Polysiloxane coatings on yttria stabilized zirconia(YSZ)microspheres of 500μm were simulated in a spout fluidized bed coater using Multiphase Flow with Interface Exchange-Discrete Element Modelling(MFiX-DEM).Two different coater configurations were developed to study the influence of gas velocity and its distribution on particle *** presence of the Wurster tube not only enhances the dis-tribution but also increases the overall residence time of the *** were also carried out with different Wurster tube positions(normal,10%and 20%lowered from its initial position).Among these,20%lowered Wurster tube position demonstrated the most effective coating *** effects of gas inlet pressure on the average gas velocity and the distribution of particles were *** than 97%of the particles can be *** derived results,including average gas velocity,particle retention percentage,and distribution of particles with gas velocity,are being used to guide the experimental work in obtaining defect-free coatings for YSZ microspheres.

Over-exploitation of groundwater for irrigation can result in drastic reduction in groundwater level in Jodhpur district of western Rajasthan, India. In this study, we used the long-term trend analysis of seasonal groundwater level data to predict the future groundwater scenario in 33 villages of Jodhpur district, assessed the impact of water harvesting structures on groundwater recharge and explored the non-equilibrium between groundwater recharge and irrigation draft in the study area. Analysis of groundwater level data from 26 observation wells in 33 villages in the pre-monsoon period showed that groundwater level decreased continuously at the rate of 2.07 m/a. With this declining rate, most of the tube wells （including the well with the maximum depth of 193 m） are predicted to become completely dry by 2050. Behavior of temporal groundwater level data in the study period （from 2004 to 2012） can be explained by different geospatial maps, prepared using ArcGIS software. Statistical analysis of the interpolated maps showed that the area with the maximum positive groundwater recharge occupied 63.14% of the total area during 2010-2011 and the area with the maximum irrigation draft accounted for 56.21% of the total area during 2011-2012. Higher groundwater recharge is attributed to the increase in rainfall and the better aquifer condition. Spatial distribution for the changes of average groundwater recharge and draft （2008-2009 and 2011-2012） showed that 68.50% recharge area was in positive change and 45.75% draft area was in negative change. It was observed that the area of the irrigation draft exceeded that of the groundwater recharge in most of the years. In spite of the construction of several shallow water harvesting structures in 2009-2010, sandstone aquifer zones showed meager impact on groundwater recharge. In recent major earthquakes, the researchers have found the need for consideration of vertical seismic acceleration for the stability analysis of the man-made and natural slopes. However, in most past studies, the performance of slopes has been assessed by accounting only the horizontal seismic component of the ground motion, without giving due weightage to the effect of vertical component. In the present study, analytical expressions are derived to determine the factor of safety, yield seismic coefficient and consequently the seismic displacement of cohesionless soil slope under combined horizontal and vertical components of the ground motion. The derivation uses the Newmark's sliding block approach, in which the soil slope with a planar failure surface within the framework of conventional pseudo-static analysis is assumed to follow the Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion. The effects of vertical seismic coefficient on the stability of cohesionless slope have been studied through a set of graphical presentations for a specific range of soil parameters. It is observed that overlooking the effect of the vertical component of the ground motion on factor of safety and the displacement while designing the slope may be detrimental, resulting in the slope failure. The general expressions presented in this paper may be highly useful in the field of earthquake geotechnical engineering practice for designing the cohesionless soil slopes under combined horizontal and vertical seismic loads.

PM2.5 and PM2.5 lo concentrations, elemental constituents, and sources in a densely populated coastal industrial area （Trombay, Mumbai） were investigated in 2010 and *** PM2.s and PM2.s lo concentra- tions were 13.50-71.60 and 22.40-127.78 p^g/m3, respectively. The daily PM25 concentrations exceeded the Indian Central Pollution Control Board limit （60 μg/m3） several days in winter. Of the elements analyzed, Si then Al had the highest concentrations in PM2.5- 10, but black carbon then Si had the highest concentrations in PM2.s. The element concentrations varied widely by season. Al, Ca, Fe, Si, and Ti con- centrations were highest in summer, Cl, Mg, and Na concentrations were highest in the monsoon season, and the other trace metal concentrations in both PM2.5 and PM2.5-10 were highest in winter. The PM2.5 and PM2.5-10 sources were apportioned by positive matrix factorization. PM2.5 and PM2.5-10 had six dominant sources, crustal material （8.7% and 25.3%, respectively）, sea salt spray （6.1% and 15.0%, respectively）, coal/biomass combustion （25.5% and 13.8%, respectively）, fuel oil combustion （19.0% and 11.2%, respectively）, road traffic （ 17.7% and 12.6%, respectively）, and the metal industry （ 10.6% and 7.0%, respectively）. Anthropogenic sources clearly contributed most to PM2.5 but natural sources contributed most to PM2.5-10.

AIM： To investigate the prevalence and genotype distribution of Torque teno virus （TTV） in patients with different liver diseases and chronic renal failure treated at a referral hospital in North India. METHODS： Whereas prevalence of TFV was based on amplification of conserved region of ORF2 of TTV genome, the genotyping of TFV was carried out using restriction fragment length polymorphism （RFLP） procedure on the N22 region of ORFI. RESULTS： TTV-DNA was detected in 137 of 513 （26.7%） patients with liver diseases and 38 of 65 （58.5%） patients with chronic renal failure. Trv was also detected in 2/7% of healthy controls. The sequence analysis of the PCR product from 10 randomly selected cases failed to show a significant sequence divergence when compared with that of the TRM1 isolate of TTV genotype 1. The results of genotyping in 55 randomly selected patients showed the presence of genotype 1 （G1） in 53 （96.4%） and genotype 2 （G2） in 2 cases （3.6%）, respectively. Other genotypes were not identified in this patient subgroup, suggesting that G1 is predominant in this area. The results of genotyping by RFLP were also supported by phylogenetic tree analysis, where G1 was found to be the major genotype. CONCLUSION： These results indicate that TTV is moderately present in Indian patients, with G1 to be the major genotype in North India. The pathogenicity and etiological role of TTV in different diseases is still a question mark and warrant further studies.

Shear Strength and Morphological Study of Polyurethane- OMMT Clay Nanocomposite Adhesive Derived from Vegetable Oil-Based Constituents

In the current work,we have synthesized vegetable oil-based polyurethane-OMMT clay nanocomposite(PUNC)adhesive with the incorporation of different wt%of organically modified nanoclay(1 to 5 wt%)into the biobased polyurethane(PU)matrix through in-situ polymerization process via ultrasonication *** the initial stage,PU adhesive was prepared using polyol and partially biobased aliphatic isocyanate,wherein polyol was derived from the transesterified castor oil using ethylene *** formation of PU and PUNC adhesive was confirmed using Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy *** tensile strength of PU with different wt%of nanoclay was determined and the analysis showed that the loading of 3 wt%of nanoclay within the PU matrix showed better performance as compared to the ***,shear strength of PU and PUNC(3 wt%nanoclay)adhesives were determined using lap shear test,in which PUNC adhesive showed higher adhesive strength at 70°***,the dispersibility of OMMT nanoclay within the PU matrix along with exfoliation and amorphous structure was confirmed through wide angle X-ray diffractometer(WAXD)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)*** phase separation structure was analyzed using dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA).The analysis revealed that with the addition of organically modified nanoclay in the PU matrix,the glass transition temperature(Tg)of the damping curve was shifted towards higher temperature.
