This study used a Polyindole in combination with TiO2 nanocatalyst as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst to carry out a multi-component Hantzsch reaction involving different aromatic aldehydes with methyl acetoacetate, and aqueous ammonium to create 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives under solvent free condition at ambient temperature. A broad range of aldehydes and methyl acetoacetates, ranging from heteroaromatic to polyaromatic one, with high level of functional group tolerance can be used to provide the desired products possessing relevant medicinal moiety in high yields. This technology has prospective advantages over current protocols, including the utilization of a cheap, stable, recyclable, and safe catalyst, quicker reaction times with higher yields and simple product isolation.

An AI-empowered indoor digital contact-tracing system was developed using a centralized architecture and advanced low-energy Bluetooth technologies for indoor positioning,with careful preservation of privacy and data *** analyzed the contact pattern data from two RCHs and investigated a COVID-19 outbreak in one study *** evaluate the effectiveness of the system in containing outbreaks with minimal contacts under quarantine,a simulation study was conducted to compare the impact of different quarantine strategies on outbreak containment within *** significant difference in contact hours between weekdays and weekends was observed for some pairs of RCH residents and staff during the two-week data collection *** significant difference between secondary cases and uninfected contacts was observed in a COVID-19 outbreak in terms of their demographics and contact *** results based on the collected contact data indicated that a threshold of accumulative contact hours one or two days prior to diagnosis of the index case could dramatically increase the efficiency of outbreak containment within RCHs by targeted isolation of the close *** study demonstrated the feasibility and efficiency of employing an AI-empowered system in indoor digital contact tracing of outbreaks in RCHs in the post-pandemic era.

Recent studies on high-multiplicity events in small collision systems(proton-proton and proton-lead)have drawn considerable research interest toward the possibility of the formation of partonic medium in such *** of the important consequences of the formation of dense partonic medium is the quenching of high-momentum final-state particles,resulting in several experimental observations such as suppression in nuclear modification factor RAA,modification of jet shape observableρ(r)and jet fragmentation(z^(ch))distributions,*** this work,we studyρ(r)and z^(ch)for inclusive charged-particle jets in proton-proton(pp)collisions at√s=13 TeV using the PYTHIA 8 Monash 2013 Monte Carlo *** show that the color reconnection(CR)and multiparton interaction(MPI)mechanisms in PYTHIA 8 can lead to an increased rate of jet *** also find that the mechanisms of MPI and CR and change in the gluonic contribution in high-multiplicity events result in significant modification ofρ(r)and z^(ch)compared to those in minimum bias events for 10and gluonic contribution with the amount of modification inρ(r):the larger the number of MPIs and/or gluonic contribution,the larger the amount of modification ofρ(r).

A novel bioresin, epoxidized soybean oil was synthesized by in situ method and was characterized employing FTIR and NMR. The bioresin was blended with epoxy（DGEBA） at different ratios as reactive diluents for improved processibility and toughened nature. The composition with 20 wt% bioresin exhibited improved impact strength to the tune of 60% as compared to virgin epoxy. Fracture toughness parameters critical stress intensity factor（kIC） and critical strain energy release rate（GIC） were evaluated using single edge notch bending test and demonstrated superior enhancement in toughness. Dynamic mechanical, thermal, thermo mechanical and fracture morphological analyses have been studied for bio-based epoxy blends. Curing kinetics has been evaluated through DSC analysis to investigate the effect of bioresin on cross-linking reaction of neat epoxy with triethylenetetramine as curing agent.

Pervasive wireless computing and communication have created an ever-increasing demand for more radio spectrum. Since, most of the spectrum is underutilized, it motivated the introduction of the concept of cognitive radios, a dynamic spectrum access enabling technology. The first stage of cognitive radio is to sense the environment and determine which parts of the spectrum are available. This is achieved through spectrum sensing. However, spectrum sensing poses the most fundamental challenge in cognitive radios. Moreover, cognitive radios suffer from many vulnerabilities and the security attacks can severely degrade the performance of cognitive radios. This paper surveys state-of-theart research on spectrum sensing and security threats in cognitive radios. Lastly, we also consider the analysis of issues related to spectrum handoffs in cognitive radios.

GIS-based assessment of non-equilibrium pattern between groundwater recharge and irrigation draft in a semi-arid region of Rajasthan, India

Over-exploitation of groundwater for irrigation can result in drastic reduction in groundwater level in Jodhpur district of western Rajasthan, India. In this study, we used the long-term trend analysis of seasonal groundwater level data to predict the future groundwater scenario in 33 villages of Jodhpur district, assessed the impact of water harvesting structures on groundwater recharge and explored the non-equilibrium between groundwater recharge and irrigation draft in the study area. Analysis of groundwater level data from 26 observation wells in 33 villages in the pre-monsoon period showed that groundwater level decreased continuously at the rate of 2.07 m/a. With this declining rate, most of the tube wells （including the well with the maximum depth of 193 m） are predicted to become completely dry by 2050. Behavior of temporal groundwater level data in the study period （from 2004 to 2012） can be explained by different geospatial maps, prepared using ArcGIS software. Statistical analysis of the interpolated maps showed that the area with the maximum positive groundwater recharge occupied 63.14% of the total area during 2010-2011 and the area with the maximum irrigation draft accounted for 56.21% of the total area during 2011-2012. Higher groundwater recharge is attributed to the increase in rainfall and the better aquifer condition. Spatial distribution for the changes of average groundwater recharge and draft （2008-2009 and 2011-2012） showed that 68.50% recharge area was in positive change and 45.75% draft area was in negative change. It was observed that the area of the irrigation draft exceeded that of the groundwater recharge in most of the years. In spite of the construction of several shallow water harvesting structures in 2009-2010, sandstone aquifer zones showed meager impact on groundwater recharge. The three-dimensional numerical investigation of an incompressible flow through rib roughened solar air heater is carried out.A combination of thin transverse and truncated ribs is attached on the absorber plate to study its effect on the heat transfer and friction *** parameters in the form of Reynolds number(Re)of 4000-16000,relative roughness pitch(P/e)of 8-18 and relative roughness height(e/Dh)of 0.0366-0.055 is considered for the *** CFD code ANSYS FLUENT is used to solve the governing equations of turbulent *** RNG k-εturbulence model is used to solve the transport equations with enhanced wall treatment,keeping the Y+<*** maximum enhancement ratio of the Nusselt number and friction factor obtained is 1.91 and 3.61 *** detailed investigation on average heat transfer,friction factor and flow structures have been discussed.
