Dysregulated interactions between host inflammation and gut microbiota over the course of life increase the risk of colorectal cancer(CRC).While environmental factors and socio-economic realities of race remain predominant contributors to CRC disparities in African-Americans(AAs),this review focuses on the biological mediators of CRC disparity,namely the under-appreciated influence of inherited ancestral genetic regulation on mucosal innate immunity and its interaction with the *** remains a poor understanding of mechanisms linking immune-related genetic polymorphisms and microbiome diversity that could influence chronic inflammation and exacerbate CRC disparities in AAs.A better understanding of the relationship between host genetics,bacteria,and CRC pathogenesis will improve the prediction of cancer risk across race/ethnicity groups overall.

Image forgery is a crucial part of the transmission of misinformation,which may be illegal in some *** powerful image editing software has made it nearly impossible to detect altered images with the naked *** must be protected against attempts to manipulate *** authentication methods have gained popularity because of their use in multimedia and multimedia networking *** were made to address the consequences of image forgeries by creating algorithms for identifying altered *** image tampering detection targets processing techniques such as object removal or addition,identifying altered images remains a major challenge in *** this study,a novel image texture feature extraction model based on the generalized k-symbolWhittaker function(GKSWF)is proposed for better image forgery *** proposed method is divided into two *** first stage involves feature extraction using the proposed GKSWF model,followed by classification using the“support vector machine”(SVM)to distinguish between authentic and manipulated *** extracted feature from an input image is saved in the features database for use in image splicing *** proposed GKSWF as a feature extraction model is intended to extract clues of tampering texture details based on the probability of image *** tested on publicly available image dataset“CASIA”v2.0(ChineseAcademy of Sciences,Institute of Automation),the proposed model had a 98.60%accuracy rate on the YCbCr(luminance(Y),chroma blue(Cb)and chroma red(Cr))color spaces in image block size of 8×8 *** proposed image authentication model shows great accuracy with a relatively modest dimension feature size,supporting the benefit of utilizing the k-symbol Whittaker function in image authentication algorithms.

Cloud resource scheduling is gaining prominence with the increasingtrends of reliance on cloud infrastructure solutions. Numerous sets of cloudresource scheduling models were evident in the literature. Cloud resource scheduling refers to the distinct set of algorithms or programs the service providersengage to maintain the service level allocation for various resources over a virtualenvironment. The model proposed in this manuscript schedules resources of virtual machines under potential volatility aspects, which can be applied for anypriority metric chosen by the server administrators. Also, the model can be flexible for any time frame-based analysis of the load factor. The model discussed inthis manuscript relies on the Bollinger Bands tool for understanding the potentialvolatility aspects of a Virtual Machine. The experimental study of the model compared to the contemporary load balancing model called STLB (Starvation Threshold-based Load Balancing) refers to a simple and potential model that can bemore pragmatic for sustainable ways of load balancing.

This study analyzes the impact of biomass energy,financial development,and economic growth on environmental quality using the novel Fourier autoregressive distributed lag(ARDL)approach on annual data for the period 1965–2018 in the United States(USA).The study analyzes the impact of related variables on the load capacity factor(LCF)as well as on indicators of environmental degradation such as carbon dioxide emissions and ecological *** LCF is one of the most comprehensive environmental indicators to date,encompassing both biocapacity and ecological *** this regard,this study contributes to the environmental economics literature by examining,for the first time,the impact of biomass energy on the *** results of the cointegration test show that there is only a long-run relationship between the LCF and the independent *** to the Fourier ARDL results,biomass energy improves the environmental quality,while financial development has no effect on the ***,the increase in per capita income reduces the ***,since the income elasticity is larger in the long run than in the short-run,the environmental Kuznets curve is ***,the United States government should encourage the use of biomass and investment in this form of energy.

This study developed an appropriate ground cooling system that can be used for indoor cooling during summers in rural houses in northeastern *** apply this system,a traditional rural house was selected and a heat exchanger was designed(PE pipe,32 m in length),manufactured,and installed according to the cooling load(2206 kJ/h)of one room of the experimental *** to the experiment,the temperature of Room 1 equipped with the cooling system was 3℃ lower than that of Room 2 without the ground cooling system during the same time *** temperature reduction effect of this system was confirmed through this *** the ground cooling system was used in rural houses in Northeast China,it was found that a burial depth of 1.5-2.0 m for the ground heat exchanger is appropriate for considering workability and frost *** use of the ground cooling system for indoor cooling during summers for rural houses in the northeastern region of China would reduce not only environmental pollution and the use of fossil fuels but also ease farmers off a certain amount of financial burden.

