Skin disorders in peritoneal dialysis patients:An underdiagnosed subject

AIM： To examine all skin changes in peritoneal dialysis （PD） patients followed up in our ***： Patients on PD program for at least three months without any known chronic skin disease were included in the study. Patients with already diagnosed skin disease, those who have systemic diseases that may cause skin lesions, patients with malignancies and those who did not give informed consent were excluded from the study. All patients were examined by the same predetermined dermatologist with all fndings recorded. The demographic, clinical and laboratory data including measures of dialysis adequacy of patients were recorded also. Statistical Package for Social Sciences （SPSS） for Windows 16.0 standard version was used for statistical ***： Among the patients followed up in our PD unit, those without exclusion criteria who gave informed consent, 38 patients were included in the study with male/female ratio and mean age of 26/12 and 50.3 ± 13.7 years, respectively. The duration of CKD was 7.86 ± 4.16 years and the mean PD duration was 47.1 ± 29.6 mo. Primary kidney disease was diabetic nephropathy in 11, nephrosclerosis in six, uropathologies in four, chronic glomerulonephritis in three, chronic pyelonephritis in three, autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease in three patients while cause was unknown in eight patients. All patients except for one patient had at least one skin lesion. Loss of lunula, onychomycosis and tinea pedis are the most frequent skin disorders recorded in the study group. Diabetic patients had tinea pedis more frequently （ P = 0.045）. No relationship of skin findings was detected with primary renal diseases, comorbidities and medications that the patients were ***： Skin abnormalities are common in in PD patients. The most frequent skin pathologies are onychomycosis and tinea pedis which must not be overlooked.

Effect of Heat Treatment on Microstructure,Mechanical Properties and Fracture Behaviour of Ship and Dual Phase Steels

Grade A （GA） and high strength steel DH36 ship steels possessing different chemical compositions were used, and strength properties of GA steel and DH36 steel were compared. Additionally, 4 types of dual phase （DP） steels with different martensite volume fractions （MVFs） were produced from GA steel by means of heat treatment and they were compared with other steels through conducting mierostructure, microhardness, tensile and impact tests. The fracture surfaces of specimens （DH36, GA and DP steels） exposed to tensile and Charpy impact tests were investigated by scanning electron microscope. Furthermore, it was found that the specimens quenched from 800 and 900℃ had better strength than DH36 steel. The tensile test results indicated that the tensile strength of DP steel water quenched from 900℃ was 3 times that of GA steel and twice that of DH36 steel.

Relativistic solutions for diatomic molecules subject to pseudoharmonic oscillator in arbitrary dimensions

The exact solutions of the N-dimensional Klein–Gordon equation in the presence of an exactly solvable potential of V（r）=De（r/re-re/r）2 type have been obtained. The N dimensional Klein-Gordon equation has been reduced to a first-order differential equation via Laplace transformation. The exact bound state energy eigenvalues and corresponding wave functions for CH,H2,and HCl molecules interacting with pseudoharmonic oscillator potential in the arbitrary N dimensions have been determined. Bound state eigenfunctions used in applications related to molecular spectroscopy are obtained in terms of confluent hypergeometric functions.

Ethnobotanical survey of medicinal plants traded in herbal markets of Kahramanmaras¸

Most people in the world still use medicinal plants to treat and prevent *** Anatolia,studies have shown that people have used plants for centuries to treat many *** markets play an important role in the supply of medicinal plants and the transmission of cultural *** this study,we investigated the traditional uses of medicinal plants traded in Kahramanmaras¸herbal *** also analyzed the threats that may arise from the use of medicinal plants and the measures that can be taken to protect these *** these purposes,ethnomedicinal data were collected using semistructured and open-ended questionnaires of herbalists and local *** indices(e.g.,Relative Frequency of Citation,Use Value,Relative Importance,and Informant Consensus Factor)were used to quantify the use and cultural importance of medicinal plants sold at Kahramanmaras¸herbal *** identified 62 taxa(11 imported)of plants that are used in traditional folk *** top three plant taxa sold per year by herbalists at Kahramanmaras¸herbal markets are Licorice(Glycyrrhiza glabra;140 kg),Thyme(Thymus sp.;109 kg),and Carob(Ceratonia siliqua;106.5 kg).The plant parts and mode of utilization used most are leaves(28 reports)and infusion(36 reports),*** highest ICF value was detected for endocrine system ailments(0.78),and the next highest two values were lymphatic system(0.75)and respiratory system ailments(0.72).We determined that Urtica dioica,***,Thymus sp.,Mentha x piperita have widely traditional uses,with high ethnobotanical index values and use *** addition,according to IUCN criteria,26 of 62 taxa identified in the research are under threat to various degrees on a global scale.

