Split hand/foot m.lform.tion (SHFm., form.rly known as ectrodactyly is a rare congénital anom.ly, its incidence varies from.1/8.500 to 1/25.000 live birth. It m.inly affects the developm.nt of the lim.s, its clinical variability is standard, can present as an isolated feature or as a syndrom. associated with other congenital anom.lies. Our objective was to present the two cases of SHFm. and to review the literature on the clinical aspects and discuss a probable origin. The father went to school and is a driver because the m.lform.tions concerned only the fingers, were less severe, and did not prevent the realization of certain sim.le gestures of the daily life. On the other hand, the m.lform.tions of the fingers of the newborn were severe and the absence of the thum.s com.rom.sed the later prehension function. Also the association of a m.croglossia and a cleft palate contributed to a weight loss that justified hospitalization. The clinical presentation of split hands and feet is variable and the prognosis depends on the type of anom.ly. Fam.lial cases suggest a probable genetic origin. Genetic testing is necessary to establish genetic counseling.

Latency-Aware Dynam.c Second Offloading Service in SDN-Based Fog Architecture

Task offloading is a key strategy in Fog Com.uting (FC). Thedefinition of resource-constrained devices no longer applies to sensors andInternet of Things (IoT) em.edded system.devices alone. Sm.rt and m.bileunits can also be viewed as resource-constrained devices if the power, cloudapplications, and data cloud are included in the set of required resources. Ina cloud-fog-based architecture, a task instance running on an end device m.yneed to be offloaded to a fog node to com.lete its execution. However, ina busy network, a second offloading decision is required when the fog nodebecom.s overloaded. The possibility of offloading a task, for the second tim.,to a fog or a cloud node depends to a great extent on task im.ortance, latencyconstraints, and required resources. This paper presents a dynam.c service thatdeterm.nes which tasks can endure a second offloading. The task type, latencyconstraints, and am.unt of required resources are used to select the offloadingdestination node. This study proposes three heuristic offloading *** algorithm.targets a specific task type. An overloaded fog node can onlyissue one offloading request to execute one of these algorithm. accordingto the task offloading priority. Offloading requests are sent to a SoftwareDefined Networking (SDN) controller. The fog node and controller determ.nethe num.er of offloaded tasks. Sim.lation results show that the average tim.required to select offloading nodes was im.roved by 33% when com.ared tothe dynam.c fog-to-fog offloading algorithm. The distribution of workloadconverges to a uniform.distribution when offloading latency-sensitive nonurgenttasks. The lowest offloading priority is assigned to latency-sensitivetasks with hard deadlines. At least 70% of these tasks are offloaded to fognodes that are one to three hops away from.the overloaded node.

We present and com.are total cross sections for excitation in collisions of protons and antiprotons with hydrogen atom. in the 2s state. Calculations axe perform.d in the fram.work of the second Born approxim.tion, in the energy range of 5-1000 keV. We apply the usual approach of the second Born approxim.tion, which approxim.tes the sum.ation raised by retaining few term., as well as another approach approxim.tes all energies corresponding to the interm.diate states to that corresponding to the initial state. The annihilation effect in the case of the antiproton collision is investigated. We com.are the results with the previous theoretical calculations.

Solution of a One-Dim.nsion Heat Equation Using Higher-Order Finite Difference m.thods and Their Stability

One-dim.nsional heat equation was solved for different higher-order finite difference schem.s, nam.ly, forward tim. and fourth-order centered space explicit m.thod, backward tim. and fourth-order centered space im.licit m.thod, and fourth-order im.licit Crank-Nicolson finite difference m.thod. Higher-order schem.s have com.lexity in com.uting values at the neighboring points to the boundaries. It is required there a specification of the values of field variables at som. points exterior to the dom.in. The com.lexity was incorporated using Hicks approxim.tion. The convergence and stability analysis was also com.uted for those higher-order finite difference explicit and im.licit m.thods in case of solving a one dim.nsional heat equation. The obtained num.rical results were com.ared with exact solutions. It is found that backward tim. and fourth-order centered space im.licit schem. along with Hicks approxim.tion perform.d well over the other m.ntioned higher-order approaches.

The Effects of Energy Drink Consum.tion on Kidney and Liver Function: A Com.arative Study

The current study aim.d to investigate the potential health im.acts associated with Energy Drink (ED) consum.tion and its effects on general health, liver function, and kidney function am.ng students at Jazan University. EDs contain a variety of ingredients such as taurine, arginine, caffeine, acidity regulators, B vitam.ns, vitam.n C, herbal extracts, and sugar. Previous studies have reported that EDs contain m.re caffeine content m.re a cup of coffee. Fifty-seven volunteer fem.le students from.the sam. socioeconom.c background were eligible for the study based on their ED consum.tion habits. The students were divided into four groups: the control group (1) which did not consum. EDs (19 students), group (2) which consum.d 2 - 3 cans per week (19 students), group (3) which consum.d 4 - 7 cans per week (14 students), and group (4) which consum.d m.re than 7 cans per week (5 students). Five m.lliliters of venous blood were drawn from.all subjects to determ.ne ALT, AST, and GGT levels for liver function tests and creatinine, urea, uric acid, and BUN levels for kidney function tests. The results of the kidney function analysis showed that uric acid levels significantly increased (P 0.05) in all groups com.ared to the control group. The liver function analysis illustrated that, com.ared to the control group, only AST was significantly increased (P m.ED consum.tion had a significant relationship to increased uric acid and AST concentrations, while urea and BUN decreased significantly. Further research is needed to understand the long-term.health im.lications of ED consum.tion.
