This study describes the development of mesostructured TiO2 photo- catalysts modified with PO4^3- to improve its specific surface area and reduce the recombination rate of the electron-hole pairs. The mesoporous photocatalyst was successfully incorporated into a high specific surface area silica matrix by the hydrolysis reaction of tetraethyl orthosilicate （TEOS）. Pluronic 123 and phosphoric acid were used as the directing agent for the structure of the mesoporous TiO2 and as a source of phosphorus, respectively, TiO2, P/TiO2, TiO2-SiO2 and P/TiO2-SiO2 materials were characterized by BET, XRD, TEm-EDS, FTIR and UV-vis DRS measurements. The photoactivity of TiO2-SiO2 nanocomposites containing 15 wt.% photocatalystJsilica was evaluated in the degradation reaction of anionic dyes with UV radiation. The proposed nanomaterials showed high potential for applications in the remediation of wastewater, being able to reuse in several cycles of reaction, maintaining its photoactivity and stability. The separation and recovery time of the material is reduced between cycles since no centrifugation or filtration processes are required after the photooxidation reaction.

Background： The aim of this study was to optimize the fungal treatment of lignocellulosic biomass by stimulating the colonization. Wheat straw and wood chips were treated with ceriporiopsis subvermispora and Lentinula edodes with various amounts of colonized millet grains（0.5, 1.5 or 3.0 % per g of wet weight of substrate） added to the substrates. Also, wheat straw and wood chips were chopped to either 0.5 or 2 *** of the fungal treatment after 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 wk of incubation was determined by changes in chemical composition, in vitro gas production（IVGP） as a measure for rumen degradability, and ergosterol content as a measure of fungal ***： Incomplete colonization was observed for c. subvermispora treated wheat straw and L. edodes treated wood chips. The different particle sizes and amounts of inoculum tested, had no significant effects on the chemical composition and the IVGP of c. subvermispora treated wood chips. Particle size did influence *** treatment of wheat straw. The L. edodes treatment of 2 cm wheat straw resulted in a more selective delignification and a higher IVGP than the smaller particles. Addition of 1.5 % or 3 % L. edodes inoculum to wheat straw resulted in more selective delignification and a higher IVGP than addition of 0.5 % ***： Particle size and amount of inoculum did not have an effect on c. subvermispora treatment of wood chips. At least 1.5 % L. edodes colonized millet grains should be added to 2 cm wheat straw to result in an increased IVGP and acid detergent lignin（ADL） degradation.

Proteomic analyses were done on 2 chemosensory appendages of the lone star tick, Amblyomma americanum. Proteins in the fore tarsi, which contain the olfactory Haller＇s organ, and in the palps, that include gustatory sensilla, were compared with proteins in the third tarsi. Also, male and female ticks were compared. Proteins were identified by sequence similarity to known proteins, and by 3-dimensional homology modeling. Proteomic data were also compared with organ-specific transcriptomes from the tick Rhipicephalus microplus. The fore tarsi express a lipocalin not found in the third tarsi or palps. The fore tarsi and palps abundantly express 2 proteins, which are similar to insect odorant-binding proteins （OBPs）. compared with insect OBPs, the tick OBP-like sequences lacked the cysteine absent in c-minus OBPs, and 1 tick OBP-like sequence had additional cysteines that were similar to c-plus OBPs. Four proteins similar to the antibiotic protein microplusin were found： 2 exclusively expressed in the fore tarsi and 1 exclusively expressed in the palps. These proteins lack the microplusin copper-binding site, but they are modeled to have a significant internal cavity, potentially a ligand-binding site. Proteins similar to the dust mite allergens Der p7 and Der f 7 were found differentially expressed in female fore tarsi. A protein exclusively expressed in the fore tarsi has similarities to Neto, which is known to be involved in clustering ofionotropic glutamate receptors. These results constitute the first report of OBP-like protein sequences in ticks and point to several research avenues on tick chemosensory reception.

Protein phosphorylation is a well-established post-translational mechanism that regulates protein functions and metabolic *** is known that several plant mitochondrial proteins are phosphorylated in a reversible ***,the identities of the protein kinases/phosphatases involved in this mech-anism and their roles in the regulation of the tricarboxylic acid(TcA)cycle remain *** this study,we isolated and characterized plants lacking two mitochondrially targeted phosphatases(Sal2 and PP2c63)along with pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase(PDK),Protein-protein interaction analysis,quantitative phos-phoproteomics,and enzymatic analyses revealed that PDK specifically regulates pyruvate dehydrogenase complex(PDc),while PP2c63 nonspecifically regulates *** recombinant PP2c63 and Sal2 proteins were added to mitochondria isolated from mutant plants,protein-protein interaction and enzymatic analyses showed that PP2c63 directly phosphorylates and modulates the activity of PDc,while Sal2 only indirectly affects TcA cycle *** of steady-state metabolite levels and fluxes in the mutant lines further revealed that these phosphatases regulate flux through the TcA cycle,and that altered metabolism in the sa/2 pp2c63 double mutant compromises plant *** results are discussed in the context of current models of the control of respiration in plants.

AIm:To evaluate the effect of autoclaved diet on the jejunum neurons of the myenteric plexus of rats during their ***:The experimental groups were made up of rats going through weaning whose mothers received either an autoclaved or a non-autoclaved diet during gestation and lactation,and rats that were fed the same diet as their mothers during the post-weaning *** order to measure the neurons'body profile and to quantify the number of neurons per area,preparations were stained by the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide-diaphorase ***:No significant changes were observed in rats'body weight or in the number of neurons regardless of the diet used(P>0.05) .There was a decrease in the jejunum-ileum length in rats treated with an autoclaved diet(Pcrease in the neuronal cross-sectional area was seen in rats that had received the autoclaved diet,an effect that was significant for animals undergoing *** addition,all observed factors showed significant differences when related to the age of the ***:The autoclaved diet did not alter the quantity of neurons,but increased their cell body area,suggesting changes similar to those observed in protein deficiency.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the redox status changes of primary visual targets in the rat brain of a high pressure-induced glaucoma *** animal model consisted of inducing ocular hypertension by cauterizing two episcleral veins on the left *** markers of oxidative damage and the oxidative balance evaluated in the brain seven days postoperative were:nitrites concentration,levels of non-enzymatic antioxidants and antiox-idant enzymes *** increase in the nitrite content,which could be the result of the enhancement in the production of nitrogen species,and in the activity of NADPH oxidase in the glaucoma group could lead to an increase on lipid and protein *** decrease on the non-enzymatic antioxidants and the compensatory increase of the superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities could be a consequence of the increase of oxidative *** decrease in the activity of glutathione reductase leads to a decrease in the recycling of thiol *** suggest that oxidative stress can possibly acts as a risk factor for neurodegeneration in the ***-tic strategies to stop the progression of the disease in glaucoma should also be considered the central neuronal degeneration beyond the retina and the optic nerve.
