This study assessed the impact of external debt on longevity in developing countries,particularly in West Africa,from 1981 to *** was proxied by life expectancy at birth,while the study evaluated effects from external debt from the perspective of sustainability,liquidity,and ***,outcomes from macroeconomic volatility were controlled through inflation and exchange rate ***,the robustness of inferences was ensured by using estimated outcomes from the cross-sectional augmented autoregressive distributed lag(CS-ARdL),dynamic common correlated effects(dCCE),and the driscoll–Kraay(d–K)***,the study showed that unsustainable,illiquid,and insolvent external debt and macroeconomic volatility shorten longevity mainly in the long-term in West African ***,longevity will decline when weak external debt management promotes poverty in developing countries.

The electricity situation in Nigeria can be described as epileptic with no sign in view of improvement. This epileptic power situation affects the manufacturing, service and residential sectors of the economy which in turn affects the country’s economic growth. Even with the recent reforms in the power sector, more than half of the country’s population still lack access to electricity. The epileptic condition of the power sector can be attributed to the inadequate and inefficient power plants, poor transmission and distribution facilities, and outdated metering system used by electricity consumers. This paper attempts to present the way forward for the Nigerian poor electricity situation by reviewing the power sector as a whole and the renewable energy potentials. We identified the problems in the national grid and then proposed a smart grid model for the Nigerian power sector which will include renewable energy source. We believe that the content of this review paper will solve the poor epileptic condition of the power sector in Nigeria and also enable the proper integration of smart grid technology into the national grid.

The mixed metal/metal sulphide(Ag@CoS)with reduced graphene oxide(rGO)nanocomposite(Ag@CoS/rGO)was synthesized for the possible electrode in ***@CoS was successfully deposited on the rGO nanosheets by hydrothermal method,implying the growth of 2d Ag and CoS-based hexagonal-like structure on the rGO *** synthesized nanocomposite was subjected to structural,morphological and electrochemical *** XRd results show that the prepared nanocomposite material exhibits a combination of hexagonal and cubic phase due to the presence of CoS and Ag phases *** band appearing at nearly 470.33 cm^−1 in FTIR spectra can be ascribed to the absorption of S—S bond in the Ag@CoS/rGO *** clear hexagonal structure was analysed by SEM and TEM with the grain sizes ranging from nanometer to *** electrode material exhibits excellent cyclic stability with a specific capacitance of 1580 F/g at a current density of 0.5 A/g without any loss of capacitive retention even after 1000 *** on the electrochemical performance,it can be inferred that the prepared novel nanocomposite material is very suitable for using as an electrode for electrochemical supercapacitor applications.

In the present study,the electrophoretic deposition method was successfully applied as a binder-free and scalable approach to deposit carbonaceous nanomaterials on carbon fiber paper(CFP)for cathode applications in Li-S *** microstructural studies of the EPd-CNT film using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)revealed the formation of a crack-free and porous layer of CNTs being uniformly distributed on the CFP *** EPd:CFP/CNT/S cathode delivered a capacity around 2.2 times higher than that obtained in the absence of the EPd-CNT film(CFP/S cell)after 50 cycles and a capacity of935 mAh g^-1 after 100 cycles at 0.1 *** EPd method was then employed to fabricate layer-by-layer structures where the EPd-CNT film was decorated with carbon black *** initial capacity as well as the reversible capacity after 100 cycles was further increased by the EPd:CFP/CNT/KB/S layer-by-layer structure to 1473 and 1033 mAh g^-1,respectively,indicating effective suppression of the shuttle *** addition,the rate performance of CFP/S was improved by depositing the EPd-CNT and EPd-CNT/carbon black architectures on CFP surface,and even further enhanced through the co-deposition of CNT and Pt nanoparticles by EPd,delivering a specific capacity of around 730 mAh g^-1 at 1 ***,the cathodes fabricated by EPd were observed to outperform those made by the conventional casting method in terms of cycling performance,internal resistance,and *** difference was ascribed to the non-uniform microstructure of the Cast-CNT film,which resulted in poor interfacial connection between the CNT agglomerates,hindering uniform sulfide/sulfur deposition during *** obtained results suggested that the binder-free C/S nanocomposite cathode made by EPd is key to further enhance the specific capacity and energy density of Li-S batteries.

Clean energy is vital for the sustainability of any economy in the world. Many industrialized nations have increased their production capacity of renewable energy while other countries lacking the technical expertise and resource have resorted to import these technologies. The imported technologies mostly have standards that are followed by the manufactures while others are manufactured cheaply and exported to developing countries that do not have adequate standards and certification bodies. Nigeria which is a fast growing country has no existing standards to check the influx of renewable energy technologies into the country. This study stresses the need for the development of standards for renewable energy technologies in order to prevent the importation of substandard renewable energy technologies in Nigeria. The study reviews the renewable energy potentials in Nigeria, introduces the concept of standardization and discusses the development of standards for renewable energy technologies.
