In this exploratory work,micrometric radiopaque W-Fe-Mn-C coatings were produced by magnetron sputtering plasma deposition,for the first time,with the aim to make very thin Fe-Mn stents trackable by *** power of Fe-13Mn-1.2C target was kept constant at 400 W while that of W target varied from 100 to 400 W producing three different coatings referred to as P100,P200,*** effect of the increased W power on coatings thickness,roughness,structure,corrosion behavior and radiopacity was *** coatings showed a power-dependent thickness and W concentration,different roughness values while a similar and uniform columnar *** amorphous phase was detected for both P100 and P200 coatings while γ-Fe,bcc-W and W_(3)C phases found for ***,P200 and P400 showed a significantly higher corrosion rate(CR)compared to *** presence of W,W_(3)C as well as the Fe amount variation determined two different micro-galvanic corrosion mechanisms significantly changing the CR of coatings,0.26±0.02,59.68±1.21 and 59.06±1.16μm/year for P100,P200 and P400,*** P200 with its most uniform morphology,lowest roughness(RMS=3.9±0.4 nm)and good radiopacity(~6%)appeared the most suitable radiopaque biodegradable coating investigated in this study.

Lebanese marine water is exposed to multi-point source contaminants. Risk assessment associated with deteriorative water quality profile is not only affected by the disposed quantities of specific contaminant, but also its chemical speciated forms. The objective of this study is to quantify the Lebanese chemical marine water profile. Sea water samples were collected based on GIS map. The chemical water quality was assessed by measuring the macro water parameters and potential existing metals. The microbiological profile of water was evaluated by fecal coliform. Results showed contamination by fecal coliform and high levels of toxic metals. However, the actual projected impact of the detected metals on human health were assessed using geochemical models ＂FREEQCE＂ and ＂Mineq＋＂ that predict the metal species forms, mainly, the free aqua-metal ion, most toxic form. Thus, these results necessitate the proposal of integrated intervention plans for the protection of this marine source and consistent with international treaties.

This study investigated the effects of tivo cognitive strategies,rote memorization and semantic mapping,on L2 vocabulary *** intermediate female EFL learners divided into two experimental groups participated in this *** experimental group used one of the strategies far vocabulary *** the four-month treatment period,a multiplechoice vocabulary post-test was given to the members of both groups to measure their progress in this *** results indicated that,although both groups had improved their word storage,the difference between their mean scores on the post-test was not statistically ***,it u^as concluded that,in spite of the energy and time demoted to preparing the semantic maps far each unit of instruction,this techniqu￡was not superior to rote memorization in helping the students to expand their word knowledge,thus casting doubt on the criticism targeted at rote memorization as a useful strategy for vocabulary acquisition.

Background: Recent reports suggest that the prevalence of autism in the Arab world ranges from 1.4 cases per 10,000 children inOmanto 29 per 10,000 children in theUnited Arab Emirates. While these rates are lower than those of the developed world, which are 39 per 10,000 for autism and 77 per 10,000 for all forms of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), it does not necessarily mean the condition is less prevalent in the Arab world. Objectives: Studies of parents with children with autism suggest that 35% - 53% of mothers with children show various degrees of depressive symptoms. However, many of these studies were conducted in western countries which still make little inferences about the prevalence of these stresses in Arab countries uncertain. No data are available on the use of the BDI on parents of children with autism in Kuwait. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the prevalence of parental depression in families of children with autism and in control families. Subjects and Methods: The participants in this study were 120 mothers and fathers of autistic children whose children were attending the Kuwait Autism Center at the time of this study. They were asked to complete the Arabic translated version of the Beck’s Depression Inventory (BDI). It consists of 21 symptoms or attitudes commonly seen in patients suffering from depression. The symptoms are rated from “0”to “3”in intensity. The following cut-off points of depressive symptoms were used when interpreting the results in the present study: the range of scores from 0 to 9 indicates no depression, 10 - 20 dysphoria and over 20 depression. Results: The mean standard deviation scores for the mothers of autistic children were 21.2 ÷ 2.9 and 10.3 ÷ 2.1, (p = 0.001) for the control mothers respectively. No significant difference were observed across the samples of fathers other than slight increase for the autistic group. This study was carried out on a sample of 100 patients attending outpatient oncology center in Basra governorate located in south of Iraq. In order to assess their satisfaction with nursing care quality and identify the relationship between their satisfaction rate and selected variables. The results showed that high satisfaction rate for the technical quality 87 （87%） followed by interpersonal communication dimension 86 （86%） while the lowest satisfaction rate was for the information given by the nurse 64 （64%）. There were no statistical differences among the age of the patients, their education, their marital status and occupation. Furthermore, the satisfaction level with nursing care except for females who reported significantly higher level of satisfaction with nursing technical quality.

This paper is concerned with a singular second-order nonlinear boundary value problem with a time depending on derivative operator and posed on the positive half-line. The nonlinearity is derivative-dependent, which has singularities at t=0 and/or x=0, and may change sign. The method of the upper and lower solutions on unbounded domains combined with the topological degree theory are employed to prove the existence and multiplicity of solutions.

BACKGROUND The management of caustic esophageal burns in the pediatric population has changed over the years,while the most optimal management with regards to effectiveness,availability,and cost-beneficent stays *** To describe how to utilize a chest tube for esophageal stenting in *** Data regarding the etiology,treatment,and complications of caustic injury in pediatrics over 10 years was collected ***,data regarding the patient's follow-up who underwent esophageal chest tube(ECT)were *** ECT was prepared by carving a narrowed section in the chest tube while maintaining the radiopaque *** ECT will then be positioned from the cricopharyngeal and exited through the nostril and fixed on the patient's *** During the period of our study,data from 57 patients with an average age of 2.5 years(range 1-12;SD=1.7)were *** results showed that 89%of esophageal injury was due to alkaline and 9.4%were caused by acidic *** treatment methods showed that 29 patients(50.8%)recovered with dilatation *** 16 patients(28.06%),the esophageal repair was performed by using the colon,and in 5 patients(8.7%),other surgical methods were used and in 7 patients(12.2%),the ECT stents were *** was inserted in 7 cases with a mean age of 2(range:1.5-3)years who were classified as grade IIB or *** was performed by endoscopy assessment on the first *** and corticosteroids were administrated as initial medical management for all *** implantation was done during the first 8 d for 5 out of 7 cases(mean:3.8 d).For the 2 patients,ECT was used after 27(patient 6)d and 83(patient 7)*** reason for late stenting in these patients was a postponed referral to our center,in which patient 7 even received 4 dilation episodes before visiting our *** was removed after an average of 44 d in the first 5 patients,while in the other 2 patients(6 and 7)was 2 and 1 wk,respective

There are different ways for the rote memorization of vocabulary items,such as singing songs,using flashcards,playing games,etc;however,given the age and educational background of the participants in this project,this study focused on out-of-class rote memorization of word lists through repetition without learners having any chance to use the memorized words in any communicative or collaborative interaction with peers or speakers of English as a first,second,or foreign language.