This paper explains step-by-step modeling and simulation of the full circuits of a battery control system and connected together starting from the AC input source to the battery control and storage *** three-phase half-controlled rectifier has been designed to control and convert the AC power into DC *** addition,two types of direct current converters have been used in this paper which are a buck and bidirectional DC/DC *** systems adjust the output voltage to be lower or higher than the input *** the buck converters,the main switch operates in conduction or cut-off mode and is triggered by a Pulse-Width Modulated(PWM)*** output and input voltage levels ratio are used to calculate thePWMsignal’s duty ***,the duty cycle indicates the operation mode of the converter in steady-state *** this study,we analyze and control of a buck converter with the PWM ***,the bidirectional DC/DC converter has been achieved and optimized by PI control methods to control the battery charging and discharging *** simulation has been applied via the Matlab/Simulink *** results show the activity of each part of the designed circuits starting from the converters and the battery control system in charge and discharge modes.

Exact solutions of the Klein-Gordon equation with ring-shaped oscillator potential by using the Laplace integral transform

We present exact solutions for the Klein Gordon equation with a ring-shaped oscillator potential. The energy eigenvalues and the normalized wave functions are obtained for a particle in the presence of non-central oscillator potential. The angulm＂ functions are expressed in terms of the hypergeometric functions. The radial eigenfunetions have been obtained by using the Laplace integral transform. By means of the Laplace transform method, which is efficient and simple, the radial Klein-Gordon equation is reduced to a first-order differential equation.

Intussusception due to inflammatory fibroid polyp:A case report and comprehensive literature review

AIM:To give an overview of the literature on intussusception due to inflammatory fibroid polyp(IFP).METHODS:We present a new case of ileal intussusception due to IFP and a literature review of studies published in English language on intussusception due to IFP,accessed via PubMed and Google Scholar *** the search,the keywords used were:intussusception,IFP,intussusception and IFP,intussusception due to IFP,and IFP presenting as *** search covered all articles from 1976 to November ***:We present a 38-year-old woman who was admitted 10 d after experiencing abdominal pain,vomiting,and *** demonstrated small bowel *** ileal intussusception due to a mass lesion 50 cm proximal to the ileocecal junction was found during *** ileal resection and anastomosis were performed.A diagnosis of ileal IFP was made based on the immunohistochemical *** addition,a total of 56 reports concerning 85 cases of intussusception due to IFP meeting the aforementioned criteria was included in the literature *** patients were aged 4 to 81 years(mean,49 ± 16.2 years);44 were women(mean,51.8 ± 14.3 years) and 41 were men(mean,46 ± 17.5 years).According to the location of the IFP,ileal intussusception was found in 63 patients,while 17 had jejunal,three had colonic,and two had ileojejunal ***:Although IFPs are rare and benign,surgery is the only solution in case of intestinal *** diagnosis should be made via immunohistochemical examination.

Methanolic extract from Lespedeza bicolor： potential candidates for natural antioxidant and anticancer agent

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the anticancer, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities along with total phenolic and flavonoids contents extracted from Lespedeza bicolor indigenous to Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa ***: Anticancer activity against human lung carcinoma(LU-1) and human prostate carcinoma(Ln Cap), antimicrobial against Aspergillus fumigates, Aspergillus niger, Fusarium solani, Mucor sp Klebsiella pneumonia and Enterococcus and antioxidant activity on 1,1-Diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazy(DPPH) and Hydrogen peroxide radicals scavenging activity were assessed in methanol extract o Lespedeza ***: Lespedeza bicolor aerial parts and root extract showed IC_(50)value of 12.5 and 50 μg/m L against LU-1 whereas, ≤ 12.5 and 12 μg/m L were calculated against Ln Cap cell line. Minimum inhibition concentration(MIC) value of 20-35 μg/m L has been observed against Aspergillus fumigates, Aspergillus niger, Fusarium solani and Mucor sp in comparision with 1-2.5 μg/m L of Terbinafine used as a standard fungicide. MIC value of 20 and 35 μg/m L of Lespedeza bicolor aerial parts and root extract against bacterial pathogen Klebsiella pneumonia and 20-50 μg/m L against Enterococcus has been measured. DPPH radical scavenging activity of Lespedeza bicolor with IC_(50)values of ≤ 50 μg/m L and ≤ 200 μg/m L was observed whereas, hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity with IC_(50)values of ≤25 μg/m L for aerial parts and ≤ 50 μg/m L for the root extract of Lespedeza bicolor has been ***: These data suggested that the methanolic extract of Lespedeza bicolor could be potential candidates for natural antioxidants and anticancer.

Role of quantum paths in generation of attosecond pulses

We investigate the role of core potential in high ionization potential systems on high harmonic generation (HHG) spectra and obtain attosecond pulses. In our scheme, we use a standard soft core potential to model high ionization potential systems and irradiated these systems with fixed laser parameters. We observe the role of these systems on all the three steps involved in HHG process including ionization, propagation and recombination. In our study, the results illustrate that for high ionization potential systems, the HHG process is more sensitive to the ionization probability compared to the recombination amplitude. We also observe that due to the stronger core potential, small oscillations of the electrons during the propagation do not contribute to the HHG spectrum, which implies the dominance of only long quantum paths in the HHG spectrum. Our results, for attosecond pulse generation, show that long quantum path electrons are responsible for the supercontinuum region near the cutoff, which is suitable for the extraction of a single attosecond pulse in this region.
