Semiconducting metal oxides have been considered as effective approach for designing highperformance chemical sensing *** this paper,a kind of metal-organic frameworks ZIF-8 was used as sacrificed template to prepare porous ZnO hollow nanocubes for the application in gas *** is found that changing calcination temperature and solvent can greatly influence the morphology of the material,which finally affects the gas sensing ***-sensing properties of the sensors were investigated in *** can be clearly seen that the material used methanol as reaction solvent with the decomposition at 350℃for 2 h(ZnO-350-M)showed the optimal formaldehyde-sensing behaviors compared with other materials prepared in this *** dynamic transients of the ZnO-350-M-based sensors demonstrated a high response value(about 10),fast response and recovery rate(4 s and 4 s,respectively)and good selectivity towards 100 ppm(part per million)formaldehyde as well as a low detectable limit(1 ppm).As exemplified for the sensing inve stigation towards formaldehyde,the porous ZnO hollow nanocubes showed a significantly improved chemical sensitivity due to the highly syne rgistic effects from the well exposed surfaces,defect states and the robust ZnO.

Efficient catalysts are required for both oxidative and reductive reactions of hydrogen and oxygen in sustainable energy conversion ***,current precious metal-based electrocatalysts do not perform well across the full range of reactions and reported multifunctional catalysts are all complex ***,we show that singlephase porous Co3Mo3N prepared via a facile method is an efficient and reliable electrocatalyst for three essential energy conversion reactions;oxygen evolution reaction(OER),oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)in alkaline ***3-Mo3N presents outstanding OER,ORR,and HER activity with high durability,comparable with the commercial catalysts RuO2 for OER and Pt/C for ORR and *** practical demonstrations,Co3Mo3N gives high specific capacity(850 mA h gZn^(-1) at 10 mA cm^(-2))as the cathode in a zinc-air battery,and a low potential(1.63 V at 10 mA cm^(-2))used in a water-splitting *** of Co and Mo d-states appear to result in high ORR and HER performance,while the OER properties result from a cobalt oxide-rich activation surface *** findings will inspire further development of bimetallic nitrides as cost-effective and versatile multifunctional catalysts that will enable scalable usage of electrochemical energy devices.

Medical image segmentation is a powerful and evolving technology in medical *** fact,it has been identified as a very effective tool to support and accompany doctors in their fight against the spread of the coronavirus(COVID-19).Various techniques have been utilized for COVID-19 image segmentation,including Multilevel Thresholding(MLT)-based meta-heuristics,which are considered crucial in addressing this ***,despite their importance,meta-heuristics have significant ***,the imbalance between exploration and exploitation,as well as premature convergence,can cause the optimization process to become stuck in local optima,resulting in unsatisfactory segmentation *** this paper,an enhanced War Strategy Chimp Optimization Algorithm(WSChOA)is proposed to address MLT *** strategies are incorporated into the traditional Chimp Optimization *** update mechanism that provides diversity in the ***,the attack and defense strategies are incorporated to improve the search space leading to avoiding local *** experimental results were conducted by comparing WSChoA with recent and well-known algorithms using various evaluation metrics such as Feature Similarity Index(FSIM),Structural Similarity Index(SSIM),Peak signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR),Standard deviation(STD),Freidman Test(FT),and Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test(WSRT).The results obtained by WSChoA surpassed those of other optimization techniques in terms of robustness and accuracy,indicating that it is a powerful tool for image segmentation.

An Overview of PRP-Delivering Scaffolds for Bone and Cartilage Tissue Engineering

Tissue engineering is nowadays an emerging approach that aims to replace or regenerate diseased or damaged organs with engineered constructs. Considering the key role of growth factors (GFs) in the tissue regeneration process, these biomolecules are considered an important part of the tissue engineering process, so the presence of growth factors in engineered scaffolds can accelerate tissue regeneration by influencing the behavior of cells. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), as an autologous source of a variety of growth factors, is considered a therapeutic agent for the treatment of degenerative diseases. Regarding its ability to promote the healing process and tissue regeneration, PRP therapy has attracted great attention in bone and cartilage tissue engineering. Incorporating PRP and its derivatives into engineered scaffolds not only bioactivates the scaffold, but the scaffold matrix also acts as a sustained and localized growth factor release system. In addition, the presence of a scaffold can promote the bioactivity of GFs by providing an environment that facilitates their interaction, leading to enhanced effects compared to their free form. This review presents a brief overview of PRP's role in bone and cartilage tissue regeneration with the main focus on scaffold-mediated PRP delivery. In addition, the classification of platelet-rich products, current extraction techniques, terminology, and scaffold bioactivation methods are presented to provide a better understanding of the basics and the key aspects that may affect the effectiveness of therapy in bone and cartilage tissue engineering.

The conversation about consciousness of artificial intelligence(AI)is an ongoing topic since *** the numerous applications of AI identified in healthcare and primary healthcare,little is known about how a conscious AI would reshape its use in this *** there is a wide range of ideas as to whether AI can or cannot possess consciousness,a prevailing theme in all arguments is *** this uncertainty and the high stakes associated with the use of AI in primary healthcare,it is imperative to be prepared for all scenarios including conscious AI systems being used for medical diagnosis,shared decision-making and resource management in the *** commentary serves as an overview of some of the pertinent evidence supporting the use of AI in primary healthcare and proposes ideas as to how consciousnesses of AI can support or further complicate these *** the scarcity of evidence on the association between consciousness of AI and its current state of use in primary healthcare,our commentary identifies some directions for future research in this area including assessing patients’,healthcare workers’and policy-makers’attitudes towards consciousness of AI systems in primary healthcare settings.

