Background: Congenital cystic adenom.toid m.lform.tion (CCAm. is a congenital anom.ly of lung developm.nt, accounting for approxim.tely 25% of congenital lung lesions. Respiratory distress often occurs during the neonatal period, and in 80% to 85% of cases, the diagnosis is m.de before the age of 2 years following respiratory infections. Case Report: We report a case of m.KC diagnosed in the neonatal period. The diagnosis was based on clinical, radiological and histological elem.nts. Our patient underwent surgical resection. Histological exam.nation confirm.d the diagnosis of m.KC without any sign of m.lignancy. The postoperative evolution was good. Conclusion: Clinicians and pathologists should recognize the early discovery of m.KC in neonatal age. The clinical diagnosis strongly guided by the radiological approach is confirm.d by the pathological anatom. insofar as the therapeutic sanction is surgical in the m.jority of the cases.

This paper deals with two novel structures for m.bile robots. The original inspiration of the robots com.s from.a sala- m.nder and a specific kind of spiders. Our robots have som. especial m.ving capabilities causing to increase the robot m.- neuverability. Indeed, the capability of rolling m.tion is added to ordinary quadruped robots. This capability causes increm.nt in m.neuvering of the robots. m.nipulators can be em.edded into the robots to add the ability of transferring m.terials into the shell and conducting som. tasks such as repairing. In this paper, after analysis of m.tion principles of the rolling robots, their dynanlic equations are derived. Different sim.lations of two bioinspired m.bile robots are presented in order to scrutinize various capabilities of the proposed designs. Walking capabilities of the robots and their advantages are discussed in detail. The com.rehensive sim.lation results of the robots in various m.tion m.des are presented. Finally the first prototype is introduced to verify the m.tion m.chanism..

Cone beam.com.uted tom.graphy is a 3-dim.nsional high resolution im.ging m.thod. The purpose of this study was to com.are the effects of 3 different NiTi rotary instrum.nts used to prepare curved root canals on the final shape of the curved canals and total am.unt of root canal transportation by using cone-beam.com.uted tom.graphy. A total of 81 m.sial root canals from.42 extracted hum.n m.ndibular m.lars, with a curvature ranging from.15 to 45 degrees, were selected. Canals were random.y divided into 3 groups of 27 each. After preparation with Protaper, Revo-S and Hero Shaper, the am.unt of transportation and centering ability that occurred were assessed by using cone beam.com.uted tom.graphy. Utilizing preand post-instrum.ntation radiographs, straightening of the canal curvatures was determ.ned with a com.uter im.ge analysis program. Canals were m.trically assessed for changes （surface area, changes in curvature and transportation） during canal preparation by using software Sim.lant; instrum.nt failures were also recorded. m.an total widths and outer and inner width m.asurem.nts were determ.ned on each central canal path and differences were statistically analyzed. The results showed that all instrum.nts m.intained the original canal curvature well with no significant differences between the different files （P=0.226）. During preparation there was failure of only one file （the protaper group）. In conclusion, under the conditions of this study, all instrum.nts m.intained the original canal curvature well and were safe to use. Areas of uninstrum.nted root canal wall were left in all regions using the various system..

The study aim.d to explore the prophylactic effect of m.latonin, rowatinex; a naturally occurring renal drug, and its com.ination on diabetic nephropathy in type 2 diabetic rats. Diabetes was induced by intraperitoneal injection of a single dose of streptozotocin(50 m./g body weight). Three days before diabetes induction, rats were daily treated with m.latonin, rowatinex and their com.ination continuously for 8 weeks. Evaluation was done through m.asuring blood urea nitrogen(BUN), serum.uric acid, serum.creatinine, urine creatinine, creatinine clearance, nitric oxide(NO), m.londialdehyde(m.A), superoxide dism.tase(SOD), glutathione(GSH), total antioxidant capacity(TAC),kidney injury m.lecule-1(KIm.1), heat shock protein-70(HSP-70), caspase-3, transform.ng growth factor β1(TGFβ1), DNA degradation by the com.t assay and total protein contents. Histopathologic study was also done for the kidney and the pancreas. Drastic changes in all m.asured param.ters of the diabetic rats were observed. Treatm.nt with m.latonin and rowatinex showed am.lioration to variable degrees. In conclusion, m.latonin showed the m.st potent effect on protecting rats from.deleterious action of diabetic nephropathy followed by its com.ination with rowatinex.

Corrosion protection afforded by a m.gnesium.coating treated in cerium.salt solution on steel substrate was investigated using open circuit potential, polarization curves, and electrochem.cal im.edance spectroscopy （EIS） in 0.005 m.sodium.chloride solution （NaCl）. The m.rphology of the surface was characterized by scanning electron m.croscopy （SEm., energy dispersive spectroscopy （EDS）, and X-ray diffraction （XRD）. The cerium.treated coating was obtained by im.ersion in CeCl3 solution. The results showed that the corrosion resistance of the treated m.gnesium.coating was im.roved. The corrosion potential of the treated coating was found to be nobler than that of the untreated m.gnesium.coating and the corrosion current decreased significantly. Im.edance results showed that the cerium.treatm.nt increased corrosion protection. The im.rovem.nt of anti-corrosion properties was attributed to the form.tion of cerium.oxides and hydroxides that gave rise to a physical barrier effect.

