Objectives: The a.terola.era. thigh (a.T) fla. is often considered the workhorse in soft tissue reconstruction of hea. a.d neck defects seconda.y to tra.ma. infection, or tumor resection. Despite its ma.y a.va.ta.es, a.T fla.s ha.e been criticized due to va.ia.ility in va.cula.ure, which ma. result in ina.equa.e or non-existent perfora.ors. This retrospective study a.ms to investiga.e the utility a.d va.idity of positron emission tomogra.hy (PET) sca. to identify the loca.ion a.d cha.a.teristics of perfora.ors to the a.T fla.. Methods: We performed a.10-yea. retrospective review of a.T fla.s a. our institution to identify pa.ients with preopera.ive PET sca.s a.a.la.le for a.a.ysis. Three reviewers (a.tending physicia., fellow, a.d resident) were a.ked to identify the number, loca.ion, a.d cha.a.teristics (myocuta.eous versus septocuta.eous) of a.T perfora.ors on ima.ing, a.d reviewer a.reement wa. a.sessed. Results were then compa.ed to a.a.la.le opera.ive da.a. Results: One hundred twenty-one pa.ients were identified who underwent a.T free fla. surgery. Thirty-eight preopera.ive PET sca.s were identified for review. a. lea.t one perfora.or wa. identified in 92.1% of sca.s. a.reement percenta.es rega.ding the number of perfora.ors ra.ged from 53% - 61% wherea. a.reement rega.ding the loca.ion of a.single perfora.or ra.ged from 79% - 90%. However, reviewers did not a.ree rega.ding the type of perfora.or, with a.reement ra.ging from 34% - 53%. Poor a.reement wa. observed when compa.ed to intra.pera.ive da.a. with the number of perfora.ors ra.ging from 26% - 34% a.d the type of perfora.or 11% - 24%. These findings a.e likely due to insufficient da.a.a.a.la.le in opera.ive reports. Conclusion: a.though initia. studies suggest tha. PET sca. shows promising evidence to support the ca.a.ity to preopera.ively identify a.T perfora.ors, future prospective studies a.e wa.ra.ted to fully va.ida.e these findings.

Compa.a.ive Study of Exha.st Emissions from Diesel a.d Synga. Powered 3.5 kW Compression Ignition Engine with a.d without Loa.

Despite diesel engines being highly efficient, with low fuel consumption a.d reduced ca.bon dioxide emissions, they emit rela.ively high levels of pa.ticula.e ma.ter a.d oxides of nitrogen (NOx) due to high exha.st ga. tempera.ures. Engine emissions show the qua.ity a.d completeness of combustion. This pa.er a.ms to present the results of a.study compa.ing exha.st emissions from a.diesel a.d synga. powered engine. Synga. wa. produced from co-firing coa. a.d bioma.s in a.ga.ifier then clea.ed, cooled a.d a.plied a. a. a.terna.ive fuel in a. engine opera.ed from 0 - 100% loa.. Exha.st-emissions were monitored a. this loa. conditions. The exha.st-tempera.ure wa. mea.ured using thermocouples a.d the emission ga.es were a.a.yzed using Testo 350. The emissions were lower a.d decrea.ed a. the engine loa. increa.ed, except for sulphur dioxide a.d NOx. The study shows tha. levels of ca.bon monoxide, were higher in a.ra.ge of 46.5 - 80.2%, while ca.bon dioxide wa. 3.3 - 18% higher compa.ed to those from diesel. Hydroca.bon emissions were 480 a.d 1250 ppm for diesel a.d synga. respectively. The study revea.s tha. the engine opera.es optima.ly a. higher loa.s since hydroca.bons a.d oxides of ca.bon a.e low due to complete combustion a. higher tempera.ures. Exha.st ga. tempera.ure wa. higher in the synga. fuel a.d increa.ed a. the engine loa. increa.ed in the ra.ge of 455.83 - 480.03˚C which influenced the forma.ion of NOx. NOx from diesel wa. found to be higher, ra.ging from 32.5 - 40.5%, compa.ed to those from synga. with a. engine loa. of 75%. The study observed tha. rela.ive to diesel, the emissions of sulfur dioxide a. 50% engine loa. were lower in a.ra.ge of 23.7 - 57.1%. Emissions of hydroca.bons depended on the degree of substitution of diesel a.d engine loa.. The study therefore shows tha., rela.ive to diesel, emissions decrea.ed when synga. wa. used with upgra.ed synga. from Prosporis juliflora.presenting a. the best a.terna.ive followed by Hypha.a. compressa. a.d la.t

Inla.d wetla.ds in a.u Dha.i Emira.e a.e wintering a.d stopover sites for migra.ory birds of prey. We conducted long-term regula. monitoring surveys in a. Wa.hba.Wetla.d Reserve (a.WR) from Ja.ua.y 1995 to December 2022. Both diurna. a.d occa.iona.ly nocturna. surveys were underta.en to record the migra.ory ra.tors a.d owls in the Wetla.d Reserve. During the study, a.tota. of 1282 regula. monitoring visits were underta.en a.d 27 species of diurna. ra.tors a.d owls representing five fa.ilies a.d three orders were detected. These represent 57% of the tota. species of birds of prey recorded in the Ua.. Overa.l, 63% of a.l the species tha. we observed were a.cipitriformes followed by 26% Fa.coniformes a.d 11% Strigiformes. We found tha. cha.ges in mea. da.ly tempera.ure ha.e a.positive effect on ra.tor species diversity a.d a.unda.ce in the Wetla.d Reserve. The species encounter ra.e wa. higher in low tempera.ure a. compa.ed to high tempera.ure a.d overa.l regression equa.ion wa. sta.istica.ly significa.t F (4, 1126) = 8.49), p = 0.00). However, the numbers of ra.tors did not va.y significa.tly a.ross the yea.s (p = 0.51). Western Ma.sh-ha.rier (Circus a.ruginosus) a.d Grea.er Spotted Ea.le (Cla.ga.cla.ga. were recorded to be the most a.unda.t species in the wetla.d reserve followed by Common Kestrel (Fa.co tinnunculus). However, the encounter ra.e of globa.ly threa.ened Grea.er Spotted Ea.le wa. detected to ha.e significa.tly decrea.ed since 2016. Moreover, 63% of the species detected were uncommon a.d ra.ely recorded such a. 1) Sa.er Fa.con 2) La.ner Fa.con 3) Long-ea.ed Owl & Merlin, which were the ra.e records from the wetla.d reserve. Furthermore, 27 yea.s of regula. monitoring in the wetla.d ha.e yielded diverse diurna. ra.tors a.d owl fa.na.(H) = 0.83, (E) = 1.43 (Sha.non Diversity Index). The results demonstra.e tha. long-term monitoring surveys in a.id environments a.e essentia. to determine the trends in the ra.tor popula.ions a.d to document ra.e a.d globa.ly

The Pekeris a.proxima.ion is used to dea. with the spin–orbit coupling terms κ（κ ± 1）r 2 . In the presence of exa.t spin a.d pseudospin （p-spin） symmetries, the energy eigenva.ues a.d the corresponding norma.ized two-component wa.e functions a.e found by using the pa.a.etric genera.iza.ion of the Nikiforov–Uva.ov （NU） method.
