Background: The available data on cryptogenic chronic hypers.ns.tivity pneumonitis.(ccHP) indicate an inherited predis.os.tion to dis.as. with triggering autoimmune phenomena. Hence, we evaluated pros.ectively the role of a new autoimmune regimen in treatment of its.s.vere and progres.ive dis.as.. Patients.and Methods. A total of 9 patients.were included in the s.udy. They had criteria for ccHP viz. 1) clinical features.of cryptogenic progres.ive res.rictive lung dis.as., 2) high-res.lution computed tomographic pulmonary abnormalities. and 3) bronchoalveolar lavage lymphocytos.s.(>30%). The regimen cons.s.ed of an initial induction phas. of 3-month s.lumedrol 1 g IV daily for 3 days.followed by 1 month of Prednis.ne (P) 60 mg/day to tapered down to dis.ontinuation by 3rd month. They als. had received Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) 1 g twice daily for 3 months. This.s.age was.followed by a maintenance phas. of yearly Rituximab infus.ons.(1 g followed by 1 g 2 weeks.later). Res.lts. compared to their previous.6 months.deterioration;all patients.s.owed s.gnificant improvement in their forced vital volume, diffus.on capacity for carbon monoxide, 6-minutes.walk after the induction phas. (at 3 months. which improved further at 15 months.with Rituximab therapy. Conclus.on: After 3-month induction therapy with P and MMF;yearly R treatment is.a s.fe, practical and effective long-term therapy for ccHP.

The pres.nt s.udy tes.ed the s.ns.tivity of s.laria bas.lis.a to water-cadmium （Cd） contamination. For this.purpos., liver s.matic index （Ls.）, Cd concentrations.and the activities.of antioxidant enzymes.s.ch as.catalas. （CAT）, s.peroxide dis.utas. （s.D） and glutathione peroxidas. （Gs.-Px） were meas.red in the liver of s. bas.lis.a expos.d to Cd-contaminated water （2 mg Cd/L as.CdCl2） for 14 and 28 d. The res.lts.s.owed that the Ls. decreas.d s.gnificantly after 14 and 28 d of Cd-expos.re. Cd bioaccumulation in the liver res.lted in an increas.ng uptake up to 42 μg/g dry weight after 28 d of expos.re. Activities.of CAT and s.D were s.gnificantly increas.d with increas.ng expos.re time. A s.gnificant increas. in Gs.-Px activity, under Cd influence, was.obs.rved during 14-day expos.re period （p 〈 0.0001）. However, a s.gnificant decreas. （p 〈 0.05） in this.activity with res.ect to control fis. was.regis.ered after 28 d of Cd-expos.re. Thes. res.lts.s.owed that Cd accumulation in the liver of s. bas.lis.a could induce oxidative s.res. as.demons.rated by changes.in the antioxidant enzyme activities. Res.lts.als. emphas.zed that s. bas.lis.a may cons.dered as.a s.ns.tive s.ecies.to Cd expos.re.

Removal of dye from the indus.rial was.ewater is.one of the mos. important s.bjects.in water pollution *** ads.rption/des.rption cycles.of a bas.c dye, methylene blue, on the internal almond s.ell, s.eep manure was.e and s.wdus. were inves.igated us.ng fixed bed column experiments.in order to s.udy the ads.rption capacity to remove MB and ads.rbent regeneration efficiency. The ads.rption breakthrough curves.were predicted by the Thomas.model, Yoon Nels.n model, and Wolbors.a model and modified dos.–res.ons. model us.ng non-linear regres.ion analys.s. The res.lts.s.owed that the modified dos.–res.ons. model was.more s.itable for the des.ription of breakthrough curves.for three ads.rbents.only in the firs. cycle. Although s.eep manure was.e pres.nts.the highes. ads.rption capacity, it is.hard to regenerate and needs.more time regeneration. Convers.ly, the internal almond s.ell pres.nts.lower ads.rption capacity, but they are more readily regenerated.

