In a preliminary investigation, Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis and partial mitochondrial ND2 gene sequencing were conducted to study the genetic variation of the Indian mackerel, Rastrelliger kanagurta along a 450 km stretch of its distribution on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. A total of 53 individuals from 6 populations were analyzed using 4 RAPD primers and a sub-sample of 15 individuals was chosen for sequencing of partial ND2 gene. Comparison between the 2 markers revealed genetic structuring in the RAPD results but genetic homogeneity for ND2 gene. based on the former there may be at least 2 genetically differentiated groups of Rastrelliger kanagurta along this stretch.

There is a link between high lipopolysaccharide(LPS)levels in the blood and the metabolic syndrome,and metabolic syndrome predisposes patients to severe ***,we define an interaction between SARS-CoV-2 spike(S)protein and LPS,leading to aggravated inflammation in vitro and in *** gel electrophoresis demonstrated that SARS-CoV-2 S protein binds to *** thermophoresis yielded a of〜47 nM for the *** modeling and all-atom molecular dynamics simulations further substantiated the experimental results,identifying a main LPS-binding site in SARS-CoV-2 S protein.S protein,when combined with low levels of LPS,boosted nuclear factor-kappa b(NF-k b)activation in monocytic THP-1 cells and cytokine responses in human blood and peripheral blood mononuclear cells,*** in vitro inflammatory response was further validated by employing NF-kb reporter mice and in vivo *** light scattering,transmission electron microscopy,and LPS-FITC analyses demonstrated that S protein modulated the aggregation state of LPS,providing a molecular explanation for the observed boosting *** together,our results provide an interesting molecular link between excessive inflammation during infection with SARS-CoV-2 and comorbidities involving increased levels of bacterial endotoxins.

This paper presents a demonstration that uses group method of data handling (GMDH) model in time series forecasting. The GMDH model is used to forecast the rice yield data using three modified functions which were radial basis, sigmoid and tangent hyperbolic. It is compared to two individual forecasting artificial neural network (ANN) and polynomial function in GMDH. The comparison reveals that the recommended functions demonstrated the results to perform reasonably well and therefore, can be applied to real life prediction and modeling problems.

Thin films of GaN had been succesfully deposited on Al2O3 (0001) substrates by the sol-gel spincoating technique using gallium-citrate-amine (GCA) gel and N2 gas. In order to investigate the effect of deposition temperature on the physical characteristic of deposited GaN films, the deposition temperature was varied at 1,123, 1,173, and 1,223 K. The Results indicated that the deposition temperature could affect the physical characteristics of deposited GaN films. Increasing the deposition temperature caused increase of the crystalline quality, quality of the surface morphology, carrier mobility and bandgap energy of the films. Although, the overall quality of surface morphology of the deposited GaN films was still low.

报告1例免疫功能正常患者鼻眶部毛霉菌病非典型病例,并对该病例进行相关文献回顾。患者,男,17岁,免疫功能正常,左眼2mo缓慢进行性疼痛肿胀。行组织活检,病理学诊断为毛霉菌病。采用综合疗法,包括筛窦及上颌窦侵入性内窥镜切除和清创、左眼眶内容物刮除术、静脉注射两性霉素b和眶内两性霉素b冲洗,成功根除真菌感染。该病例说明,鼻眶部毛霉菌病可发生在年轻健康的个体身上。早期诊断,积极的药物和手术治疗对成功地治疗这种罕见的具有潜在致命性的疾病是至关重要的。

Accumulating evidence indicates a potential role for bacterial lipopolysaccharide(LPs)in the overactivation of the immune response during SARS-CoV-2 *** is recognized by Toll-like receptor 4,mediating proinflammatory *** previously reported that LPS directly interacts with SARS-CoV-2 spike(S)protein and enhances proinflammatory *** native gel electrophoresis and hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry,we showed that LPS binds to multiple hydrophobic pockets spanning both the S1 and S2 subunits of the S *** simulations validated by a microscale thermophoresis binding assay revealed that LPS binds to the S2 pocket with a lower affinity compared to S1,suggesting a role as an intermediate in LPS ***,nuclear factor-kappa b(NF-kb)activation in monocytic THP-1 cells is strongly boosted by *** NF-kb reporter mice followed by bioimaging,a boosting effect was observed for both S1 and S2,with the former potentially facilitated by *** Omicron S variant binds to LPS,but with reduced affinity and LPS boosting in vitro and in *** together,the data provide a molecular mechanism by which S protein augments LPS-mediated hyperinflammation.
