Heart failure symptom burden,dietary intake,and inflammation:An integrative review of the literature

Heart failure(HF)is characterized by high symptom burden including,but not limited to fatigue,dyspnea,and *** to 21.5%of HF patients experience significant depressive symptoms,much higher than 7.1%in adults without ***,metabolites,and other inflammatory mechanisms have gained notable attention in recent studies for contributions to symptoms in *** for black adults(B/As)with HF are often influenced by lifestyle factors,which may influence their higher mortality rates;few studies address these *** the links between key elements with diet,inflammation,and symptoms may bring clarity for new dietary strategies in HF clinical *** purpose of this integrative review is to examine the existing literature regarding relationships among physiologic pathways in HF along with physical and emotional symptoms in the context of inflammation,dietary intake,tumor necrosis factor‑alpha(TNF‑a),a biomarker of inflammation,and trimethylamine‑N‑Oxide(TMAO).Based on available evidence,inflammation may be a key link between physical symptoms,diet,depression,TMAO,and TNF‑a in persons with HF and warrants further examination to clarify pathological links to solidify evidence for better guidance with dietary *** literature reviewed in this study demonstrates that more work is needed to examine dietary planning,social support,and differences between men and women in the B/A *** of this literature review call attention to the essential,personalized care needs related to symptom monitoring and dietary planning which is expected to decrease symptom burden in the HF population.

Traits that aid in the invasion process should exhibit a gradient across the expansion range in response to changing selection pressures. Aggression has been repeatedly associated with invasion success in many taxa, as it may help invaders to wrestle the resources from other species which enhances their success in a novel environment. However, aggression primarily allows individuals to overcome conspecific rivals, providing advantages in competition over resources. Agonistic prowess could therefore increase fitness at both ends of the expansion gradient. Here we review the role of aggression in range expansion of invasive species, and its potential role as a driver of range expansion. We analyze how these different mechanisms could affect trait variation in expanding and invasive populations. Specifically, we look at how aggression could help dilate the edges of a population through niche competition, as well as lead to exclusion from the center (i.e. areas of high population density) by the conspe-cifics. Both of these processes will result in a characteristic spatial distribution of phenotypes related to aggression that could provide insights into the ecological pressures and dynamics of expanding populations, potentially providing clues to their success as niche competitors and invasive species.

Increasing production effeciency and lowering costs are some of the many advantages melt crystallization technology offers over the conventional methodology of tabletting. A normal tablet consists of a pure shell or a coat and a separate core constituting the pharmaceutical active ingredient. Great emphasis is put on the purity of the shell since its purpose is to solely protect and deliver the active ingredient to its target. Melt crystallization is a purification （separation） process. It is discussed here for its ability to produce coated tablets, by separating the ＂coating＂ material from the ＂to be coated＂ material coming from one molten mixture. Molten drops of lutrol-ibuprofen mixture are produced using the drop forming technique. The subsequent analysis involves proving and quantifying the phase separation （coat purity）. The mechanism of a crystallizing drop is shown as direct evidence of the ongoing process. Moreover, solidified tablet batches are analyzed for the purity of their coating by measuring the ibuprofen concentration. This optimization process is carried out through multiple stages of development and condition enhancements in order to produce the most pure tablet coating. As a result, a trial showing an almost purely coated tablet is presented here.

To gain insight into the inelastic behavior of piles, the response of a vertical pile embedded in dry sand and subjected to cyclic lateral loading was studied experimentally in centrifuge tests conducted in laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussees. Three types of cyclic loading were applied, two asymmetric and one symmetric with respect to the unloaded pile. An approximately square-root variation of soil stiffness with depth was obtained from indirect in-flight density measurements, laboratory tests on reconstituted samples, and well-established empirical correlations. The tests were simulated using a cyclic nonlinear Winkler spring model, which describes the full range of inelastic phenomena, including separation and re-attachment of the pile from and to the soil. The model consists of three mathematical expressions capable of reproducing a wide variety of monotonic and cyclic experimentalp-y curves. The physical meaning of key model parameters is graphically explained and related to soil behavior. Comparisons with the centrifuge test results demonstrate the general validity of the model and its ability to capture several features of pile-soil interaction, including： soil plastification at an early stage of loading, ＂pinching＂ behavior due to the formation of a relaxation zone around the upper part of the pile, and stiffness and strength changes due to cyclic loading. A comparison of the p-y curves derived from the test results and the proposed model, as well as those from the classical curves of Reese et al. （1974） for sand, is also presented.

Recently, studies were initiated to investigate the metagenome, which represents the genomes of cultured and uncultured microbes, as a rich source for isolation of many novel genes. The meta-genomic approach originated from the molecular analysis of microbial communities, which revealed that the majority of microorganisms in nature were not cultivable by standard culturing techniques. Therefore, most microorganisms in nature have not been characterized. Although numerous methods have been reported for direct DNA isolation and purification from microorganisms in soil, the sample preparation procedures and experimental conditions used in different studies vary widely. Soils are therefore one of the most challenging environmental matrices from which to obtain microbial DNA that will support PCR. The Papaloapan River is the second largest river basin in México. For the climatic conditions of this region, there is great diversity in plants, animals and microorganisms. In the Papaloapan region different fruits are grown, however, the main crops are sugarcane and pineapple. In this work the extraction of DNA from soils of sugarcane cultivation was performed. We used PCR tests to assess the quality of DNA extracted from soil by amplifying the 16S rDNA gene. Changes in both protocols were performed;satisfactory results were obtained as to the quality of DNA and gene amplification. These results will allow continuing the metagenomic studies, such as sequencing, library construction and identification of enzymes cellulase and amylase activity. It is the first time these studies were performed in the Papaloapan region.

The material associated with tree pruning in a city in the Colombian neotropics was characterized in order to determine its energy *** species studied for their relevance in the territory were Prosopis juliflora,licania tomentosa,Terminalia catappa,Azadirachta indica,Pithecellobium dulce,Ficus benjamina and leucaena *** content,bulk density,hygroscopic response,elemental chemical analysis,proximal analysis,calorific value,ease of ignition and combustion,thermogravimetric and heat flow analysis,steam generation capacity,and qualitative analysis of gases(mass spectrometry)were *** results that were obtained show high initial moisture contents that vary between 37%and 67%and a variable density(when dry)between 0.21 and 0.41 g/***,it was shown that all residues have lower carbon and sulfur content compared to a reference mineral ***,the residues of some species have higher nitrogen contents compared to the same *** biomasses are characterized by their high content of volatile fractions and by having a lower content of inorganic matter compared to *** lower calorific values of these residues are between 14170 and 16928 kJ/kg,which are not negligible compared to other *** characteristic would be related to the high presence of hemicellulose in the *** gas monitoring revealed that there are different airflow needs in order to ensure complete *** generation tests showed that the calorific value should not be the most relevant criterion to establish the potential use of the waste,since leucaena leucocephala,despite having the highest calorific value,was the material with the lowest performance in steam generation.