The reconstruction of images from their corresponding noisy Radon transform is a typical example of an ill-posed linear inverse problem as arising in the application of computerized tomography(CT).As the(naive)solution does not depend on the measured data continuously,regularization is needed to reestablish a continuous *** this work,we investigate simple,but yet still provably convergent approaches to learning linear regularization methods from *** specifically,we analyze two approaches:one generic linear regularization that learns how to manipulate the singular values of the linear operator in an extension of our previous work,and one tailored approach in the Fourier domain that is specific to *** prove that such approaches become convergent regularization methods as well as the fact that the reconstructions they provide are typically much smoother than the training data they were trained ***,we compare the spectral as well as the Fourier-based approaches for CT-reconstruction numerically,discuss their advantages and disadvantages and investigate the effect of discretization errors at differentresolutions.

Introduction The application of large language models such as generative pre-trained transformers(GPTs)has been promising in medical education,and its performance has been tested for different medical *** study aims to assess the performance of GPTs in responding to a set of sample questions of short-answer management problems(SAMPs)from the certification exam of the College of Family Physicians of Canada(CFPC).Method Between August 8th and 25th,2023,we used GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 in five rounds to answer a sample of 77 SAMPs questions from the CFPC *** independent certified family physician reviewers scored AI-generated responses twice:first,according to the CFPC answer key(ie,CFPC score),and second,based on their knowledge and other references(ie,Reviews’score).An ordinal logistic generalised estimating equations(GEE)model was applied to analyse repeated measures across the five *** According to the CFPC answer key,607(73.6%)lines of answers by GPT-3.5 and 691(81%)by GPT-4 were deemed ***’s scoring suggested that about 84%of the lines of answers provided by GPT-3.5 and 93%of GPT-4 were *** GEE analysis confirmed that over five rounds,the likelihood of achieving a higher CFPC Score Percentage for GPT-4 was 2.31 times more than GPT-3.5(OR:2.31;95%CI:1.53 to 3.47;p<0.001).Similarly,the Reviewers’Score percentage for responses provided by GPT-4 over 5 rounds were 2.23 times more likely to exceed those of GPT-3.5(OR:2.23;95%CI:1.22 to 4.06;p=0.009).Running the GPTs after a one week interval,regeneration of the prompt or using or not using the prompt did not significantly change the CFPC score *** In our study,we used GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 to answer complex,open-ended sample questions of the CFPC exam and showed that more than 70%of the answers were accurate,and GPT-4 outperformed GPT-3.5 in responding to the *** language models such as GPTs seem promising for assisting candidates of the CFPC exam by pr

Environmental goods and low-carbon technologies have long been identified as having the potential to drive long-term economic progress without compromising environmental quality. However, their exact role in mitigating environmental degradation are yet to be unravelled. In addressing this shortfall, the extant literature relied on research funding and patent application as proxies for green technologies. Having established the weaknesses in the use of these variables as proxies for green technologies, this study explored the role of trade in environmental goods and low-carbon technologies in boosting environmental quality among G20 nation using a panel dataset from 1994 to 2018. The study employed the Method of Moment quantile regression for the model estimation and the Ridge regression, Discroll-Kraay standard error, and the Newey-West standard error estimators to test the robustness of our findings. Our findings indicate that whereas environmental goods promote environmental quality, low-carbon technologies decrease same. Also, the study found economic growth to exert an aggravating effect on environmental quality, while foreign direct investments, natural resource rents, human capital development, and renewable energy consumption exert positive influence on environmental quality. Based on the findings of the study, G20 nations are encouraged to improve green market structures to improve the trade in environmental goods and low-carbon technologies. Also the share of renewable energy sources in the overall energy basket must be improved to help improve environmental quality.

Prevalence and Risk Factors of Osteonecrosis of the Jaw in Patients with Bisphosphonate Exposure in Casablanca, Morocco: An Observational Study

Objective: To study the prevalence of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) and to determine the risk factors associated with the occurrence of this pathology. Method: An observational retrospective study was conducted in the Department of Oncology, Rheumatology, and Maxillofacial Surgery of Ibn Rochd University Hospital, Casablanca. The study utilized complete medical records from 2014 to 2022 and included consultations of patients receiving bisphosphonates (BPs) in July and September 2022. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 16.0. Results: Our study population comprised 104 patients, of whom 91% were women and 49% were over 65 years old. Seventy-two percent of patients had a general pathology. Among them, 64 patients were treated with zoledronate, 43 with alendronate, and the remainder with risedronate, ibandronate, and pamidronate. The most common indications for treatment were bone metastasis following breast cancer (29.8%) and osteoporotic fractures (19.2%). Sixty-seven patients received intravenous (IV) treatment;only 10.5% exhibited good oral health. Fifty percent of patients underwent dental treatment, primarily tooth extractions. Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) was diagnosed in 1.9% of patients, predominantly in stages 1 and 2. Conclusion: Second and third-generation bisphosphonates are more strongly associated with the development of ONJ. Risk factors include monthly IV administration, poor oral health, comorbidities such as diabetes, medications like corticosteroids, invasive dental procedures, and not only oncological conditions but also rare indications such as bone algodystrophy. Nevertheless, our observed prevalence of 1.9% aligns with international rates ranging from 0.8% to 12%. However, most of the studies that have been carried out have been retrospective studies with insufficient numbers of patients.
