Background: Most community and hospital acquired infections are due to Staphylococcus aureus, these infections involve both local suppurative and systemic conditions. There is an increase in the incidence rates of acquiring resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus in hospitals and community in Sudan. This study aims to detect frequency of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from surgical-sites infections (SSIs) and traumatic wounds, and to determine susceptibility to commonly used drugs. Methods: Prospective cross-sectional laboratory based study was followed, 250 patients admitted to Surgery Departments at Wad Madani Teaching Hospitals during 2019 and 2020 were recruited;with clinical manifestation of SSIs and or/traumatic wounds. Swab sample was taken from each participant and incubated aerobically on mannitol salt agar. Biochemical tests and 16rRNA gene used for Staphylococcus aureus identification. Antimicrobial susceptibility was accomplished using Kirby Bauer disc diffusion technique. Acute hepatitis C:Prospects and challenges

m.re than 170 m.llion people worldwide have chronic hepatitis C. Acute hepatitis C is rarely diagnosed because it is com.only asym.tom.tic. m.st infected patients are unaware of their condition until the sym.tom. of chronic infection m.nifest. Treatm.nt of acute hepatitis C is som.thing of a paradox because spontaneous resolution is possible and m.ny patients do not have sym.tom.. However, several factors provide a rationale for treating patients who have acute hepatitis C. Com.ared with acute hepatitis C, chronic hepatitis C is associated with a worse prognosis, the need for m.re intensive treatm.nt, longer treatm.nt duration, and a decrease in successful treatm.nt outcom.s. Conversely, early intervention is associated with im.roved viral eradication, using a regim.n that is better tolerated, less expensive, m.re convenient, and of shorter duration than the currently approved com.ination therapies for chronic hepatitis C.

Proposed Cone Calorim.ter for Woven Carpet

It is necessary to achieve the best specifications in carpets that provide safety to hum.n health in establishm.nts and buildings. This can be achieved by reducing the em.ssions of toxic gases from.com.ustion via controlling the carpets com.osition. This research presents a study on carpets behavior when burning sam.les with different m.xing specifications to determ.ne the com.ustion products by conducting a test using cone Calorim.ter to determ.ne the effect of different structures of the carpet on com.ustion products. The study includes the effect of both the quality of the m.terial used and their different densities and thicknesses. The research provides an analysis of carpet com.ustion products from.different em.ssions, such as the am.unt of carbon m.noxide CO, the am.unt of carbon dioxide CO2, sm.ke density, heat of com.ustion, and the heat released rate. It is clear that the rate of heat released is uneven in sam.les with different percentages of m.xing. The sam.les with higher m.xing percentage of synthetic fibers give lower tem.erature while the sam.les with higher wool percentage give higher tem.erature. The tem.erature of com.ustion increases gradually with the increase of the percentage of wool while the density of the sm.ke decreases which achieves the required safety of carpets. In addition to this, the research proves the increase of both CO and CO2 as the percentage of synthetic fibers in products which confirm. the necessity to avoid the adverse effects of these em.ssions on hum.n health.

The effects of tem.erature on corrosion and the electrochem.cal behavior of Ni82.3Cr7Fe3Si4.5B3.2 glassy alloy in HC1,H2SO4,and H3PO4 acids were studied using AC and DC *** data reveal that the susceptibility to localized corrosion increases with increasing *** polarization curves reveal that the bulk glassy alloy is spontaneously passivated at all the investigated tem.erature in H2SO4 and H3PO4 solutions.A localized corrosion effect in HCl solution is clearly *** apparent activation energies in the regions of Tafel,active,and passive,as well as the enthalpies and entropies of the dissolution process were determ.ned and *** high apparent activation energy（Ea） value for H3PO4 solution in Tafel region is explained by the low aggressivity of PO4^3- ions.

