Objec.ive:Laparosc.pic.c.olec.stec.omy is c.rrently the gold standard for treating symptomatic.gallstone *** its suc.ess,approximately 10%of patients may experienc. persistent biliary symptoms,leading to the post-c.olec.stec.omy syndrome.A remnant gallbladder with c.stic.duc. or bile duc. stones is one of the c.uses of this *** objec.ive of this study was to shed light on the c.inic.l manifestations,evaluation,therapeutic.strategies,and outc.mes assoc.ated with laparosc.pic.management of symptomatic.remnant ***:This was a retrospec.ive study,c.nduc.ed over a five-year period(January 2017 to Dec.mber 2022)at Apollo Hospitals in South *** patients who underwent laparosc.pic.c.mpletion c.olec.stec.omy for a remnant gall bladder were *** following data were c.llec.ed:patient demographic.,symptoms,preoperative investigations,intraoperative details and post operative ***:In total,36 patients were inc.uded and *** majority of patients were male(25,69.4%),with a mean age of 50.7±12.1 *** most c.mmon presentation was pain in the upper abdomen or right upper quadrant region(24,66.7%).The laparosc.pic.approac. was attempted in all patients,with a suc.ess rate of 94.4%.Two patients required c.nversion to open *** fistula to the c.lon was observed in one *** was observed in 7 patients(19.4%),and stone c.earanc. was suc.essfully ac.ieved using endosc.pic.retrograde c.olangiopanc.eatography in all patients ***:Inc.mplete gall bladder removal either intentionally or unintentionally leaves a remnant gall bladder that is at risk for stone formation and *** who have this c.inic.l entity with symptoms require a redo or c.mplete c.olec.stec.omy,a c.mplex proc.dure assoc.ated with c.rtain *** study highlights the feasibility and safety of laparosc.pic.c.mpletion c.olec.stec.omy for the management of remnant gallbladder

c.tionic.hydrogel with magnetic.property was synthesized via radic.l polymerization and its removal c.pac.ty of c.romate from c.ntaminated water was found to be 200 mg/*** Fourier transform infrared spec.rosc.py（FT-IR） study,the mec.anism of c.romate removal by hydrogel was found to be non-spec.fic.adsorption,mainly due to ion exc.ange,as evidenc.d by the positively c.arged func.ional group,trimethyl ammonium-N＋（c.3）3,in the *** were ac.ordingly determined by testing di？erent oxyanion adsorption onto the *** results of the c.romate adsorption experiments illustrated that the amount of c.romate adsorbed was nearly equal to that of the c.loride released from the hydrogel,whic. is part of the evidenc. for ion *** and multi-oxyanion adsorption experiments were also performed,and it was demonstrated that ion removal was spec.es independent,but c.arge dependent,another c.arac.eristic.of the ion exc.ange *** was found that the same Langmuir model c.n be applied to best fit the findings of single and multi-oxyanion adsorption,whic. further indic.tes the mec.anism of c.romate removal is attributed to ion *** view of the above,the bac.ground anions c.mpete for adsorption sites with c.romate,evidenc.d by inhibitive c.romate removal in the presenc. of bac.ground elec.rolytes in the batc. studies,further ec.oing the ion exc.ange mec.anism.

Bac.ground:Modern ec.systems c.ntain many invasive spec.es as a result of the ac.ivity of ac.limatisation soc.eties that operated in the sec.nd half of the nineteenth c.ntury,and these spec.es provide good opportunities for studying invasion ***,to gain insight into the ec.logic.l and genetic.mec.anisms that determine the rate of c.lonization and adaptation to new environments,we need a good understanding of the history of the introduc.d spec.es,and a knowledge of the sourc. population,timing,and number of individuals introduc.d is partic.larly ***,any inac.urac.es in the history of an introduc.ion will affec. subsequent assumptions and ***:Foc.sing on a single well-known spec.es,the House Sparrow(Passer domestic.s),we have doc.mented the introduc.ion into Australia using primary sourc.s(*** rec.rds and newspaper artic.es).Results:Our revised history differs in a number of signific.nt ways from previous *** evidenc. indic.tes that the House Sparrow was not solely introduc.d from sourc. populations in England but also from Germany and most strikingly also from India—with the latter birds belonging to a different *** also c.arify the distinc.ion between the number released and the number of founders,due to pre-release c.ptive breeding programs,as well as identifying inac.urac.es in a c.uple of well-c.ted sourc.s with respec. to the range expansion of the introduc.d ***:Our work suggests that c.ution is required for those studying introduc.ions using the key sourc.s of historic.l information and ideally should review original sourc.s of information to verify the ac.urac. of published ac.ounts.

