA基因同源性来进行分离菌株的鉴定,并通过侵染实验筛选出保护性细菌和条件致病菌。本研究共分离、纯化79株细菌,其中鉴定出的菌种有粪肠球菌(Enterococcus faecalis)、墨西哥微小杆菌(Exiguobacterium mexicanum)、Mammaliicoccus sciuri、溶藻弧菌(Vibrio alginolyticus)、新喀里多尼亚弧菌(Vibrio neocaledonicus)和相模原弧菌(Vibrio sagamiensis),隶属于厚壁菌门和变形菌门。侵染实验结果显示,相模原弧菌是保护性细菌,粪肠球菌、溶藻弧菌和新喀里多尼亚弧菌是条件致病菌。本研究丰富了入侵海藻真江蓠表面附生细菌的知识体系,同时,筛选的保护性菌株为防控真江蓠白化病的爆发提供技术支撑。

骨关节炎(osteoarthritis,OA)是常见的关节疾病。目前还没有能够同时防止关节退化和减少疼痛的治疗方法。有证据表明软骨细胞中存在电压门控钠通道(voltage gated sodium channels,VGSCs),但它们在软骨细胞和OA中的表达和功能仍不清楚。该研究发现,Nav1.7作为一个与OA相关的VGSCs,人OA软骨细胞以0.1~0.15个/μm2和350~525个通道/细胞的密度表达功能性Nav1.7。在通过基因操作抑制Nav1.7的一系列小鼠模型上发现,表达在背根神经节(dorsal root ganglion,dRG)神经元中的Nav1.7参与疼痛的调控,而表达在软骨细胞中的Nav1.7调节OA进程。使用选择性或临床常用的泛Nav通道阻断剂,可显著改善结构性关节损伤,并减轻OA疼痛。Nav1.7阻断剂调节细胞内Ca2+信号和软骨细胞的分泌组,进而影响软骨细胞生物学和OA进程。该研究证实,Nav1.7为一个新发现的、在软骨细胞表达的OA相关VGSCs,可作为具有双重靶点特性的用于治疗OA和镇痛的非阿片类镇痛药。

Time-Series Embeddings from Language Models:A Tool for Wind direction Nowcasting

Wind direction nowcasting is crucial in various sectors,particularly for ensuring aviation operations and *** this context,the TELMo(Time-series Embeddings from Language Models)model,a sophisticated deep learning architecture,has been introduced in this work for enhanced wind-direction *** by using three years of data from multiple stations in the complex terrain of an international airport,TELMo incorporates the horizontal u(east-west)and v(north-south)wind components to significantly reduce forecasting *** a day with high wind direction variability,TELMo achieved mean absolute error values of 5.66 for 2-min,10.59 for 10-min,and 14.79 for 20-min forecasts,processed within a swift 9-ms/step *** degree-based analysis,in comparison,yielded lower performance,emphasizing the effectiveness of the u and v *** contrast,a Vanilla neural network,representing a shallow-learning approach,underperformed in all analyses,highlighting the superiority of deep learning methodologies in wind direction *** is an efficient model,capable of accurately forecasting wind direction for air traffic operations,with an error less than 20°in 97.49%of the predictions,aligning with recommended international *** model design enables its applicability across various geographical locations,making it a versatile tool in global aviation meteorology.

The Mesoproterozoic(1.11 Ga)Umkondo large igneous province(LIP)in southern Africa and Antarctica was emplaced ind is dominated by low-Ti tholeiitic doleritic-gabbroic *** is of particular interest because it is the least studied LIP in southern Africa with both sublithospheric and lithospheric mantle sources proposed and it coincides with the early assembly of Rodinia,so it has importance in understanding the nature of magmatism and tectonics in and around the Kalahari craton during the *** this study,we compiled a large database of existing(~750)and new(~100)major and trace element data for the Umkondo province,as well as 42 new Sr-Nd isotopic measurements,to provide constraints on its magma sources and geochemical *** element compositional variations in the low-Ti tholeiites are explained by low-pressure(1 kbar)three-phase fractional crystallisation(olivine,clinopyroxene and plagioclase)of a parent magma with~10 wt.%MgO in oxidising conditions(QFM+1).Inverse models show that the low-Ti tholeiitic magmas were derived as residual melts after the crystallization of 12%-33%olivine from primary komatiitic-basaltic magmas(up to~20 wt.%MgO)in equilibrium with mantle olivine(Fo90).Low Sm/Yb and TiO2/Yb-Nb/Yb indicate that the primary magmas were derived by 2%-20%shallow(40-50 km)partial melting of spinel *** Sm/Yb is restricted to dyke swarms and may imply limited magma production from deeper(up to~70 km)garnet lherzolite-like *** low-Ti tholeiites of the Umkondo province are enriched in large ion lithophile elements(Rb-Sr-Cs-K)and depleted in high-field strength elements(Zr-Hf-Nb-Ta),indicating the involvement of crustal material and/or the subcontinental lithospheric *** is supported by covariations in Th/Nb,Nb/Yb,Nb/La and Ce/Sm with generally negativeΔ***-Nd isotopes lend support to the notion that the Umkondo magmas were derived from depleted and/or enriched sublithospheric mantle sources and subs

