Objective: Little is known about the prescription pattern of psychotropic drugs for patients with schizophrenia in Pakistan. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the characteristic features of psychotropic drug prescriptions for patients with schizophrenia in Pakistan. Methods: Three centers in Pakistan participated in a large scale collaborative study known as Research on Asian Prescription Pattern (REAP). The 2016 REAP survey included centers from 15 countries in Asia and used a unified research protocol. The design of the study was quantitative and of descriptive epidemiology. Analysis was made on the data collected from three centers i.e., Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. The data collected in Pakistan were compared with those from other Asian countries. The details of REAP were presented on the homepage of REAP (http://***). Results: From Pakistan, 298 patients were included. Patients with schizophrenia in Pakistan received higher rate of antipsychotic polypharmacy and a higher rate of co-prescription of mood stabilizers and anxiolytics when compared with participants from other South Asian countries (India and Bangladesh). Conclusion: The main findings of the study were that a majority of the patients were prescribed antipsychotic polypharmacy drugs in Pakistan. Insufficient training on the use of psychotropic drugs and a lack of treatment guideline are considered to be the major contributing factors. Further education and training on the proper use of psychotropic drugs are recommended to psychiatrists in Pakistan. The guidelines on pharmacotherapy for patients with schizophrenia should also be developed and promoted in Pakistan.

BACKGROUND Extramedullary blast crisis in chronic myeloid leukemia(CML)is an uncommon occurrence of leukemic blast infiltration in regions other than the bone *** infiltration of the serosal membranes should be considered in cases where CML presents with ascites or pleural *** SUMMARY A 23-year-old female with CML presented with progressively worsening ascites and pleural effusion despite first-line tyrosine kinase inhibitor *** blood work indicated leukocytosis with myelocyte bulge and 2%*** of the patient’s bone marrow confirmed the chronic phase of *** ultrasound revealed hepatosplenomegaly with *** fluid investigation of both ascites and pleural effusion revealed a predominance of neutrophils with ***,no acid-fast bacilli or growth was observed after *** hydroxyurea reduced cell counts,there was no observed effect on ascites or pleural *** investigation of the ascitic and pleural fluid revealed a polymorphous myeloid cell population consisting of myelocytes,metamyelocytes,band forms,neutrophils and a few *** blast crisis was suspected,and mutation analysis was *** switched the patient to *** patient’s symptoms were relieved,and ascites and pleural effusion *** Serosal membrane involvement in CML is extremely *** this case,the patient responded well to dasatinib treatment.

With the explosive advancements in wireless communications and digital electronics,some tiny devices,sensors,became a part of our daily life in numerous *** sensor networks(WSNs)is composed of tiny sensor *** have emerged as a key technology enabling the realization of the Internet of Things(IoT).In particular,the sensor-based revolution of WSN-based IoT has led to considerable technological growth in nearly all circles of our life such as smart cities,smart homes,smart healthcare,security applications,environmental monitoring,***,the limitations of energy,communication range,and computational resources are bottlenecks to the widespread applications of this *** order to tackle these issues,in this paper,we propose an Energy-efcient Transmission Range Optimized Model for IoT(ETROMI),which can optimize the transmission range of the sensor nodes to curb the hot-spot problem occurring in multi-hop *** particular,we maximize the transmission range by employing linear programming to alleviate the sensor nodes’energy consumption and considerably enhance the network longevity compared to that achievable using state-of-the-art *** extensive simulation results,we demonstrate the superiority of the proposed *** is expected to be extensively used for various smart city,smart home,and smart healthcare applications in which the transmission range of the sensor nodes is a key concern.

背景导尿管引起的尿管相关性膀胱不适（CRBD）令人痛苦。本研究评估了加巴喷丁用于预防CRBD的有效性。方法108例行择期经皮肾切开取石术的成年患者，ASAI～Ⅱ级，男女不限，随机分为2组，每组54例患者。对照组用安慰剂，G组用加巴喷丁600mg。2组患者均在手术前1小时口服药物。患者在麻醉诱导后将16F的Foley导尿管插入膀胱，气囊注入生理盐水10ml。手术后患者进入麻醉恢复室，分别在到达恢复室（0小时）、1、2和6小时的时间点评估CRBD的发生率与严重程度（轻、中、重度）。结果对照组CRBD的发生率达80％（43／54），而加巴喷丁组CRBD的发生率降低到50％（27／54）（P〈0．05）。加巴喷丁还可减轻CRBD的严重程度和手术后疼痛程度，该组手术后需要芬太尼镇痛的人数和芬太尼使用的总量都减少（P〈0．05）。结论手术前1小时口服加巴喷丁（600mg）可以减少CRBD的发生率和严重程度，减少手术后疼痛，使手术后需要芬太尼镇痛的患者例数和芬太尼需求量明显减少。