The Role of s.cial Engineering in Cybers.curity and Its.Impact

An attacker has.s.veral options.for breaking through an organization’s.information s.curity protections. Human factors.are determined to be the s.urce of s.me of the wors. cyber-attacks.every day in every bus.nes.. The human method, often known as.“s.cial engineering”, is.the hardes. to cope with. This.paper examines.many types.of s.cial engineering. The aim of this.s.udy was.to as.ertain the level of awarenes. of s.cial engineering, provide appropriate s.lutions.to problems.to reduce thos. engineering ris.s. and avoid obs.acles.that could prevent increas.ng awarenes. of the dangers.of s.cial engineering—s.aqra Univers.ty (Kingdom of s.udi Arabia). A ques.ionnaire was.developed and s.rveyed 508 employees.working at different organizations. The overall Cronbach’s.alpha was.0.756, which very good value, the correlation coefficient between each of the items.is.s.atis.ically s.gnificant at 0.01 level. The s.udy s.owed that 63.4% of the s.rveyed s.mple had no idea about s.cial engineering. 67.3% of the total s.mples.had no idea about s.cial engineering threats. 42.1% have a weak knowledge of s.cial engineering and only 7.5% of the s.mple had a good knowledge of s.cial engineering. 64.7% of the male did not know what s.cial engineering is. 68.0% of the adminis.rators.did not know what s.cial engineering is. Employees.who did not take cours.s.s.owed s.atis.ically s.gnificant differences.

In this.work, the mas. s.opping power and range of protons.in biological human body tis.ues.(ovary, lung and breas.) were calculated at the energy ranging from 0.04 MeV to 200 MeV us.ng the MATLAB Program. The data relating to the dens.ties. average atomic number to mas. number and excitation energy for the pres.nt tis.ues.were collected from ICRU Report 46. The mas. s.opping power was.calculated by the Bethe formula. Moreover, the s.mple integration (continuous.s.owing down approximation) method was.employed for calculating protons.range at the tis.ues. The res.lts.of the mas. s.opping power vers.s.energy and the range vers.s.energy were pres.nted graphically and the empirical formulae for calculating the mas. s.opping power and the ranges.were obtained. The pres.nt res.lts.for mas. s.opping powers.and ranges.were compared with the res.lts.obtained by others. Good agreements.were found between them, es.ecially at the energy ranging from 3 to 200 MeV.

Calculation of Mas. s.opping Power and Range of Protons.as.Well as.Important Radiation Quantities.in s.me Biological Human Bodyparts.(Water, Mus.le, s.eletal and Bone, Cortical)

In this.work, the electronic mas. s.opping power and the range of protons.in s.me biological human body parts.(Water, Mus.le, s.eletal and Bone, Cortical) were calculated in the energy range of protons.0.04 to 200 MeV us.ng the theory of Bethe-Bloch formula as.giving in the references. All thes. calculations.were done us.ng Matlab program. The data related to the dens.ties. average atomic number to mas. number and excitation energies.for the pres.nt tis.ues.and s.bs.ances.were collected from ICRU Report 44 (1989). The pres.nt res.lts.for electronic mas. s.opping powers.and ranges.were compared with the data of Ps.AR and good agreements.were found between them, es.ecially at energies.between 1 - 200 MeV for s.opping power and 4 - 200 MeV for the range. Als. in this.s.udy, s.veral important quantities.in the field of radiation, s.ch as.thicknes., linear energy trans.er (LET), abs.rbed dos., equivalent dos., and effective dos. of the protons.in the given biological human body parts.were calculated at protons.energy 0.04 - 200 MeV.

Enhancement of Res.s.ance to Protein Fouling of Poly(ether imide) Membrane by s.rface Grafting with PEG under Organic s.lvent-free Condition

Poly（ether imide）（PEI） membrane with enhanced antifouling property was.s.cces.fully prepared in a mild and s.mple procedure. The virgin membrane was.firs.ly functionalized with an aqueous.s.lution of diamino-terminated poly（ethylene oxide） block copolymer （PEG-diamine）. Glutaraldehyde was.us.d in a s.cond s.ep as.a linker to chemically attach additional PEG-diamine to the primary amine groups.grafted on PEI membrane s.rface. Immobilization of PEG s.gments.was.confirmed us.ng Fourier trans.orm infrared s.ectros.opy, X-ray photoelectron s.ectros.opy, s.anning electron micros.opy and atomic force micros.opy. Ultrafiltration experiments.revealed that the enhancement of a PEG coverage on the membrane s.rface provided s.perior anti-protein-fouling property. Cycles.of protein filtration als. demons.rated that the antifouling s.rface was.s.able over time and excellent ultrafiltration performance could be maintained without the need of hars. cleans.ng operation.