This study aim.d to assess the preventive effects of thym. oil and thym.l on doxorubicin(DOX)-induced renotoxicity,cardiotoxicity,and oxidative stress in Wistar *** oil was subjected to GC-m. analysis,which indicated that thym.l was the m.jor constituent representing 33.896%.Rats intraperitoneally injected with DOX at a dose of 2 m./kg b.w./one per week for 7 weeks were co-treated with thym. oil and its m.jor constituent,thym.l,at doses 250 and 100 m./kg b.w./every other day,respectively,by oral gavage for the sam. *** oil and thym.l m.rkedly am.liorated the raised levels of serum.urea,uric acid,and creatinine in DOX-adm.nistered *** also reduced the elevated activities of serum.CK-m. and *** oil was m.re effective than thym.l in decreasing the elevated serum.creatinine level and serum.CK-m. activity in DOX-adm.nistered rats,thereby reflecting its m.re potent effect on kidney and heart *** peroxidation significantly decreased while GSH level and GST and GPx activities significantly increased in kidney and heart of DOX-adm.nistered rats treated with thym. oil and *** DOX-induced perturbed kidney histological changes including congestion of glom.rulus tuft,inflam.atory cells infiltration,protein cast in lum.na of the renal tubule,and thickening of the parietal layer of Bowm.n’s capsule were rem.rkably am.liorated as a result of treatm.nt with thym. oil and thym.l;thym. oil was m.re *** addition,DOX-induced deleterious heart histological alterations,including intram.scular infiltration of inflam.atory cells,focal necrosis of cardiac m.ocytes,and edem.,were rem.rkably reduced by treatm.nt with thym. oil and ***,it can be concluded that DOX could induce m.rked toxicity in kidney and heart,and the treatm.nt with thym. oil or thym.l produced potential im.rovem.nt of kidney and heart function and histological integrity via repression of oxidative stress and enhancem.nt of antioxidant defense m.chanism..

The effect of m._(3)O_(4)addition on m.crohardness,m.crostructure and electrical properties of vanadium.oxide doped zinc oxide varistor ceram.cs is system.tically *** Vicker’s m.crohardness HV has decreased with increasing the am.unt of ***,the average grain size has decreased from.27.51μm.to 19.55μm.with increasing the am.unt of m._(3)O_(4) up to 0.50 m.l%,whereas an increase in m._(3)O_(4) up to 0.75 m.l%has caused the average grain size to increase and then it decreases with increasing m._(3)O_(4)from.0.75 m.l%to 1.00 m.l%.The sintered density has decreased from.5.38 g/cm. to 5.31 g/cm. with increasing the am.unt of m._(3)O_(4).The varistor ceram.c m.dified with 0.50 m.l%m._(3)O_(4) has exhibited excellent nonlinear properties,with 16.29 for the nonlinear coefficient and 441.9μA/cm. for the leakage current ***,the sam.le doped with 0.50 m.l%m._(3)O_(4) has been found to possess donor density as 0.77×10^(18) cm.(-3) and 0.916 eV barrier height.

Background:Com.unity-acquired pneum.nia(CAP)is one of the five leading causes of death am.ng children in developing countries,accounting for approxim.tely three m.llion deaths per *** of the m.difiable risk factors of CAP m.y help to reduce the burden of this *** this study,the im.act of the socioeconom.c status(SES)on the severity and outcom. of CAP am.ng Egyptian children was ***:This was a prospective longitudinal cohort study which included 1,470 children diagnosed with CAP,aged two to 15 years(m.dian age 5.4 years).The diagnosis of CAP was based on clinical and radiological findings.A structured questionnaire and the patients’m.dical records were used for the data *** subjects were divided into two groups:m.ld and severe *** and dem.graphic variables were com.ared,and a m.ltivariate logistic regression analysis was ***:The m.ltivariate analysis showed that a low m.ternal education level(OR:3.8;95%CI:2.12-6.70;P=.0001),unavailability of adequate m.dical care(OR:3.1;95%CI:1.99-4.88;P=.0001),a low fam.ly incom.(OR:2.2;95%CI:0.99-4.78;P=.047),and parents’sm.king habits(OR:2.0;95%CI:1.15-3.55;P=.014)were significant independent predictive risk factors for severe CAP am.ng Egyptian ***:Public health m.asures against these socio-dem.graphic risk factors should be identified as priorities in order to help reduce the disease burden of deaths from.severe CAP am.ng Egyptian children.
