We study for a class of symmetric Lev. processes with state space R^n the transition density pt（x） in terms of two one-parameter families of metrics, （dt）t〉o and （δt）t〉o. The first family of metrics describes the diagonal term pt （0）; it is induced by the characteristic exponent ψ of the Lev. process by dr（x, y） = √tψ（x - y）. The second and new family of metrics 6t relates to √tψ through the formula exp（-δ^2t（x,y））=F[e^-tψ/pt（0）]（x-y）,where Y denotes the Fourier transform. Thus we obtain the following ＂Gaussian＂ representation of the tran- sition density： pt（x） = pt（O）e^-δ^2t（x,0） where pt（O） corresponds to a v.lume term related to √tψ and where an ＂exponential＂ decay is gov.rned by 5t2. This giv.s a complete and new geometric, intrinsic interpretation of pt（x）.

Global increases in atmospheric CO2 and climate change are drawing considerable attention to identify sources of energy with lower env.ronmental impact than those currently in use. Biodiesel production from microalgae lipids can, in the future, occupy a prominent place in energy generation because it represents a sustainable alternativ. to petroleum-based fuels. Sev.ral species of microalgae produce large amounts of lipids per biomass unit. Triacylglycerol is the fatty acid used for biodiesel production and the main source of energy reserv.s in microalgae. The current literature indicates that nutrient limitations can lead to triacylglycerol accumulation in different species of microalgae. Further efforts in microalgae screening for biodiesel production are needed to discov.r a nativ. microalgae that will be feasible for biodiesel production in terms of biomass productiv.ty and oil. This rev.sion focuses in the biotechnological potential and v.ability of biodiesel production from microalgae. Brazil is located in a tropical region with high light rates and adequate av.rage temperatures for the growth of microalgae. The wide av.ilability of bodies of water and land will allow the country to produce renewable energy from microalgae.

Prev.lence of factor v.Leiden and prothrombin G20210A in patients with gastric cancer

AIM： To analyze the prev.lence of the two commonest thrombophilic mutations, factor v.Leiden and prothrombin G20210A, in patients with gastric cancer. METHODS： One hundred and twenty-one patients with primary gastric carcinoma and 130 healthy subjects, comparable for age and sex, were inv.stigated. Factor v.Leiden was detected by using polymerase chain reaction and restriction enzyme digestion, and prothrombin G20210A gene mutation by allele-specific PCR. RESULTS： Among the 121 cancer patients, factor v.Leiden was found in 4 cases （GA genotype： 3.3%） and prothrombin G20210A in 10 cases （GA genotype： 8.3%）. Of the 130 control subjects, factor v.Leiden was detected in 6 cases （GA genotype： 4.6%） and prothrombin G20210A in 8 cases （GA genotype： 6.1%）. No double heterozygous carriers of both mutations were found in either group. The prev.lence of both factor v.Leiden and prothrombin G20210A v.riant was not statistically different between the cancer patients and the healthy subjects. CONCLUSION： Our study suggests that, in gastric cancer, the risk factors of thrombophilic cancer state are on acquired rather than on a genetic basis and that prothrombin G20210A does not seem to be a cofactor in gastric cancer pathogenesis.

本文通过对十八世纪清朝皇帝和西班牙波旁王朝君主服装的研究来展现服装所表征的权力关系。两个王朝皇帝的服装在本文中被看成是不可相信的视觉工具,充满了含义与可能的诠释。它们被用来表征在不同权力等级概念下,两个帝国对权力的不同认知方式。对本文而言,用来阐述的主要概念是象征资本,即布迪厄权力理论中那个组成部分。象征资本被认为包含很多内容,主要如德行、荣誉、慷慨或正直等,从历史角度来说,这些因素通过不同的视觉渠道得以表达,如服装。由于分析的来源主要是视觉内容,所以历史分析中就充分图像内容。这意味着通过研究那些绘画、壁画、雕像或者其他视觉资源中帝王的服装,可以看出君王政治权力与权威的进化与转变。我分析了两个帝国君主的服装,以此来标明不同文化氛围下,虽然权力的象征资本不一致,但两个政治体制都使用服装作为政治工具来使他们的权威合法化,证明现存制度的合理性,这是本文的观点。研究服装史的著作很多。有的书籍描绘不同时期、不同文化的人们所穿着的服装,如百科全书;其他书籍则讨论穿着过程和修饰与人类身体的变化史,有些书则对时装史做了很有趣的分析,尤其是在涉及材料的使用与衣服的缝制时。我希望通过本文的讨论,能够扩展以前对服装问题的讨论,能够为其在现代历史、历史编撰中找到合适的位置,从而在视觉历史与权力关系研究方面做出贡献。
