inflammatory bowel disease: An evaluation of health information on the internet

To evaluate the quality and accuracy of websites written to the public on inflammatory bowel disease (iBD) (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis) and assess their readability ***™, Bing™, and Yahoo™ search engines were searched independently by three researchers in December 2014. Only English-language websites were selected on the basis of predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Researchers independently evaluated the quality of each website by using the DiSCERN and the HONcode instruments. The readability levels were calculated using two formulas; the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level index, and the Coleman-Liau Readability index. The agreement between the evaluators was calculated using Cohen kappa ***-four websites were finally identified. Scores varied from a minimum DiSCERN score of 18 to a maximum of 68 [mean ± SD, 42.2 ± 10.7; median = 41.5, interquartile range, interquartile range (iQR) = 15.8] and a minimum score of HONcode of 0.14 and a maximum of 0.95 (mean ± SD, 0.16 ± 0.19; median = 0.45, iQR = 0.29). Most of these websites were reviewed in 2014 and 2015 (n = 51). The creators of these websites were: universities and research centers (n = 25, 30%), foundations and associations (n = 15, 18%), commercial and pharmaceutical companies (n = 25, 30%), charities and volunteer work (n = 9, 10%), and non-university educational bodies (n = 10, 12%). The Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level readability score (mean ± SD) was 11.9 ± 2.4 and the Coleman-Liau Readability index score was 12.6 ± 1.5. Significant correlation was found between the two readability scores (R2 = 0.509, P = 0.001). The overall agreement between evaluators measured by Cohen kappa coefficient was in the range of 0.804-0.876; rated as 'Good'.CONCLUSiONThe DiSCERN and the HONcode scores of websites varied and the readability levels of most websites were above the public readability level. We give two results about Harnack type inequalities. First, on Riemannian surfaces, we have an estimate of type sup ＋ inf. The second result concern the solutions of prescribed scalar curvature equation on the unit ball of Rn with Dirichlet condition. Next, we give an inequality of type （supK ^u）^2s-1 × infπu ≤ c for positive solutions of △u = V u^5 on Ω belong toR^3, where K is a compact set of Ω and V is s-Holderian, s ∈] - 1/2, 1]. For the case s = 1/2 and Ω = S3, we prove that, if minΩ u 〉 m 〉 0 （for some particular constant m 〉 0）, and the H¨olderian constant A of V tends to 0 （in certain meaning）, we have the uniform boundedness of the supremum of the solutions of the previous equation on any compact set of Ω.

in this editorial,i commented on the paper by Lin et al,published in this issue of the World Journal of Gastrointestinal *** work aimed at analysing the clinicopathologic characteristics and prognosis of synchronous and metachronous cancers in patients with dual primary gastric and colorectal cancer(CRC).The authors concluded the necessity for regular surveillance for metachronous cancer during postoperative follow-up and reported the prognosis is influenced by the gastric cancer(GC)stage rather than the CRC *** surveillance was recommended in the conclusion,the authors did not explore this area in their study and did not include tests used for such *** editorial focuses on the most characterized gastrointestinal cancer susceptibility syndromes concerning dual gastric and *** include hereditary diffuse GC,familial adenomatous polyposis,hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer,Lynch syndrome,and three major hamartomatous polyposis syndromes associated with CRC and GC,namely Peutz-Jeghers syndrome,juvenile polyposis syndrome,and PTEN hamartoma *** assessment of these syndromes/conditions,including inheritance,risk of gastric and colorectal or other cancer development,genetic mutations and recommended genetic investigations,is crucial for optimum management of these patients.

We present a simulation of the magnetization curves, energy, probability, and torque landscapes of uniaxial systems with up to five anisotropy constants. The total energy used in the simulation is the sum of the anisotropy and Zeeman energies. The exchange interaction is not considered in the present work in which we treat single-domain-particle systems within a classical mechanics-based model. Diverse features of the calculated magnetization curves are highlighted for the studied systems. These diverse features are strongly dependent on the sign and magnitude of the simulation *** model is versatile enough to handle both hypothetical and real material systems, e.g. HoFe（11）Ti and Y2Co（17）.

in this note, we study a discrete time approximation for the solution of a class of delayed stochastic differential equations driven by a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H ∈(1/2,1). in order to prove convergence, we use rough paths techniques. Theoretical bounds are established and numerical simulations are displayed.

This study presents a modified low-cost approach,which integrates the spectral angle mapper and image difference algorithms in order to enhance classification maps for the purpose of monitoring and analysing land use/land cover change between 2000 and 2015 for the Emirate of *** approach was modified by collecting 320 training samples from QuickBird images with a spatial resolution of 0.6 m,as well as carrying out field observations,followed by the application of a 3×3 Soble filter,sieving classes,majority/minority analysis,and clump classes of the obtained classification *** accuracy assessment showed that the targeted 2000,2005,2010 and 2015 classification maps have 88.1252%,89.0699%,90.1225%and 96.0965%accuracy,*** results showed that the built-up area increased by 233.721 km^(2)(5.81%)between 2000 and 2005 and continues to increase even up and till the present *** assessment of changes in the periods 2000–2005 and 2010–2015 confirmed that net vegetation area losses were more pronounced from 2000 to 2005 than from 2010 to 2015,dropping from 47,618 to 40,820 km^(2),*** study is aimed to assist urban planners and decision-makers,as well as research institutes.

Nanofluids are considered as interesting alternatives to conventional coolants. it is well known that traditional fluids have limited heat transfer capabilities when compared to common metals. it is therefore quite conceivable that a small amount of extremely fine metallic particles placed in suspension in traditional fluids will considerably increase their heat transfer performances. A numerical investigation into the heat transfer enhancement capabilities of coolants with suspended metallic nanoparticles inside a radial, laminar flow cooling configuration is presented. Temperature dependant nanofluid properties are evaluated from experimental data available in recent literature. Results indicate that considerable heat transfer increases are possible with the use of relatively small volume fractions of nanoparticles. Generally, however, these are accompanied by considerable increases in wall shear-stress. Results also show that predictions obtained with temperature variable nanofluid properties yield greater heat transfer capabilities and lower wall shear stresses when compared to predictions using constant properties.
