Objective:Seawater leakage in Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar East Libya's coastal areas is one of the most biggest obstacles to farmers obtaining a highly productive *** a result,the experiment was conducted in a laboratory to find out the impact of irrigation with seawater on the salt tolerance of Acsad Bread wheat ***:Ten genotypes(1398,1492,1514,1522,1524,1536,1538,1544,1550,and 1562),obtained from the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands Acsad,were used in the study,10 seeds of each genotype with three repetitions were germinated under four seawater concentrations(10,20,30 and 40%).Results:The results showed that there were highly significant(P≤0.05)differences in the genotypes’response to all salinity concentrations,Which led to decreasing germination percentage,delaying the average germination time,and decreasing radical/plumule length and seedling fresh/dry weight compared with a *** noted genotypes(1524,1522 and 1514)were able to germinate in all concentrations of seawater,and gave the best average for all the studied ***,the study indicated that a concentration of seawater of 40%was the most toxic for all wheat *** results of this study categorize the wheat genotypes into tolerant genotypes(1524,1522 and 1514),moderate tolerant(1492,1536),and sensitive(1398,1538,1544,1550 and 1562).Conclusion:The results concluded that the possibility of wheat crops agriculture into tolerant in Libyan coastal locations in which seawater concentration did not exceed 30%.

The Internet of Thing IoT paradigm has emerged in numerous domains and it has achieved an exponential ***,alongside this advancement,IoT networks are facing an ever-increasing rate of security risks because of the continuous and rapid changes in network *** order to overcome these security challenges,the fog system has delivered a powerful environment that provides additional resources for a more improved data ***,because of the emerging of various breaches,several attacks are ceaselessly emerging in IoT and Fog ***,the new emerging applications in IoT-Fog environment still require novel,distributed,and intelligent security models,controls,and *** addition,the ever-evolving hacking techniques and methods and the expanded risks surfaces have demonstrated the importance of attacks detection *** proves that even advanced solutions face difficulties in discovering and recognizing these small variations of *** fact,to address the above problems,Artificial Intelligence(AI)methods could be applied on the millions of terabytes of collected information to enhance and optimize the processes of IoT and fog *** this respect,this research is designed to adopt a new security scheme supported by an advanced machine learning algorithm to ensure an intelligent distributed attacks detection and a monitoring process that detects malicious attacks and updates threats signature databases in IoTFog *** evaluated the performance of our distributed approach with the application of certain machine *** experiments show that the proposed scheme,applied with the Random Forest(RF)is more efficient and provides better accuracy(99.50%),better scalability,and lower false alert *** this regard,the distribution character of our method brings about faster detection and better learning.

Background:The local pivotal method(LPM)utilizing auxiliary data in sample selection has recently been proposed as a sampling method for national forest inventories(NFIs).Its performance compared to simple random sampling(SRS)and LPM with geographical coordinates has produced promising results in simulation *** this simulation study we compared all these sampling methods to systematic *** LPM samples were selected solely using the coordinates(LPMxy)or,in addition to that,auxiliary remote sensing-based forest variables(RS variables).We utilized field measurement data(NFI-field)and Multi-Source NFI(MS-NFI)maps as target data,and independent MS-NFI maps as auxiliary *** designs were compared using relative efficiency(RE);a ratio of mean squared errors of the reference sampling design against the studied *** a method in NFI also requires a proven estimator for the ***,three different variance estimators were evaluated against the empirical variance of replications:1)an estimator corresponding to SRS;2)a Grafström-Schelin estimator repurposed for LPM;and 3)a Matérn estimator applied in the Finnish NFI for systematic sampling ***:The LPMxy was nearly comparable with the systematic design for the most target *** REs of the LPM designs utilizing auxiliary data compared to the systematic design varied between 0.74–1.18,according to the studied target *** SRS estimator for variance was expectedly the most biased and conservative ***,the Grafström-Schelin estimator gave overestimates in the case of *** the RS variables were utilized as auxiliary data,the Grafström-Schelin estimates tended to underestimate the empirical *** systematic sampling the Matérn and Grafström-Schelin estimators performed for practical purposes ***:LPM optimized for a specific variable tended to be more efficient than systematic sampling,but all of the considered LPM designs were

The effect of the strain hardening exponent(n)of a material on the changes in shape,strain inhomogeneity,and contact pressure was investigated during wire flat rolling to understand its effect on the deformation behavior of a flat-rolled wire and to determine the optimal working conditions with *** deformation behaviors of wires with various n values were systematically compared using finite element *** shape of the deformed wire was found to depend on the n value of the *** the contact width and lateral spreading of the wire decrease with increasing n,resulting in a large reduction in area with the n *** strain homogeneity of the wire increases with the n value of the *** improvement in the strain homogeneity with the n value is attributable to two factors:a lower strain concentration in the central region and a higher overall elongation as n *** addition,the average effective strain of the wire cross section decreases with the n value of a material during wire flat *** contact pressure distribution on the surface of the wire differs significantly depending on the n *** materials with a low n value,the contact pressure exhibits a higher value at the entry and edge zones of the contact *** contrast,materials with high n values exhibit a higher contact pressure at the exit *** behavior can be explained by the strain hardening behavior of the material during wire flat rolling.