Advancements in Catalysts for Electrochemical Nitrate Reduction: A Sustainable Approach for Mitigating Nitrate Pollution: A Review

Nitrate pollution is of great importance in both the environmental and health contexts, necessitating the development of efficient mitigation strategies. This review provides a comprehensive analysis of the many catalysts employed in the electrochemical reduction of nitrate to ammonia, and presents a viable environmentally friendly approach to address the issue of nitrate pollution. Hence, the electrochemical transformation of nitrate to ammonia serves the dual purpose of addressing nitrate pollution in water bodies, and is a useful agricultural resource. This review examines a range of catalyst materials such as noble and non-noble metals, metal oxides, carbon-based materials, nitrogen-doped carbon species, metal complexes, and semiconductor photocatalysts. It evaluates catalytic efficiency, selectivity, stability, and overall process optimization. The performance of catalysts is influenced by various factors, including reaction conditions, catalyst structure, loading techniques, and electrode interfaces. Comparative analysis was performed to evaluate the catalytic activity, selectivity, Faradaic efficiency, current density, stability, and durability of the catalysts. This assessment offers significant perspectives on the structural, compositional, and electrochemical characteristics that affect the efficacy of these catalysts, thus informing future investigations and advancements in this domain. In addition to mitigating nitrate pollution, the electrochemical reduction of nitrate to ammonia is in line with sustainable agricultural methods, resource conservation, and the utilization of renewable energy resources. This study explores the factors that affect the catalytic efficiency, provides new opportunities to address nitrate pollution, and promotes the development of sustainable environmental solutions.

Obstetric References in disadvantaged Environments: Case of References to the University Hospital Center of Kara, in Northern Togo

Introduction: References are frequent and most often carried out in emergency situations. The objective of this study was to describe the epidemiological and clinical profile of obstetric referrals to the CHU-Kara. Methodology: This was a retrospective cross-sectional descriptive study conducted from September 1, 2022, to February 28, 2023, at CHU-Kara, focusing on obstetric referrals to the Gynecology-Obstetrics department. Result: 828 patients were referred for obstetric reasons out of 1295 admissions, representing a frequency of 63.9%. The average age was 25.04 years. They were primigravida (38.3%), unemployed (62.7%). Motorcycles were the main means of transportation, accounting for 53.1% of cases. The average distance to reach the referral center was 31.6 km, covered in an average of 71 minutes. In 40.7% of cases, patients had less than 4 prenatal consultations and were referred in peripartum (56.6%) for pre-eclampsia (14%), post-term pregnancy (11.8%), dystocia (10.5%). Eighty-six point nine percent (86.9%) of the referred patients were able to deliver during their stay in the department, of which 61.7% had vaginal deliveries. The maternal and perinatal mortality rates were 0.7% and 14.9%, respectively. Conclusion: Obstetric referrals to Kara University Hospital are frequent during the perpartum period and are often carried out by motorbike.

In recent decades, climate warming has led to an increase in atmospheric water demand, a potential reduction in soil moisture and a rise in the frequency and intensity of droughts. This has intensified the effects of water stress on plants, leading to more vegetated areas experiencing water stress [1,2]. Soil moisture (SM)and vapor pressure deficit (VPd) are considered the two main factors that exert water stress on vegetation activity and terrestrial productivity, thereby affecting the global carbon cycle [3].