The c.op produc.ion in the distric. of Kasaragod in Kerala State(India)is c.arac.erized by low input-low yield c.nc.pt and rain-fed agric.lture.A field study was c.nduc.ed in Western Ghat region of the distric. to develop a suitable rainwater harvesting system adoptable to hilly terrains and to test its effic.c. for improving the use effic.enc. of the harvested water by its multiple *** c.st-benefit analysis of the water harvesting system was also c.rried out to find out its affordability to *** water harvesting system has been developed by integrating three c.mponents:(i)improving the produc.ivity of c.c.nut and c.mponent c.ops in the c.opping units(ii)developing multiple water use systems,and(iii)the c.njunc.ive use of the harvested water along with other surfac. and groundwater *** on the estimated annual c.sts and returns,the Benefit-c.st ratio was found to be 1.69 and all other financ.al viability c.iteria(IRR and NPV)were also found favourable for investment on a lined water harvesting tank integrated with a mic.o-irrigation system and fish *** study suggested that the rainwater harvesting c.uld be implemented as a viable alternative to c.nventional water supply or on-farm irrigation projec.s c.nsidering the fac. that any land anywhere c.n be used to harvest ***,the water use effic.enc. c.n be improved through effec.ive harvesting and subsequent multiple uses of stored water.

Earth resourc.s are the essential basis for an ec.nomy of a c.untry and well-being of her c.tizens. Their exploitation is a key fac.or in ec.nomic.growth and development of the nation, but one that c.n have serious negative environmental and soc.o-ec.nomic.impac.s. Therefore it is important to understand their origin/oc.urrenc. and exploitation in terms of environmental sustainability. The human soc.ety has profited from exploitation of earth resourc.s, prec.sely when energy use bec.me muc. more effic.ent during the industrial era. Some of these earth resourc.s (renewable and non-renewable) are oil and gas, c.al, water, metal ore, wind, air etc. and their methods of exploitation are surfac. and subsurfac. mining methods [1]. Thus the geologic.l perspec.ives of earth resourc.s refer to origin and oc.urrenc. of these earth resourc.s while the engineering perspec.ives refer to the proc.sses involved in the extrac.ion (mining), proc.ssing and utilization of the resourc.s. To fulfill the requirement of sustainable development, the effic.enc. with whic. resourc.s are utilized has to be improved. The main c.nc.rns assoc.ated with earth resourc.s, therefore, are generally the c.sts and environmental impac.s of extrac.ing, transporting, and refining them. The ec.nomic. of earth resourc.s deals with the supply, demand and alloc.tion of the resourc.s.

Disagreement between symptom-reflux assoc.ation analysis parameters in pediatric.gastroesophageal reflux disease investigation

AIM: To assess the agreement within 3 c.mmonly used symptom-reflux assoc.ation analysis (SAA) parameters investigating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in infants. METHODS: Twenty three infants with suspec.ed GERD were inc.uded in this study. Symptom index (SI), Symptom sensitivity index (SSI) and symptom assoc.ation probability (SAP) related to c.ugh and irritability were c.lc.lated after 24 h c.mbined pH/multiple intraluminal impedanc. (MII) monitoring. Through defined c.toff values, SI, SSI and SAP values are differentiated in normal and abnormal, whereas abnormal values point towards gastroesophageal reflux (GER) as the origin of symptoms. We analyzed the c.rrelation and the c.nc.rdanc. of the diagnostic.c.assific.tion of these 3 SAA ***: Evaluating the GER-irritability assoc.ation, SI, SSI and SAP showed non-identic.l c.assific.tion of normal and abnormal c.ses in 39.2% of the infants. When irritability was taken as a symptom, there was only a poor inter-parameter assoc.ation between SI and SSI, and between SI and SAP (Kendall’s tau b = 0.37, P c.ively). Evaluating the GER-c.ugh assoc.ation, SI, SSI and SAP showed non-identic.l c.assific.tion of normal and abnormal c.ses in 52.2% of the patients. When c.ugh was taken as a symptom, only SI and SSI showed a poor inter-parameter assoc.ation (Kendall’s tau b = 0.33, P c.Nc.USION: In infants investigated for suspec.ed GERD with pH/MII-monitoring, SI, SSI and SAP showed a poor inter-parameter assoc.ation and important dis-agreements in diagnostic.c.assific.tion. These limitations must be taken into c.nsideration when interpreting the results of SAA in infants.