The climate has an impact on the urban thermal environment,and the magnitude of the surface urban heat island(SUHI)and urban cool island(UCI)vary across the world’s climatic *** literature review investigated:1)the variations in the SUHI and UCI intensity under different climatic backgrounds,and 2)the effect of vegetation types,landscape composition,urban configuration,and water bodies on the *** SUHI had a higher intensity in tropical(Af(tropical rainy climate,Köppen climate classification),Am(tropical monsoon climate),subtropical(Cfa,subtropical humid climate),and humid continental(Dwa,semi-humid and semi-arid monsoon climate)climate *** magnitude of the UCI was low compared to the SUHI across the climate *** cool and dry Mediterranean(Cfb,temperate marine climate;Csb,temperate mediterranean climate;Cfa)and tropical climate(Af)areas had a higher cooling *** cities with a desert climate(BWh,tropical desert climate),a reverse pattern was *** difference in the SUHI in the night-time was greater than in the daytime for most cities across the climate *** extent of green space cooling was related to city size,the adjacent impervious surface,and the local ***,the composition of urban landscape elements was more significant than their configuration for sustaining the urban thermal ***,we identified future research gaps for possible solutions in the context of sustainable urbanization in different climate zones.

Biometric recognition refers to the process of recognizing a person’s identity using physiological or behavioral modalities,such as face,voice,fingerprint,gait,*** biometric modalities are mostly used in recognition tasks separately as in unimodal systems,or jointly with two or more as in multimodal ***,multimodal systems can usually enhance the recognition performance over unimodal systems by integrating the biometric data of multiple modalities at different fusion *** this enhancement,in real-life applications some factors degrade multimodal systems’performance,such as occlusion,face poses,and noise in voice *** this paper,we propose two algorithms that effectively apply dynamic fusion at feature level based on the data quality of multimodal *** proposed algorithms attempt to minimize the negative influence of confusing and low-quality features by either exclusion or weight reduction to achieve better recognition *** proposed dynamic fusion was achieved using face and voice biometrics,where face features were extracted using principal component analysis(PCA),and Gabor filters separately,whilst voice features were extracted using Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients(MFCCs).Here,the facial data quality assessment of face images is mainly based on the existence of occlusion,whereas the assessment of voice data quality is substantially based on the calculation of signal to noise ratio(SNR)as per the existence of *** evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithms,several experiments were conducted using two combinations of three different databases,AR database,and the extended Yale Face Database B for face images,in addition to VOiCES database for voice *** obtained results show that both proposed dynamic fusion algorithms attain improved performance and offer more advantages in identification and verification over not only the standard unimodal algorithms but also the multimodal algorithms using stan

This paper aims to solve the lack of generalization of existing semantic segmentation models in the crop and weed segmentation *** compare two training mechanisms,classical and adversarial,to understand which scheme works best for a particular encoder-decoder *** use simple U-Net,SegNet,and DeepLabv3+with ResNet-50 backbone as segmentation *** models are trained with cross-entropy loss for classical and PatchGAN loss for adversarial *** adopting the Conditional Generative Adversarial Network(CGAN)hierarchical settings,we penalize different Generators(G)using PatchGAN Discriminator(D)and L1 loss to generate segmentation *** generalization is to exhibit fewer failures and perform comparably for growing plants with different data *** utilize the images from four different stages of sugar *** divide the data so that the full-grown stage is used for training,whereas earlier stages are entirely dedicated to testing the *** conclude that U-Net trained in adversarial settings is more robust to changes in the *** adversarially trained U-Net reports 10%overall improvement in the results with mIOU scores of 0.34,0.55,0.75,and 0.85 for four different growth stages.

A biosynthetic gene cluster for the bioactive fungal sesterterpenoids variecolin(1)and variecolactone(2)was identified in Aspergillus aculeatus ATCC *** production of 1 and 2 was achieved in Aspergillus oryzae by expressing the sesterterpene synthase VrcA and the cytochrome P450 ***,the replacement of VrcB with homologous P450s from other fungal terpenoid pathways yielded three new variecolin analogues(5-7).Analysis of the compounds’anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo revealed that although 5 and 1 had comparable activities,5 was associated with significantly reduced toxic side effects in cancer-bearing mice,indicating its potentially broader therapeutic *** study describes the first tests of variecolin and its analogues in animals and demonstrates the utility of synthetic biology for creating molecules with improved biological activities.
