Calibration of HEC-RAS Model for One Dimensional Steady Flow Analysis—A Case of Senegal River Estuary Downstream Diama Dam

The Sahelian regions have experienced a drought that has made them vulnerable to hydro-climatic conditions. Strategies have been developed to reduce this vulnerability. The governments of Senegal, Mauritania, Mali and Guinea have created the Organization for the development of the Senegal River (OMVS in french) with the aim of realizing large hydraulic installations. This resulted in the construction of the Diama and Manantali dams in the Senegal River Basin. The first aims to stop the saline intrusion, the second to regulate the flow of the river, to allow the irrigation of agricultural perimeters, and to produce electrical energy. The impoundment of the Diama dam has modified the hydraulic behavior of the estuary. The purpose of this study is to carry out the hydraulic modeling of the estuary of Senegal river downstream of the Diama Dam in transient mode by the HEC-RAS software. Two geometric models were constructed on the basis of a digital terrain model (DTM) using the Arc-GIS and HEC GeoRAS soft wares after processing the collected topographic data. The first geometric model, of which the areas of Senegal river downstream Diama Dam have been represented by cross-section, is one-dimensional. The second one is also one dimensional;in this model, the area of the Senegal River estuary downstream Diama Dam is introduced as water storage zones. The components of these models are the stream sections, lateral links, and storage areas. The flood hydrograph downstream Diama Dam is introduced as conditions at the upstream limits of the models while the tidal is introduced as a downstream condition. Management of reservoir water resources requires the knowledge of flow inputs in this reservoir. Hydrological rainfall-runoff model is used for this purpose. There are several types of hydrological model according the description of the hydrological processes: black-box models, conceptual models, deterministic physical based model. SWAT is a semi-distributed hydrological model designed for water quality and quantity. This versatile tool has been used all around the world to assess and manage water resources. The main objective of the paper is to calibrate and validate the SWAT model on the watershed of Bafing located between 10°30' and 12°30' north latitude and between 12°30' and 9°30' west longitude to assess climate change on this river flows. A DEM with a resolution of 12.5 m × 12.5 m, the daily average flows and the daily observed precipitations on the period 1979-1986 (long period) are used as inputs for the calibration, while precipitations for the period 1988-1994 are used for the validation. The sensitivity analysis was done to detect the most determining coefficients during the calibration step. It shows that 19 parameters are required. Then, the effect of the period on the parameters calibration is checked by considering first the whole period of study and then each year of the period of study. Esophagogastric junction outflow obstruction: Where are we now in diagnosis and management?

Esophagogastric junction outflow obstruction(EGJOO) is a major motility disorder based on the Chicago Classification of esophageal motility *** entity involves a heterogenous group of underlying etiologies. The diagnosis is reached by performing high-resolution manometry. This reveals evidence of obstruction at the esophagogastric junction, manifested by an elevated integrated relaxation pressure(IRP) above a cutoff value(IRP threshold varies by the manometric technology and catheter used), with preserved peristalsis. Further tests like endoscopy, timed barium esophagram, and cross-sectional imaging can help further elucidate the underlying etiology and rule out mechanical *** is tailored to the underlying cause. Similar to achalasia, treatment targeting lower esophageal sphincter disruption like pneumatic dilation, peroral endoscopic myotomy, and botulinum injection are used in patients with functional EGJOO and persistent symptoms.

Novel miniature pneumatic pressure regulator for hopping robots

A novel miniature pressure regulator is fabricated and studied. The regulator can easily be integrated into portable mechatronics or miniature robotic applications because of its lightweight and compact size. An especial poppet is designed to minimize its size and to withstand high-pressure. The pressure regulator is designed for a hopping robot which is powered by a combustion system. The hopping robot has great moving capacities such as jumping over big obstacles, wails and dit- ches. The regulator helps the hopping robot to decrease size and weight, and to sustain high pres- sure of oxygen and fuel tank. It will maintain constant output pressure to obtain suitable proportion of oxygen and fuel in the combustion cylinder. Dynamic simulation of the miniature pneumatic pres- sure regulator is performed. Experiments on prototype of miniature pneumatic pressure regulator are also carried out to validate the performance and satisfied performance is obtained.

The possibility of ttming between red, green and broadband white color of up-conversion was demonstrated in thermally 450 ℃ treated Yb/Er co-doped nano NaYF4 phosphor. The color variability was studied by means of power dependence of luminescence, which exhibited unusual behavior. Large hysteresis, as well as discrepancy from a power law indicated the important role the increased heating played during the up-conversion in nano-sized materials.