YIki is an antimalarial phytomedicine used by a traditional healer to treat malaria in Bobo-Dioulasso. However, there is no scientific evidence to support its use by local populations. The aim of this study was to identify the medicinal practices of the healer holder of YIki and assess the clinical evidence of its phytomedicine in the uncomplicated malaria treatment. Ethnomedical survey based on a semi-structured and open questionnaire was conducted from October to December 2019 with the healer. Malaria knowledge and diagnosis methods, patient treatment and monitoring, and recipe formulation steps were surveyed. Moreover, thick and thin blood smears were taken, haemoglobin levels and temperature of consenting patients were measured before treatment, mid-treatment and at the end of treatment. The survey revealed that the healer has a good knowledge of malaria symptoms and his diagnosis is based on observation and physical examination of patients. The healer’s malaria diagnosis was rudimentary and had accuracy problems, with only 62.79% of malaria cases confirmed by microscopy. The formulation of YIki and its use to treat malaria follow a standard process for plant harvesting, powder quantities and posology, but do not use any reproducible parameters for dose adjustment. Forty-three patients diagnosed and treated by the healer participated in the study. Laboratory results revealed 27 Plasmodium falciparum infection cases, including 2 with parasitaemia ≥ 200,000 p/µl blood. 25 patients were selected for therapeutic evidence assessment. There was a 48% elimination of parasites, a 28% parasitaemia decrease without complete cure, with gametocytogenesis in some patients, and a 24% parasitaemia increase. Haemoglobin and temperature results suggested that YIki was not cytotoxic and reduced fever. Encouraging preliminary results have been obtained, but in view of the low number of patients, further YIki efficacy and toxicity studies will be necessary for patient safety.

Liver transplantation(LT) for hepatocellular carcinoma is still a hot topic,and the main factor that is associated with the success of treatment is to determine the patients who will benefit from *** criteria have been defined 25 years ago and still is being used for patient selection for ***,in living donor LT,the Milan criteria is being *** criteria for patient selection do not only consider morphologic characteristics such as tumor size and number of tumor nodules but also biologic markers that show tumor aggressiveness is also being *** the present review article,we have summarized all the criteria and scoring systems regarding LT for hepatocellular *** criteria have 5-year overall survival rates that were comparable to the Milan Criteria and ranged between 60%-85%.On the other hand,it was seen that the recurrence rates had increased as the Milan criteria were exceeded;the 5-year recurrence rates ranged between 4.9% to 39.9%.Treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma needs a multidisciplinary *** selection criteria are yet to be *** same is true for treatment *** goal will be achieved by a harmonic interplay between basic science researchers and clinicians.

Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on clinicopathological features of transplant recipients with hepatocellular carcinoma:A case-control study

BACKGROUND The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic had a significant impact on the management of all *** diseases such as cancer have a higher risk of COVID-19-related *** this fact,any delay or alteration in treatment of cancer may have fatal *** carcinoma(HCC)is an aggressive liver cancer that requires multimodality treatment to improve *** To evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on the management of patients with HCC by determining changes in demographic,clinical and histopathological *** Demographic,clinical and pathological variables of patients with HCC who had undergone liver transplantation between March 2020 and June 2021(Pandemic group,n=48)were retrospectively compared with that of the patients with HCC transplanted between November 2018 and March 2020(Pre-pandemic group,n=61).RESULTS The median age of the patients in the study was 56(interquartile range=15).Ninety-seven patients(89%)were male and 12 were female(11%).The most common etiology of liver disease was hepatitis B virus(n=52,47.7%).According to our results,there was a 21.3% drop in the number of patients transplanted for *** was no difference in the demographic,clinical and pathological characteristics of the patients except blood alkaline phosphatase levels(P=0.029),lymphovascular invasion(P=0.019)and type of the liver graft that was transplanted(P=0.017).CONCLUSION It is important to develop a surveillance strategy for liver transplant *** liver transplantation for HCC is justified and safe provided that strict surveillance protocols are applied.