Cerium.conversion treatm.nt was applied on m.gnesium.coatings in a solution containing CeC13. The com.osition ot the cenum.conversion layer on m.gnesium.was investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）, It was revealed that the com.osition predom.nately consisted of a three-valent state cerium.com.ound with a relative abundance around 90%. Som. of Ce^3＋ was oxidized to Ce^4＋. Electrochem.cal im.edance spectroscopy results revealed that the total im.edance of cerium.treated sam.les increased for a short im.ersion tim. in NaC1 solution before coating deteriorating. This deterioration was due to the coating porosity increasing and the breakdown of the conversion layer

Breast cancer is the m.st frequently diagnosed cancer in wom.n under 60, and the second m.st diagnosed cancer in wom.n over 60. While significant progress has been made in developing targeted therapies for breast cancer, advanced breast cancer continues to have high mortality, with poor 5-year survival rates. Thus, current therapies are insufficient in treating advanced stages of breast cancer;new treatments are sorely needed to address the complexity of advanced-stage breast cancer. Oncolytic virotherapy has been explored as a therapeutic approach capable of systemic administration, targeting cancer cells, and sparing normal tissue. In particular, oncolytic adenoviruses have been exploited as viral vectors due to their ease of manipulation, production, and demonstrated clinical safety profile. In this study, we engineered an oncolytic adenovirus to target the chemokine receptors CXCR4 and CXCR7. The overexpression of CXCR4 and CXCR7 is implicated in the initiation, survival, progress, and metastasis of breast cancer. Both receptors bind to the ligand, CXCL12 (SDF-1), which has been identified to play a crucial role in the metastasis of breast cancer cells. This study incorporated a T4 fibritin protein fused to CXCL12 into the tail domain of an adenovirus fiber to retarget the vector to the CXCR4 and CXCR7 chemokine receptors. We showed that the modified virus targets and infects CXCR4- and CXCR7-overexpressing breast cancer cells more efficiently than a wild-type controlm.ly:Verdana;"> vector. Four solanaceous plant species, nam.ly hot pepper (Capsicum.frutescensL.), potato (Solanum.tuberosum..), tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum..) and tom.to (Lycopersicon esculentum.iller) were anatom.cally screened for com.atibility/incom.atibility to field dodder (Cuscuta cam.estrisYuncker, Cuscutaceae). The developm.nt of field dodder haustorium.within stem.tissues of the studied solanaceous plants was found to depend on the latter’s response to the form.r’s penetration. In hot pepper and tobacco, which showed a positive response, the haustorium.was well developed and its searching hyphae established connections with their vascular tissues. However, potato and tom.to showed a negative response and acquired different defense m.chanism. against the parasitism.of field dodder. In both of them. the field dodder haustorium.and/or its searching hyphae exhibited distorted appearance and failed to establish connection with their vascular tissues. Thus, the tested solanaceous plant species could be classified as either com.atible (hot pepper and tobacco) or incom.atible (potato and tom.to) hosts to field dodder.

The sm.rt novel ratio difference spectrophotom.tric m.thod was developed and validated for the determ.nation of a binary m.xture of Sodium.crom.glicate (SCG) and Fluorom.tholone (FLU) in presence of benzalkonium.chloride without prior separation. The results were com.ared to that of the conventional m.thods (dual wavelength and first derivative of ratio spectra). The suggested m.thods were validated in com.liance with the ICH guidelines and were successfully applied for determ.nation of SCG and FLU in their laboratory prepared m.xtures and com.ercial ophthalm.c solution. The novel m.thod showed significant advantages over the conventional m.thods regarding sim.licity, m.nim.l data m.nipulation and m.xim.m.reproducibility and robustness;which enabled the analysis of binary m.xtures with overlapped spectra for routine quality control testing with quite satisfactory.

Background: The m.an central corneal thickness (CCT) values are known to have an influence on intraocular pressure m.asurem.nt and vary widely with age, sex and ethnicity. Little is known about the pattern of CCT in central Uganda. Aim. To determ.ne the m.an central corneal thickness and its associated factors am.ng adult patients attending m.lago Hospital eye clinic, Kam.ala Uganda. Design and m.thod: A cross sectional study was done from.August to October 2016 on 270 adult patients selected by system.c random.sam.ling. The study included all adult patients who attended the eye clinic during the study period and consented to the study excluding those who had conditions causing abnorm.l thinning, thickening or irregularity of the cornea. The participants were evaluated by history taking and ocular exam.nation including visual acuity assessm.nt, slit lam. exam.nation, central cornea thickness m.asurem.nt, intraocular pressure m.asurem.nt and funduscopy. Data were collected using a pretested questionnaire, entered using Epidata and analyzed by STATA11.0. Results: Of the 270 patients exam.ned, 61% were fem.le, 39% m.le, the m.an age being 42 years ranging from.18 to 96 years. The m.an central corneal thickness for both eyes was 539.3 (SD ± 41.65 μm. ranging from.332 μm.to 701 μm.and m.an intraocular pressure was 15 (SD ± 5.34) m.Hg. Gender, ethnicity, IOP, glaucom., hypertension, diabetes, refractive error, were not statistically significantly associated with central cornea thickness. However central cornea thickness was statistically significantly associated with systolic blood pressure (r = -0.24, p = 0.025) and age (p = 0.002). A one-year increase in age reduced the m.an central cornea thickness by 0.54 μm. Conclusion: The average CCT of Ugandan adult population was 539.3 ± 41.65 μm.which falls in the category of norm.l central cornea thickness. Central corneal thickness reduced with increasing age and increasing systolic blood pressure.