NAC和WRKY转录因子(TFs)在环境胁迫中起着关键的作用,然而关于NAC和WRKY转录因子在竹子中的研究报道较少。慈竹是重要的经济竹种,其具有很强的生长能力,可以在各种生境中生长,在恶劣的环境条件下也能存活。本研究的主要目的是鉴定让慈竹抵抗非生物胁迫环境相关的转录因子,并将其转化到小麦中,研究其功能。本研究成功的从慈竹中克隆得到两个新的胁迫相关的转录因子BeSNAC1”和“BeWRKY2”,并对其进行生物信息学、组织表达、酵母单杂交和亚细胞定位分析。利用基因枪法对小麦“DN7742”的幼胚愈伤组织进行遗传转化,并获得转基因植株,为BeSNAC1”和“BeWRKY2”功能的深入研究奠定基础,也为抗性小麦品种改良提供理论依据。主要研究结果如下:1.通过使用生物信息学方法和来自相应植物的相应数据库的信息来分离基因。使用来自水稻的应激响应性SNAC1的氨基酸序列,通过同源克隆法克隆NAC TF。尽管为了分离WRKYTF,利用来自Phyllostachys杂环基因组数据库和Bambusa Emeiensis转录组数据库的信息。分离的TF分别命名为“BeSNAC1”和“BeWRKY2”。和“BeSNAC1”和BeWRKY2”进行生物信息学分析;研究结果表明BeSNAC1具有912bb的开放阅读框(ORF),其编码303个氨基酸的蛋白质,预测分子量为34.26086kDa。而BeWRKY2具有888bp的开放阅读框(ORF),编码295个氨基酸的长蛋白,预测分子量为31.63580kDa。多重蛋白序列比对表明BeSNAC1和BeWRKY2蛋白分别含有典型的NAC和WRKY结构域。系统发育分析揭示BeSNAC1属于NAC家族的SNAC组;与SNAC1,HvSNAC1,TaNAC2,SbSNAC1 和 ZmSNAC1 蛋白进化枝,同时BeWRKY2 属于 WRKY 家族 Ⅱd 组;与 TaWRKY16,ZmWRKY1,ZmWRKY21,ZmWRKY74,GhWRKY30,AtWRKY7,AtWRKY11,AtWRKY15,AtWRKY17和AtWRKY21蛋白进化。2.转录因子自激活活性分析表明,“BeSNAC1”和“BeWRKY2”都是转录激活因子。3.亚细胞定位发现“BeSNAC1”和“BeWRKY2”都定位在细胞核中。4.非生物胁迫处理慈竹,结果表明,ABA、PEG、NaCl、Na2SO4和H2O2分别处理慈竹后,BeSNAC1和BeWRKY2基因表达显著上调。在NaCl和H2O2处理慈竹后BeSNAC1基因表达迅速上调,其他三种处理,BeSNAC1基因的表达上调的时间出现的较晚。另外,ABA、NaCl和H202处理能迅速诱导BeWRKY2的基因表达,而PEG和Na2S04处理时BeWRKY2基因表达上调出现的时间较晚。由以上结果可以推测,这两个转录因子在非生物胁迫反应中发挥作用。5.构建超表达载体并通过粒子轰击转化为小麦幼胚愈伤组织。通过PCR验证成功存活的小植株,并进行过量表达分析的qPCR。结果显示BeSNAC1成功转化并过表达到两个转基因品系中,而对于BeWRKY2,鉴定了 12个正向转化和过表达品系。收集To代小麦全部转基因植株的种子,种植T1代。

Distal esophageal spasm (DES) is a rare major motility disorder in the Chicago dassification of esophageal motility disorders (CC).DES is diagnosed by finding of≥20%premature contractions,with normal lower esophageal sphincter (LES)relaxation on high-resolution manometry (HRM) in the latest version of *** feature differentiates it from achalasia type 3,which has an elevated LES relaxation *** other spastic esophageal disorders,DES has been linked to conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease,psychiatric conditions,and narcotic *** addition to HRM,ancillary tests such as endoscopy and barium esophagram can provide supplemental information to differentiate DES from other *** lumen imaging probe (FLIP),a new cutting-edge diagnostic tool,is able to recognize abnormal LES dysfunction that can be missed by HRM and can further guide LES targeted treatment when esophagogastric junction outflow obstruction is diagnosed on *** treatment in DES mostly targets symptomatic relief and often *** toxin injection during endoscopy may provide a temporary therapy that wears off over *** through peroral endoscopic myotomy or via surgical Heller myotomy can provide long term relief in cases with persistent symptoms.
